Phasing out Chief Wahoo pissed them off as it is. A complete name change would enrage them. I don't know exactly how much pushback they would create but they will absolutely hate it.

EDIT - In college, my GF was Native American. A handful of her roommates were from Cleveland and were hardcore fans. There were several nights where I'd get the angry "Can I come stay with you tonight?" phone call after trying to explain this stuff to them. There were even some, "You're not *really* Indian," comments made to her (her mom was white & dad was full blooded...she was born and raised on the reservation). I was raised as an Atlanta fan and learned to modify my behavior real quick.

Blackhawks have said recently that they won't change their name. Braves did too. The Seminoles at least have the blessing and input with the Seminole tribe. That one might stick around.
