Seed them by record, give a team a wild card berth to make it 12 teams.
Wild card would be given to the runner -up from the best conference ( based on records).
Top 4 teams get byes.
The remaining 8 play in the first week, and the winners play the 4 bye teams.
The remaining 4 go to the semifinals, and the winners from that play in the championship.
Completed in one month.
All this man-made ranking shit needs to be kicked out. Do it like the NFL (based on division winners and best records).
