have they given any explanation for defying cdc guidelines or they just plowing through and not really caring?

Lol
2722728, The Titians situation is a rough one
Posted by allStah, Thu Oct-08-20 01:44 PM
They were practicing. They didnt go to a club or a party.

A lot of players feel that they don’t have enough reps to really perform, and I get that .
These guys didn’t have a preseason, and a lot star players have already
went down and are done for the season.

Should they have done that? No

But I understand why they did.

Football is a different beast than basketball or baseball. The body has to be ready to deal with the vicious impact of hits, as well as soft tissue being able to handle the cutting and stop and go on the football field.

So let’s win this game.
2722766, He didn’t know it was 4th down? If that was Cam...
Posted by ThaTruth, Thu Oct-08-20 10:35 PM
2722767, Bears!
Posted by allStah, Thu Oct-08-20 10:44 PM
We should have scored 28. But Foles missed Mooney on a beautiful in and out route.

Finally, our defense got pressure on the QB, and that secondary was outstanding. Kyle Fuller and Mack did the damn thing.

The running game is still shit, and I don’t think that’s all on the offensive line. Naggy isn’t good with calling run plays.

Nick started off slowly, but he did his thing in the second half and out played Brady.

4-1!
2722769, What a ridiculous L. đŸ» are garbage.
Posted by dillinjah, Thu Oct-08-20 10:54 PM
Meanwhile Brady is still not on the same page as everyone else, sans Evans.
Gronk shoulda stayed retired (tho I’m glad he’s here with Oj Howard Achilles)
2722770, Bears are garbage?
Posted by allStah, Thu Oct-08-20 11:18 PM
We have one of the best defenses in the league, and was able to get pressure on the QB for the entire game.

2722775, This fool forgot it was 4th down LOL...

..and miles to go before i sleep...
2722794, Yeah, we should have won that game.
Posted by Marbles, Fri Oct-09-20 09:43 AM

But we didn't look good at all.

That roughing the passer call on Shaq Barrett was garbage and it absolutely bailed the Bears out.

Injuries are killing us. And now Vita Vea may be out for the season too.

2722800, That RTP penalty was ultimately the difference...
Posted by CyrenYoung, Fri Oct-09-20 10:10 AM
..That was a clean hit/sack that clearly impacted Chicago's final drive.

Either way, i'm not complaining because Tampa still had a chance to walk away with a win and couldn't sustain the final drive. Their 2 minute drill needs some serious work.

*skatin' the rings of saturn*

..and miles to go before i sleep...
2722801, It wasn’t a clean hit.
Posted by allStah, Fri Oct-09-20 10:20 AM
It was helmet to helmet, so it was a penalty by the letter of the law.
It doesn’t matter if it wasn’t incidental or not. It was the right call.

Plus our defense stepped up and stopped your team on several drives, especially on the last drive.

Nick Foles owning Brady is no fluke.
2722802, yeah that was a trash call

that Bucs team is loaded, and they're a dysfunctional mess. Just an eyesore. YUCK.

And it's one thing to see it from all of these other guys. That dumpster fire O-line was determined to set the record for penalties last night.

But man, to see Brady the GOAT not even know the down and distance? It proves that DISCIPLINE IS CONTAGIOUS...and lack of discipline is too.

I think I hate this Bucs team even more than I hated last year's Browns team.

Posted by allStah, Sun Oct-11-20 06:07 PM
All treated like livestock by their organizations.
I’m not agreeing with it, but this is why owners don’t want to give up money and why players hold out.

Football guarantees nothing on ether side. The violence of it all makes it unpredictable.

2723361, Not the same thing.
Posted by allStah, Mon Oct-12-20 09:42 PM
He is old, not trash, or washed. This is a guy who is in his 40s, and has been trending down for the year. This will probably be his last year.

He no longer has arm strength like he used to. It’s not consistent. It’s been like that since the beginning of the year.
2723358, Maybe. But Chargers defense is good

2723363, This is true.
Posted by allStah, Mon Oct-12-20 09:51 PM
However, there were plays where the passes were clearly lacking zip and speed.
His throws have lost a lot of zip. I think he is playing more with intelligence and experience these days.

2723355, eh. agents work for the player.
Posted by will_5198, Mon Oct-12-20 09:10 PM
there are bad ones, but the player is the decision-maker. especially a high profile player like Dak.
2723356, From what I understand he had fired his old agent and hired a new one...
Posted by ThaTruth, Mon Oct-12-20 09:20 PM
who’s commission was probably tied to this new contract so we can guess which way he was advising him
2723359, agents take advantage of players, but
Posted by will_5198, Mon Oct-12-20 09:34 PM
at the end of the day Dak decided whether he wanted to play or not, and under what terms. he took the tag. he knew he took the tag.

I'm all for guaranteeing contracts for a sport with the most career-ending injuries, and fuck the owners, but I don't see why the agent should be blamed. the agent works for the player, period.
2723373, It’s the agents job to advise the player and he gave the player bad...
Posted by ThaTruth, Tue Oct-13-20 06:17 AM
advice
2723382, and that's all it was. advice.
Posted by will_5198, Tue Oct-13-20 08:58 AM
Dak was the one who took it.

you're making me look this stuff up -- seems like his agent is known for playing hardball with teams to get the maximum amount of money (same guy was responsible for Joey Bosa holding out *on the rookie payscale*, he got Aaron Donald his huge contract, Fletcher Cox, Marcell Dareus).

so it seems like Dak got the exact advice he sought out, when he hired an agent who is known for squeezing out huge contracts instead of one who would negotiate a lower topline and higher floor.
2723450, Thatruth is incorrect on this.
Posted by allStah, Tue Oct-13-20 07:26 PM
No one should be fired, and he has an excellent agent. The strategy just didn’t work in their favor due to a freak accident.

The way that Dak was balling he was on his way to be the highest paid player in football.

They already had the worst and best case scenario factored in, which is why he has an insurance policy on his body, and he is getting 30 million for the season.
