To my understanding Florida State has the blessing of the official tribe of Seminoles to use the name and logo. So they don't have to change anything and there is no blowback. Hell FSU has a huge connection with the tribe, and the tribe has a say on how the name and symbol is projected.

Native Americans would probably boycott if the NCAA tries to do anything , which they won't

The university refers to it as a symbol rather than a mascot and works closely with the tribe whenever it creates new merchandise inspired by its Seminole connection. In fact, when the NCAA tried to issue a blanket ban of all Native American nicknames years ago — referring to such nicknames as “hostile and abusive” — the Seminole Tribe of Florida issued an official resolution supporting FSU’s use of the Seminole name.

The NCAA officially backed off Florida State after the two biggest Seminole tribes in America — in Florida and Oklahoma — came to FSU’s defense."
