2713992, Dak Prescott had a kickback yesterday...

I'm usually a defender of his but he's not helping his contract negotiations at all.

And I'm pretty sure whomever posted this on social media is off the invite list.

2714004, Who's really at fault here?..
Posted by CyrenYoung, Tue Apr-14-20 12:36 PM
..The athletes or the people providing them with (mis)information?

Initially, my reaction to the images was similar to the OP, on some, "..How the fuck is ANYONE taking a chance during a pandemic?!"

However, talking with family members all over the world this wkd (I have quite a few sibs), I quickly realized how very different various reports/updates are in different locations.

Shit, I actually had to debate with some of my own fam about taking things more seriously. They call/text damn-near daily, after hearing reports about how bad things are here in Brooklyn. I've been on Facetime with fam while they're going about their day, and you get a glimpse of people out & about, congregating like the quarantine orders were optional.

ALL OF THIS AS I'M WATCHING BODIES LOADED ON TO REFRIGERATED TRUCKS. (*All caps for emphasis, not LOUD lol).

When I tell you that I had to fight to convince some fam from attending church services held by reckless pastors... SMH.

My point is, there's been so much misinformation disseminated in this country alone (along with a fragile history when it comes to trusting elected officials), that its easy to understand how some people still thought this was some commercial conspiracy or a hoax. What this really proves is that people aren't getting (or tuned into) properly vetted info.

I rode my bike through the city with my go-pro, filming everything from central park, to Times Square, to the Javitz Center, to the docks on the west side highway: This shit is eerily reminiscent of the film "I Am Legend."

When I showed people the 1st video I filmed, all they could do was gasp in astonishment.

So who's at fault when people get confusing/contradicting info daily, while elected officials continue to wage a war of egos? How can you expect people to truly take this seriously when every other word is about how we must restart the economy soon? How can we be upset at athletes for training or hanging together during this crisis, when every professional org that they report to is determined to find a way to continue doing business and making outlandish proposals to hold "games without fans," as if that would somehow mitigate the possibility of exposure to a virus that we still have so many unanswered questions about??

Dak & Zeke are certainly responsible for hosting the party, but the real questions is how they arrived at the conclusion that it was safe?

All I know is that people are dying at an alarming rate and we still don't have a vaccine. We don't even truly understand this virus, but elected officials are more concerned about personal agendas & appearances.

I think one factor that influences a person's level of cautiousness is the region of the country someone lives.

In full disclosure, I didn't take the threat that COVID-19 seriously at first. But when the number of diagnoses (and deaths) piled up here in LA, my cavalierness turned into caution. It took living within a community that was definitively impacted by the fallout of the disease to change my mind.

My sense is that most regions of the country have not hit their peak or that their communities are spread out over a large geographic area. In either case, the likelihood of them coming in direct contact with someone who may be a carrier is lower than it is in a major, dense city. Direct experience is a greater 'teacher' than observation in most cases.

As the virus builds towards a peak and more communities are deeply affected, hopefully more people take this outbreak with the proper level of gravity. At least before conditions worsen.

Dak is in a unique position to isolate for a long time without any financial issues. and he seemingly would have more resources (testing, team doctors) than the common person even if he was infected.

if this happeened last Friday, come on -- DFW has had shelter-in-place in some form since mid-March. he's just doing what he wants.

so I feel OK about the average flak he gets for this.
2714017, I didn’t want to shit on us but my FB feed is crazy
Posted by legsdiamond, Wed Apr-15-20 08:41 AM
I have friends visiting friends and relatives posting pictures and shit.

One dude drove thru 3 states just to kick it with family for a weekend

Another person had a cookout with their elders (it was early in the game but they were still on some “we ain’t afraid of no Corona”)

Another friend said her neighbor had a cookout last week

People aren’t taking this seriously and a lot of it isn’t misinformation. It’s just being hard headed.
2714019, I had less than 10 people over !! (c) Dak

..I don't want to demonize the actions of people who aren't taken this seriously.

We need to find a way to appeal to their greater sensibilities.

I've already lost a handful of fam/friends in this pandemic.

I'm taking a ride today to get more footage of what's really happening in NYC right now. People need to know that this is REAL.

Manhattan really looks like "I Am Legend" right now.

Sadly, this is the time where EVERYONE should look out for EVERYONE and just lay low at their own damn house, isolate from outside of the house folks as much as possible, and be safe until well after the threat is accused of being gone.

Folks need to understand that the threat won't be gone just cuz DT says so. I'm scurred that Trump is gonna 'lift the gate' and folks are gonna lose their damn minds going here, there, and everywhere. Gym, restaurants, clubs, bars, strip clubs, strip malls, malls, bingo halls, and every mfing place they can possible go.

And we should know that a sick person or a person who might think they're kinda sorta sick will be right there with them..touching all of the same shit aaaaand infecting the fuck out of their area. And then we'll all be back at the house by mid-summer.
2714026, well his mother WAS white(RIP)...

That's the thing, DT doesn't have the authority to "lift the gate", its up to the governors and local municipalities

What people don't get is a lot of people are asymptomatic and look fine and think they're fine and be infected and can spread it to others.
