Aside from the fact that they aren't compensating the players participating, I feel like this is a solid way to really evaluate prospects.

For the NBA, for example, obviously they have full season(s) of college ball or Euro league to evaluate, but what better way to see who really is the best of the prospects then to split the top 60 into 6 or so teams and have them play some group-play/round-robin style tournament.

I'd rather leagues do this rather than hold dumb combines and personal/team workouts.

Pay them, though, of course.

EDIT: Also, just to clarify, I'm not a baseball fan so really I have no dog in this race but overall this whole thing screams rich assholes penny pinching and further making baseball an exclusive sport, so fuck them. I just think with the right tweaks the draft league could be a solid idea.
