Posted by Frank Longo, Sat Jan-18-20 01:29 PM
I don't care how long he plays or how good he gets. Will always be worried about his health until the day he retires.
2710831, M-I-Z...

2710844, Ha!

a full strength MPJ with the supporting cast that was there, would have been something to see.
2717232, it count cuz they gave his daddy a job. smh.
Posted by PROMO, Fri Aug-07-20 02:24 PM
2717235, u MAD or nah?

2717240, just pointing out facts. i love MPJ.
Posted by PROMO, Fri Aug-07-20 03:24 PM
if UW didn't fire Romar he was coming here.

lucky for him, UW did, cuz Romar woulda ruined him.
2717242, LOL...what you think ole Ren was doing...
Posted by Dstl1, Fri Aug-07-20 04:06 PM
when he offered MPS a job on his staff, THE SAME SUMMER he was interviewing for a job on Kim English's staff in Mizzou? Trying to get his son to come with him. Plus, the Porter family has mad ties in Columbia. He only even went to WU cuz he and Romar go way back.
2717238, I support this

Denver is going to be a problem for years to come if they can keep that core together and stay healthy.

over him TWICE for Miles Bridges and Jerome Robinson.
2739208, I mean... the injury concerns were real.
Posted by TheRealBillyOcean, Fri Jun-04-21 12:46 PM
2739209, still are. just gotta keep your fingers crossed
Posted by BrooklynWHAT, Fri Jun-04-21 12:50 PM
2739289, Right.
Posted by LeroyBumpkin, Sat Jun-05-21 08:28 AM
I'm glad dude is exceeding expectations,
but I'm not mad at my team for passing on him.

The back holds your entire body together.
2739294, very true but his ceiling was too high to pass on
Posted by Ill Jux, Sat Jun-05-21 10:27 AM
I've always felt that way. look at pass drafts and you'll see most picks don't work out.
2739211, He was a 6'10" freshman w/back issues. I doubt it was talent related
Posted by GOMEZ, Fri Jun-04-21 12:51 PM
Porter would have been a top 3 pick in that draft, it was strictly talent based. Nugs shelved him and were super patient, and are starting to see the rewards.
Clips were in rebuild mode in 2018, though, so they had that same opportunity. Porter would have been a great gamble at the slot they took Jerome Robinson, too.

Easy call in hindsight, at the time it was a little trickier. Definite fuck up with the benefit of looking backwards.
2739215, yeah a lot of people snoozed from Bagley on down, the draft is such a...
Posted by ThaTruth, Fri Jun-04-21 01:05 PM
crapshoot anyway, Donovan and Booker were 13th picks, Jokic was a 2nd rounder
2739232, Precisely right-- the injury scared a *lot* of teams off.
Posted by Frank Longo, Fri Jun-04-21 03:05 PM
If he'd been healthy, there's no doubt he'd have been a top 3 pick minimum. Basically everyone's analysis after the draft was "even if he never gets healthy, it's worth the risk there, because he has obvious All-Star potential."
2739295, Most teams should always take that risk, IMO
Posted by DJR, Sat Jun-05-21 10:29 AM
Especially once you get past the first five or so picks in most years.

My brother is a Hornets fan and I remember him being livid when they passed on Porter.

If you’re in the lottery and aren’t a very good team, you need to hit on a superstar.
2739757, Hope it's not serious, but 'tweaked' his back in game one...
Posted by GOMEZ, Wed Jun-09-21 06:56 PM
a little scary given his history... dude is a baller, and the Nuggets will need him if they plan to do anything against the Suns or beyond.

2739811, He shouldn’t be playing
Posted by bentagain, Thu Jun-10-21 10:30 AM
That was painful to watch...and I’ve only ever had back spasms

He’s got a bright future...but when he’s experiencing any back related issues...he should sit

Terrible decision to dress for game 2.
2739815, yeah, he 100% didn't look right.
Posted by GOMEZ, Thu Jun-10-21 11:28 AM
I respect that he probably wanted to play, but also if he's not able to be himself and risking long term damage, then playing is a bad move. We don't know his exact diagnosis, but hopefully he's not putting himself at too much risk for long term damage.

2739821, he was moving at half speed
