2728353, So the Cavs are in that weird place Posted by Dr Claw, Thu Dec-24-20 12:04 AM
where I know they're not going to be a playoff team, but they're definitely not going to tank.
That was an asswhooping of the Hornets that only got close in the 4th quarter because the Cavs got real sloppy with it.
Collin Sexton is improving in ways I'd always hoped. Being dominant with and without the ball, and because of that last part, he still almost got out of there with 30. Had a few minutes of SexLand going on and it wasn't a total debacle. Some KEY dimes, including one to Garland for 3 which put the Hornets further back.
Garland is getting there:
Okoro is great. Immediately, the effect on defense is felt. Absolutely the best defender from the wing.
JaVale was a great pickup. And actually, Drummond just needs to watch what he's doing and do that, instead of dribbling and trying to be something he's not. Just be BIG and pass that ball and defend and rebound. Tristan did that for us for years and he's not even really a BIG big.
Scary Terry dropped 42 on the Cavs because they basically left him open from 3.
Here were the numbers from notables. Sexton: 27pts/5ast/2reb Garland: 22pts/6ast/6reb Nance: 13pts/8ast/13reb Okoro: 11pts/5ast/3reb Drummond: 14pts/4ast/14reb McGee: 13pts/1ast/7reb (19 minutes from the bench) Osman: 11pts/2ast/4reb (18 minutes from the bench)
altogether the team had over 30 assists which is amazing given the last two seasons.
Nance was so good tonight, it had to be seen to be believed.
Thanks again, Lakers!
This team is now at "Bad, But Good" stage sort of like ATL was after the Trae draft. If Sexton can get almost 30 without needing to dominate the ball? Well, shit.
And Kevin Love and KPJ are yet to play....
