....but were afraid to.

Just a couple that come to mind-

1. In North American football, why are the punter and place kicker two different positions? Like one guy can't do two things well? Or are those skills sufficiently difficult that you need two specialists?

2. In boxing, shouldn't the victor take the larger percentage of the purse? To me that seems more fair. Especially given the shit-talking and bravado and very nature of the sport. Literally the better fighter that night wins 99% of the time. If I knock you out, why do I go home with less money? (I mean, I get the who's the bigger draw aspect of it too, but for a warrior's sport, seems the victor should get the spoils)

Am I trippin'?

What else is out there that's funny to y'all?

Boxing is based on the box office draw and champions, so the champion will always get the biggest purse, because he holds the belt and is the main generator of the revenue.

In non-heavyweight bouts, or a fight where two challengers are fighting for the belt, then the purse is going to go to the biggest draw.

That's why all of that is negotiated before the fight.

If a nobody is fighting the champion, you think he deserves to get paid more than the champion if he wins?

Now in a rematch, the new champion or previous winner gets most of the purse or even split....It still depends on how big of a draw the fighter is, especially in boxing where gate revenue and pay per view matter. In boxing, there are no big nfl/nba tv deals or endorsements. Money is highly generated from the gates and PPV, so the biggest draw is going to get most of the dollars.

they're called specialists for a reason, those are 2 completely different skills, sure most can do both jobs and all lot of them did at the amateur level and some of them are the "emergency backup" of the other position in the NFL but but generally at the highest level its hard enough to do one of those things consistently let alone both. Some coach way back in the day thought it was important enough to devote separate roster positions for each skill and everybody else followed suit. Long-snapper is a similar position.
