Chris Paul confirms he spiked 2011 trade that would have sent Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson to New Orleans https://sports.yahoo.com/chris-paul-warriors-hornets-stephen-curry-klay-thompson-trade-nba-041311630.html

2714464, I mean, who would he have played with?

David Lee?

At least with the Lakers he'd be playing with Kobe + Bynum and with the Clippers Blake + DJ...with the Dubs it'd have been CP3, David Lee, and Monta Ellis? How's that any better than the middling Hornets?

2714479, there's a lot of "almost" trades in NBA history

hell didnt the warriors almost trade Klay for Kevin Love
2714481, I think Jerry West vetoed that deal he was advising GS at the time...

2714485, I'm pretty sure that was the one Kerr talked them out of

He said that part of the reason he'd come there was to coach the tandem, and they should wait a bit before trading major pieces.

I think West wasn't a fan of the Klay (and many other pieces) for Howard trade that nearly happened. Though Dwight himself might have spiked that.

But who knows at the end of the day it didn’t happen
2714495, Certainly possible. All I know is the story told locally is always Kerr....

...said that they should keep Klay.

But then again, everyone who ever worked for the organization always says it was their personal idea to draft Steph instead of trading the pick, so who the fuck knows?
