2715613, you gotta look at it more like a service industry/entertainment job.

Office workers have this worker bee, you do you and I'll do me kind of mentality that all builds to this big success at the end of the quarter. Professional athletes, restaurant people, theater people, they all look at themselves as a team fighting off all the bullshit coming their way each and every night, building each other up and knocking each other down as necessary.

Like for me, you can't spend a night serving $200 wine you can't afford to men in suits jokingly telling you it's OK to take the mask and gloves off around them because THEY aren't worried about COVID, then go out for a cigarette and beer with your coworkers and NOT wind up talking about real shit from time to time because you're in this awkward position where you know more about every aspect of your job than 90% of the people that consume your work and yet you could not afford to spend time in your workplace the same way those people can. Hell, you might even eat the duck + frites dish they ate and you get the luxury of paying half off, but its balanced by noshing on that shit like it's a tray of lemon pepper wings while sitting two feet off the ground on a milk crate drinking water from a plastic quart deli container.

I think a poor culture fit in a locker room can be managed, especially the larger the roster, but ultimately you're going to war with that person. Talent can only keep you around for so long, at some point if you disagree (or more importantly, refuse to listen or admit you are a single perspective among many) on enough significant issues with your coworkers, the ostracization (is...this a word?) can and will come for you.
