They can’t afford to shorten anything. They play 16 games. NBA and MLB play hundreds of games per season.

NFL Players and owners can’t afford that shit. They make their billions per game, which is why football Sunday is a huge event itself every Sunday. Every Sunday is basically Super Bowl Sunday.

Players get paid per game that they play, and their contracts are not guaranteed.

You know how much football players and owners would lose by missing just 4 games?
