2727841, NFL Week 15 Posted by ThaTruth, Thu Dec-17-20 11:09 PM
I think Anthony Lynn just sealed his fate
|
2727843, Anthony Lynn is playing to lose this game Posted by calij81, Thu Dec-17-20 11:25 PM
Badgley has struggled all season long and just missed a 47 yard FG so you trot him out to try to make a 51 yard FG?! You aren’t even in the hunt for the playoffs, trust your QB and go for the first down.
The Chargers DC, Bradley is also terrible.
|
2727846, I couldn’t believe they dropped back to pass on that 3rd down play... Posted by ThaTruth, Thu Dec-17-20 11:48 PM
that was inexplicable. If you can trust your kicker to make a 45 yarder why is he on the team?
The Raiders are trash to, if it was for Jets it would 5 straight losses. Overall I think Mariota didn’t play that bad
That was the Chargers 1st division win in 2 years?!
|
2727844, RE: NFL Week 15 Posted by jimaveli, Thu Dec-17-20 11:28 PM
>I think Anthony Lynn just sealed his fate
He’s basically begging the Chargers to toss him before the end of the season. They’re trying not to tho. Or at least they probably want Lynn to outlast Gase!
|
2727845, Lynn and his staff just make some of the dumbest decisions Posted by calij81, Thu Dec-17-20 11:33 PM
Your QB is the best player on your offense, why stick with a running game that clearly doesn’t and hasn’t been working? Your QB has been carving up the Raiders all night so why take the ball out of his hands?
Bradley is a terrible DC and does less with more. His defense has been bend and break all season.
Badgley has been shaky at best all season and you’re still settling for 40+ yard FG attempts?!?
Lynn is good guy but this team has been regressing all season. You can’t even blame this on a rookie QB. The rookie QB has tried as hard as he can to win games but his coaches keep letting him down.

2727865, He is one of the top Posted by allStah, Fri Dec-18-20 10:24 AM
TE in FF, him and Kelce.
He is the raiders’ main target. He gets about 25/30 points every other week.

I laughed out loud in earnest, when I saw that the other day. You watch him and he just does work. Routes, contested catches, hands, everything. Waller is just dumb good. He looks like wing player in the NBA...he almost can't be covered. These guys are insane.

..too much talent to struggle as much as they do each week.
Tampa spotted Atl 17 pts, only to come back and tie the game @ 24 with just under 10 minutes left to play in the 4th qtr.
They really need to set the pace and momentum with these last 3 games if they plan to make some noise in the playoffs. Crazy that after all this, they could still be on the outside looking in.

2728068, Bucs complete the comeback against the Falcons... Posted by CyrenYoung, Sun Dec-20-20 04:32 PM
..the tale of 2 halves:
gave up 17 unanswered pts in the 1st half, only to put up 31 in the 2nd half (with the defense only giving up 10 pts).
Cool that they showed the ability to switch gears and make adjustments, but you're not gonna go far with that kind of start in the playoffs.
Tampa showed poise and a bit more discipline, but has yet to truly show up and dominate.

Can we just blow up the Falcons? Can we? It’s never going to work. We know this now. They got close a couple times and it didn’t work out. Matt Ryan might be the worst qb who is assumed to be good currently playing. Okay, maybe Stafford? Who else? Or will we blame this all on Dirk (who IS horrid) and then sit through another 3 years of the Falcons blowing leads and/or ‘underachieving’?

The Jets occasionally show up and try. And then it’s just a matter of if Gase blows it for them or not. Usually he does. Today? Try as he may, he couldn’t get it done.

2728101, if the Browns weren't missing so many on defense this season... Posted by Dr Claw, Mon Dec-21-20 07:09 AM
The only teams I think in their way over all would be Buffalo and Kansas City.
As it stands they could be a 12 win team by THIS point if not for the Raiders game and last week vs. Baltimore, which they lost due to their own defense.
They are winning all kinds of ways this season in light of this weakness. Whether it be a shootout where they run up the score, or a slow grinder like tonight vs. the Giants (whose defense is a problem for most teams at this point).
They took so much time off the clock that the quarters went by rather quickly. When they went up 20-3 they basically started running the ball and punting because any points the Giants would score would come off similar types of drives.
Baker Mayfield is playing like a #1 pick. The Browns offense is legit, and that's even without OBJ as a "Fuck You" option. Donovan Peoples-Jones has been a real draft steal. Jarvis Landry demands your respect. The Browns have 3 really good pass-catching TEs.
10 wins that could be 11 or even 12, and I highly believe #11 is coming against the Jets next week.
Then it's Pittsburgh, who I expect will have AFC North wrapped Monday night.
|
2728110, man its weird that the team really is better w/o OBJ Posted by BrooklynWHAT, Mon Dec-21-20 10:30 AM
that said im ready to run that matchup back in the playoffs and see if the deep water we've been in drowns the browns.
IDK what the hell Vrabel and them did to get ready for the matchup this season but they can't be that unprepared again. worst game of the year.
|
2728133, I was expecting a complete asswhooping Posted by Dr Claw, Mon Dec-21-20 02:43 PM
for the Titans, and seeing how they handle teams, I don't know what happened with the Browns. Other than now that I've seen them for 3 straight weeks I think it's the offense.
Tennessee, Baltimore, Giants all have good defenses. The Browns have their D-Line with Myles.... and maybe Ward in the secondary. the rest is ass.
and Baker and the run game is just kicking their asses.
|
2728102, as for the Eagles, Jalen is legit. Posted by Dr Claw, Mon Dec-21-20 07:15 AM
I hope he doesn't get away like Foles does. He needs to restore the Asiatic Order to Philadelphia.
He had dudes like Quez "U Mad?" Watkins scoring.
I'd be cool if they went with Jeffrey, Reagor, Fulgham, Ward, Watkins and one drafted WR next season. If Jalen is throwing the ball he can do it. he is out here pulling a real Michael Vick, and somehow he keeps getting these throws on 3rd and forever, 4th and forever.
The team is playing for him.
Arizona had much more to play for and they also have 2 F-U WRs in Fitzgerald and Hopkins. So... whatever.
Get in the playoffs, if you get matched against Boody, get his bitch ass outta there.
|
2728105, the only defense consistently put forth for wentz is the money. Posted by Reeq, Mon Dec-21-20 10:03 AM
the eagles have so much money tied up in him that its hard to move on.
thats all you ever really hear anyone say now.
its weird how these backups keep getting in and the offense runs smoother with them under center. all of a sudden the play calling, receivers, etc look better overnight.
mfs scared to say what needs to be said. instead they keep pointing back to shit he did 3 years ago.
|
2728109, Drafting a QB in the second and then letting him walk? Posted by legsdiamond, Mon Dec-21-20 10:25 AM

2728111, Nah, his arm is shot Posted by The Real, Mon Dec-21-20 10:34 AM
It's actually why people wanted to see Winston run that offense. Yes, he can be wreckless with the ball but he pushes it downfield. The Saints have some dynamic playmakers that are currently being forced to stay within 20 yards.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
|

2728117, dude never had a big arm to begin with and now he's 40, Brady got these... Posted by ThaTruth, Mon Dec-21-20 10:53 AM
dudes think they can play forever as starters until one of them gets rocked real good and its a wrap.
As Jaworski would say a QB has to be able to stand in there and "look down that gun barrel" and take that hit to make big throws and some of these dudes aren't not trying to do that lol
|
2728136, Rumor has it Posted by allStah, Mon Dec-21-20 03:17 PM
that Trevor Lawrence’s reps told the Jets that he doesn’t want to play for them. And considering that he is close with the Mannings, that incident doesn’t sound implausible.
Realizing that Trevor isn’t interested in playing for the Jets, they are going to keep Sam Darnold and just continue to build around him. So Trevor is going to be in Turquoise.
So the Jets will not be selecting a QB.
That is what was said on ESPN 1000 radio

2728194, Bears just have to win out, Posted by allStah, Tue Dec-22-20 04:14 PM
and need Arizona to lose one of their last two games, where they play Frisco and the Rams who are also fighting for the division.
Bears play a Jags team who ain’t trying to win to secure the number 1 pick , and a Packers team who have already clinched the division.
Bears should really be like 11-5 or even 12-4 . We had lots of close losses , and Trubisky was benched when he was undefeated. But it’s crazy that we are still right there for a PO spot.
If this defense can get back to playing lights out, and with this offense full of weapons ....we could possibly do some NY Giants Cinderella stuff.
Also, it’s funny to see the Chicago media all on trubisky’s jock now ...dudes can’t even open their mouths because the bears are shutting them up.....
Never give up on your squad.

Same. I wanted to see him make it through. And even if he didn’t and he ended up on the EJ Manuel plan, he had a chance to be a sympathetic figure. The guy who makes folks write all sorts of think pieces about race and quarterback, right? You know the articles...how at least on a subconscious level, a fuckton of football watchers and alleged NFL haters do NOT like black dudes playing qb.
Now? He’s just a goofball who can’t seem to get it through his head that his position is fragile. Or hey man, if you’re going to risk being out of the league, do it for something that can be at least argued as ‘noble’. Cant stay away from the hoes AND CAMERAS during a pandemic right at the end of a season where your wack ass team can make the playoff is not noble.
The thread that holds pro sports together for me is that these asshats are supposed to be trying to win when they are in the mix to do so. We know lots of these owners are dirtbags, rich bitches, and/or out of touch folks. That’s one thing. This Haskins shit and DO NOT START ME ON LOSER ASS HARDEN fuck it all up for me from the player side. Give me some more lies damnit! Tell me about folks having special psychologists. And chefs. And trainers. And spring sessions where they work long hours with their wrs. Tell me about dudes letting a teammate stay at their house so they can comb through the playbook together. Give me a team building photo of Haskins doing an escape room with his linemen. SOMETHING! Haha. Not mofos at the strip club right after a loss. And don’t get me wrong. I love strippers! But there’s a time where you gotta leave em alone or least postpone that shit or at least do it without getting caught on camera.

I feel like I have to apologize to Justin Fields because Haskins is fucking up his money.

What kind of >people do you have around you that will let you do something >like that?! What kind of people do you have around you that >will let you be photographed doing something like that?!
Yes. And real talk, what kind of mfer is in a strip club trying to take pics of dudes? I’ve seen folks in strip clubs who were midseason, or old retired and married athletes. And at no time did I think ‘let me take a pic of/with this dude in this environment’. Or even ‘let me chase this dude around and see what he’s doing. I was too focused on getting some positive turbulence around my own crotch to be worried about what Greg Oden or whoever was doing. And if it was folks from your own crew? C’mon dummies.
And fuck yes, the race part of this is sad and too true. On one hand, Russell Wilson got a few short and shaky white qbs drafted well ahead of what they deserved. I’m looking at Johnny Football super hard then cutting my eyes over at Bayka. But on the other, imagine if Mahomes and Lamar would’ve gone badly? A dude like Fields would’ve been screwed...damn near getting asked to change positions,

Young and Dumb. This is why I can’t put it on the same level as James Harden or Lou Williams. They are veterans in their 30s, so they should have known better. No excuse for their behavior. They are leaders
Haskins is still a kid, who comes from a certain background. And it takes time and years to unlearn that behavior. He is 23 years old. He is not a veteran or a leader. I’m not excusing his actions, because they were reckless. I’m just expounding as to why those actions were put forth. Young and Dumb. Think about all the unintelligent, reckless, and immature acts that you did between the ages of 18-25. Young and Dumb.
Go back and look at the dumb shit that Michael Irvin, Deion Sanders, etc did when they were young players in the NFl, and then look at them when they matured and became veterans.
This is not the time to turn your back on a young human being who is still learning how to be a man, a player and a mature person. This is the time to educate and teach, as well as mentor.

2728275, as a QB this is unacceptable behavior at any age Posted by BrooklynWHAT, Wed Dec-23-20 12:51 PM
if he played any other position this would be a funny story and folks would move on. but he already been benched, and he sorry. the only thing he need to be focused on is his craft and staying LOW. sit yo ass at home right now and play some fuckin Xbox

2728276, Oh yeah? Posted by allStah, Wed Dec-23-20 01:44 PM
Were you saying that about Lock? No
Drew Lock did the same reckless crap regarding Covid protocols where Denver’s facilities had to be shut down, as well as games being postponed. He issued an apology and that was that.
There was no talk of cut Drew...and Drew is bum as hell as a QB.
But yeah let’s demonize Haskins.
|
2728278, LOL...Drew Lock pulled his mask down... Posted by Dstl1, Wed Dec-23-20 01:57 PM
in a meeting room with his fellow quarterbacks. Haskins partied maskless with strippers while drinking and flashing wads of money...hours after a loss. Oh and that was his 2nd violation. STOP. They both were wrong...but the situations are not NEARLY the same.
|
2728279, It wasn’t the same? Posted by allStah, Wed Dec-23-20 02:07 PM
Denver’s facilities were shut down and games were postponed. It was very much the same or even worse. So stop.
It was a reckless act, and the same covid protocols were violated. Period. but Lock is still playing.
Brooklynwhat said that his act was inexcusable because he is QB, and if it were any other player it would have been laughed at. That’s what he said....so I mentioned Lock who did the same thing to show that he is incorrect.
Both committed the same young and dumb act.

2728284, This dude just blindly rides for Haskin for some reason Posted by calij81, Wed Dec-23-20 03:04 PM
He isn’t even a OSU fan so I don’t get it. Maybe he knows Haskins or is related.
|
2728286, Blindly riding for Haskins? Posted by allStah, Wed Dec-23-20 03:18 PM
I’m just pointing out the double standard due to color.
And if Dude thinks Drew “let me rap Jeezy on the sideline” Lock wasn’t out partying without a mask on, then I got a unicorn to sell him.
If a dude can’t even pretend to follow mask protocols while at work, you know damn well he wasn’t following them while out and about.....numerous players and facilities getting shut down wasn’t just from inside violations ...come on now, ..now who is being obtuse? ( not directed at you)
Btw, I do support and follow OSU when ND is not involved or playing ..and most here know that.
Also, I support my own through thick or thin just like white people do.
|
2728290, Was Lock not wearing a mask in public? Probably but he wasn’t Posted by calij81, Wed Dec-23-20 04:29 PM
Getting his picture taken of him mask-less in a strip club after a loss. Even if Covid didn’t exist, it is still a bad look for a QB to go to a strip club after a loss, especially if that QB has been benched and got a second chance and his commitment to his team and work ethic has been questioned. If Lock did go to a strip club, he would have got roasted as well.
Plus, Lock wasn’t a 1st round pick so both have different expectations.

2728293, also...this is his second violation, this season Posted by Dstl1, Wed Dec-23-20 04:40 PM

2728296, Yep and Lock/Denver aren’t fighting for a playoff spot/division crown Posted by calij81, Wed Dec-23-20 04:52 PM
So no Haskins has jeopardized his teams chances of winning the division and going to the playoffs by potentially getting Covid and passing it on to his teammates.
Was Chase Young at the club with Haskins? He has enough common to sense to 1. Not go or 2. Go and not get photographed at the club.

I’ll put this nicely as I can. FUCK DREW LOCK. No qb who has plans of playing for a decade should be trying to align himself with bullshit ass players like him.
And let’s quit bullshitting ourselves here. Any black qb has to know that his spot is fragile or he isn’t paying attention. Any black qb who isn’t battling to be compared to the best is wasting their time and mines. Any black qb who is looking to be aligned with the bullshit white qbs around them as an excuse to be the shittiest version of themselves and get a pass are missing the point and begging to be talking on a podcast somewhere in a couple years. I do not know when POC lost sight of this. I’m black as black can be and I’ve been told point blank from an age where it wasn’t great to hear that I had to handle my biz to the max or I was risking my shit to the bullshit trappings of racism. Or jealousy. Or some other energy related to someone not wanting me to ‘do well’. So I had to control what the fuck I could control and not leave myself at someone else’s mercy or whims whenever possible. I want Haskins to snap the fuck into it like a slim Jim and get it while he still has a chance. That’s it. Someone needs to get with him ASAP.
|
2728285, Agreed. Posted by allStah, Wed Dec-23-20 03:07 PM
But I’m glad you do acknowledge the double standard, and thats all that I was saying.
I agree with you though. He has to understand his position and walk a fine line. No argument from me there.
I just think dude got really upset and discouraged after the loss. He fought like hell behind that bum ass oline to get them back in the game, so he took that loss hard as hell. They showed a video of Chase Young having to pick him up, because he was down about the loss.....so I can imagine him going to the strip to just blow all that shit off and just not knowing how to handle the criticism, etc..
Plus the Washington team is still dealing with sexual misconduct accusations against Mgt. from former female employees....so this is just some more stuff to pile onto the team.
|
2728301, his shit is unacceptable too? Posted by BrooklynWHAT, Wed Dec-23-20 05:29 PM
idk him and i really dont give a fuck about a random scrub white QB. im not rooting for him to succeed and see him fuck up at every turn being an idiot
edit: breh my team wantonly violated covid protocol and i was on here saying they should be punished to the fullest extent the league will do. now the league aint do nothing, for whatever reason, but my consistency here is teflon.

2728277, RE: YAD Posted by jimaveli, Wed Dec-23-20 01:52 PM
Harden is the dirt worst. I’m with you there. He’s making crazy money and in the middle of trying to get traded to specific teams in the middle of yet another big contract. He hasn’t won jack shit ever. And it is looking like he never will as the best player on a team. He’s a tramp and a slut and all that shit (Too Short) for acting a fool while a team is working to move him to specific teams per his request. I’d be trying to ship his ass anywhere that would take him if it was me and he acted a fool like he has.
As for YAD, I’m not ready to let this slide in 2020. There’s too much info. Too many cautionary tales. Too many documentaries about dudes who fucked off their shots. And too many examples of what it looks like when you’re trying to succeed, the bullshit you have to leave alone or at least put in a certain time and place. All of that. Oh, and there’s covid ongoing. Oh, and there’s entirely too many people depending on him to succeed and thrive. And then there’s the folks who helped him along the way too. MAYBE he got a bad draw with his college system and the assclowns organization he got drafted into. But there has to be someone somewhere with sense saying sensible shit, right? Maybe!? Maybe not?

2728281, plus you hear all these OSU dudes talk that "brotherhood" BS, there... Posted by ThaTruth, Wed Dec-23-20 02:21 PM
should be a brotherhood inside the brotherhood for black guys that have played QB at OSU. You would think there would be an ongoing group text between dudes like Haskins, Fields, Troy Smith, JT Barrett, Braxton Miller, Terelle Pryor, Cardale Jones etc about what to do and what not to do. You know all those dudes are pulling hard for Haskins and its killing them to see him fuck up like this. He's letting down everybody that paved the was for him to be a 1st round pick.
|
2728287, That’s a good ass point. Posted by allStah, Wed Dec-23-20 03:22 PM
Regarding the OSU,QB brotherhood. There should be tons of brothers helping him out....but there could also be tons of jealous with that.

2728291, All OSU QBs, black or white haven’t done well in the NFL Posted by calij81, Wed Dec-23-20 04:33 PM
OSU just can’t produce a quality NFL QB. That’s over multiple decades, different coaches, different offenses. The one common denominator is OSU QBs do not work out in the NFL but are usually very good while at OSU.
|
2728294, What does that have to with what he is talking about? Posted by allStah, Wed Dec-23-20 04:43 PM
He is talking about mentoring and brotherhood programs from former OSU players.
You’re talking about their performances as QBs.
He is referring to helping Haskins develop as a person on a social Level, on what to do and what not to do.
|
2728297, Just to point out that OSU QBs aren’t good in the NFL Posted by calij81, Wed Dec-23-20 04:55 PM
And perhaps if the OSU QBs have some group text, they shouldn’t be sharing tips on how to play QB in the NFL because it isn’t working.
|
2728303, That’s actually part of the bs I’m talking about... Posted by ThaTruth, Wed Dec-23-20 05:39 PM

if it Rodgers didn’t get to sit behind Brett Favre for a few years how many Cal QB’s would be “busts”?
|
2728308, Off the top of my head, 1: Kyle Boller Posted by calij81, Wed Dec-23-20 06:05 PM
Goff has a SB appearance under his belt. Goff would have been a bust if the Rams didn’t get rid of Fisher.
My point is, even supposed QB U: USC has had a lot of bust but they at least they have had some good and decent QBs so they have mixed results.
OSU only has one result, bad QBs.
|
2728314, I’m going to have to introduce you to my shower posse. Posted by allStah, Wed Dec-23-20 06:20 PM

Can’t have you disrespecting buckeyes like that.
Obviously you on some OSU hate.
|
2728323, Are you a Buckeye fan now to? I don’t hate OSU, just stating the facts Posted by calij81, Wed Dec-23-20 07:28 PM
OSU has always been DB U and low key WR U, especially back in the 90s. Despite having some good WR talent and RB talent, OSU has never had great QB talent and certainly QB talent that has translated to the NFL.
Despite what you may think, I like OSU and I certainly don’t hate them.
|
2728331, I’m definitely not but you have me defending them, has Cal ever been... Posted by ThaTruth, Wed Dec-23-20 08:12 PM
relevant in their conference let alone nationally?
I don’t keep up with CFB like that these days so I’m honestly asking lol

2728334, I wasn’t asking you if you’re a OSU fan, I know you’re not Posted by calij81, Wed Dec-23-20 08:27 PM
That was for allstah. Who seemed upset that I was disrespecting OSU.
No, Cal hasn’t been relevant nationally or really in the Pac 12. This isn’t about Cal or Cal QBs. I was making a comment and observation that OSU QBs haven’t been very good in the NFL in my lifetime and Haskin is following in those footsteps of good/great OSU QBs who didn’t amount to much in the NFL.
|
2728341, Which school has “great” success with QB’s in the NFL? Posted by ThaTruth, Wed Dec-23-20 09:00 PM

All of this being irrelevant to the original point about Haskins decision making off the field but that seems to be an axe you want to grind for whatever ever reason which points more to the racism in the NFL than multiple offenses ran by multiple coaches.
|
2728347, I have no axe to grind against Haskins. I liked him at OSU and wanted Posted by calij81, Wed Dec-23-20 09:44 PM
Him to succeed in the NFL and hope he still does.
I liked JT Barret at OSU and I thought he should have been given more of a chance in the NFL. I also thought Cardale Jones was going to have some more success than he did and was hoping he could make his way back after his XFL days. I was happy when Lynn brought him to the Chargers.
Just stating that OSU QBs aren’t that good in the NFL and it appears Haskins is going to continue that tradition and maybe we shouldn’t be surprised because history shows that OSU can’t produce good NFL QBs.
|
2728361, And you still didn’t answer the question and you’re still full of shit... Posted by ThaTruth, Thu Dec-24-20 10:01 AM
Haskins current issues really don’t have anything to do with what school he went to.
|
2728374, Oklahoma, USC, Michigan, and to some extent UCLA have had success Posted by calij81, Thu Dec-24-20 01:03 PM
And you’re right that his issues don’t have anything to do with him going to Ohio State, that was just more an observation and comment that Ohio State hasn’t produced a good QB. That’s it, nothing deep or meant as a slight to Haskins. Just me making a comment on a comment board.

2728322, More than most, less than others. Cal isn’t exactly a 4/5 star destination Posted by calij81, Wed Dec-23-20 07:24 PM
Besides, I would prefer my Cal QBs take win Pac 12 championships than NFL championships but I’m happy that they have had success.
I just find it odd that OSU hasn’t had one good NFL QB in my life. It isn’t like OSU doesn’t get talented HS QBs and for all of them to flame out or not even get drafted just seems odd to me.
|
2728324, If Rodgers didn’t get to sit behind a HOF’er he probably would’ve... Posted by ThaTruth, Wed Dec-23-20 07:35 PM
been a bust too.
Success at QB is one of the most flukiest things in sports so it’s kind of a weird thing to hang your hat on. Peyton is probably the only modern era guy that was elite at all levels and panned out. Everybody else from Brady to Mahomes are more of a result of where they ended up than where they went to college.
