2705513, Pats parting ways with Gordon?..
Posted by CyrenYoung, Thu Oct-24-19 11:31 AM
..I thought there was a significant chance for him to return healthy before the end of the season.

I know the Patriots are known for making savage moves, but it appears that even Josh was surprised by the move.

2705514, I posted it in the Week 7 thread...
Posted by Dstl1, Thu Oct-24-19 11:42 AM
but, at the time I just thought dude was hurt and wouldn't be back this year. THEN...I saw a blurb that he found out on social media and was like "oh, word?". Now, it looks like they used the minor IR, which means as soon as dude is healthy, he's gone. So, he can get healthy and play with someone else, this season, it appears. I guess this has been known to them and spurred the Sanu move on...maybe.
2705516, RE: I posted it in the Week 7 thread...
Posted by allStah, Thu Oct-24-19 12:03 PM
I love the patriots way and all.

But if they no longer have a use for you, or if you become a star player, where you will command top dollar, they'll let you go or get rid of you.

It's all about their system, and every entity is expendable except Brady. And even Brady is thinking about moving on.
2705522, yeah, looks like the move was necessary...
Posted by CyrenYoung, Thu Oct-24-19 12:58 PM
..they need help at WR & RT.

They addressed the WR situation with Sanu, so it makes sense that they would focus on RT.

2705517, Kyler Murray will get revenge in the Superdome
Posted by HecticHavoc, Thu Oct-24-19 12:29 PM
after losing a heartbreaker to Bama he is headed back to New Orleans to beat the Saints.
2705518, RE: Kyler Murray will get revenge in the Superdome
Posted by allStah, Thu Oct-24-19 12:41 PM
I don't see it. That defense is a top three defense. That is the difference with the Saints this year. They are going to pile down on the run and force Kyler's arm.

2705533, Kyler has been one of the better game managers
Posted by HecticHavoc, Thu Oct-24-19 02:27 PM
has the least amount of turnovers this year - but I agree Saints D is nasty. it'll be an insane test for the Cardinals.
2705550, Patriots trade Michael Bennett to Cowboys for a 7th rounder...
Posted by Dstl1, Thu Oct-24-19 05:10 PM
that could become a 6th rounder in '21. I fuck with it. Demarcus, Quinn, Bennett...cool.
2705554, doesnt his brother still hate the cowboys? lol
Posted by mista k5, Thu Oct-24-19 05:53 PM
what chance is there michael puts a little extra into a tackle on witten in practice?

after the cooper trade last year im going to withhold passing judgment on in-season trades the cowboys make lol
2705553, why does the NFL insist on inflicting Washington on natl audiences?

2705803, 2 terrible teams
Posted by dillinjah, Sun Oct-27-19 02:08 PM
2705808, Evans had no catches on the first half.
Posted by legsdiamond, Sun Oct-27-19 02:43 PM
at least it looked this way on fantasy.

Isn’t expect to see this type of production in the second half but I’ll take it!!!
2705809, another kicker loses a game, lol...
Posted by Dstl1, Sun Oct-27-19 02:59 PM
shit is rugged, but a professional kicker has got to be able to hit a 41 yarder.
2705832, That pressure.. it’s like hitting FT’s to clinch a game
Posted by legsdiamond, Sun Oct-27-19 06:12 PM
Even the best miss from time to time.

Denver and Chicago with two great defensives , but terrible quarterbacks.

Had Trubisky made those throws we would have won by putting up 30 points.
He missed easy TD throws.
2705811, The one where he overthrew Gabriel by 15 yards, just can’t happen

2705834, I'm high on the Niners.
Posted by Dr Claw, Sun Oct-27-19 06:28 PM
Eagles are so.... weird with it this year that I just think this is about to be the prelude to a blow up.

and somehow my dreams of the Cheatriots being stomped out of the AFC side of the playoffs may not come.

If it comes down to the NFC, I think the Niners are the team to expose them out of all the NFC teams, because of that defense. Their closest games have been against Buffalo and Cleveland.

also, if Jimmy G beats Boody in the Super Bowl that is going to be the funniest agenda "win" for me since the RG3 disaster in Washington
2705814, Jamies told his team on the sideline...
Posted by Dstl1, Sun Oct-27-19 03:25 PM
“believe we gonna win this game!!!”. He then went out and threw an interception to end the game. LMAO!!!
2705815, RE: 2019 NFL Redzone: Week 8
Posted by allStah, Sun Oct-27-19 03:33 PM
Please explain J Winston to me

He has an elite arm, can make all the throws, big time receivers, but always throws interceptions at the wrong time and usually towards the end of games.

Would he be better behind an elite defense where he can just relax, because he gets rattled in pressure situations?
2705821, He turned it over in college...
Posted by Dstl1, Sun Oct-27-19 04:10 PM
he turns it over now...just like Darnold.
2705826, RE: He turned it over in college...
Posted by allStah, Sun Oct-27-19 05:23 PM
Right, but he also won a national championship .

Put him behind a good defense ...would he be able to make it?
2705829, DeShaun Watson is a beast.
Posted by legsdiamond, Sun Oct-27-19 06:10 PM
Every GM who needed a QB that didn’t draft him should be fired.
2705835, I WISH Deshaun was their QB instead of Assweiler that one year
Posted by Dr Claw, Sun Oct-27-19 06:33 PM
28-3 never happens, instead it's 35-3 Texans and they win the Bowl
2705839, Imagine how the Bears feel...
Posted by Dstl1, Sun Oct-27-19 07:15 PM
not even trying to pile on and I know hindsight is 20/20...but, fuck!! Watson AND Mahomes.
2705842, They traded up to get Trubinsky.. when they didn’t have to.
Posted by legsdiamond, Sun Oct-27-19 07:43 PM
Fuck them for firing Lovie.

Clearly they got some racist running that org. I can’t front, I had no idea Mahomes was going to be this good as a pro.. but DeShaun put up like 800 yards vs Bama in 2 games and had 7 or 8 TD’s.

To trade up for Trubisky was some white hope type shit
2705833, Eagles win. Yay.

2705836, RE: 2019 NFL Redzone: Week 8

Bad weather created a lot of these scenarios.

Bills stifle and nearly beat the patriots, but then lose to the eagles who pounded the ball.
So the bills sucks at bad weather football. We saw the eagles do the same thing against the packers.

San Fran the masters of smash mouth football ruled over Carolina ...

If the weather is shitty beast week.

Then the Ravens, Steelers, Pats, San Fran, and Eagles should all be favorites. Bears showed that they can run the ball , but Trubisky sucks. Denver is another team that is actually a good bad weather team, but their qb sucks.
2705844, It’s matchups and NFL parody
Posted by legsdiamond, Sun Oct-27-19 07:48 PM
Always hard to go cross country and win.

Bills playing the Pats close doesn’t mean shit. It’s a division game. They know each other. Brady is 8-9 vs Miami in Miami.

I’m shocked at the 49ers score. Didn’t expect that at all.

Have no idea who the Eagles are and if these Packers are as good as their record. They probably would’ve lost to the Lions but the refs bailed them out.

Weird week of football

2705838, JJ Watt possibly done for the season...for pec...

Matt Moore our here lunching.

Pass rush is ass
Run defense is like 23rd
Total defense is 22nd
Rodgers got to put up at least 30 points.

Even if they win this game packers defense is not elite or top ten

Shady McCoy fumbling and fucking this game up for Kansas City. And

on a 5 game winning streak. Neither me nor my opponent have anyone going tonight. We went into last nights game with me up by 3 points. I had Jamaal Williams and he had Tyreek Hill. I won by 7 points. The difference...the ridiculous TD pass Rodgers threw to Jamaal in the back of the endzone.

Elway about to drop Von for a 3rd rounder. the good news is tho, the honeymoon period with Peyton saving him is over, and giving up Emmanuel for nothing and seeing Sanders ball in SF his first week. fans are over it.

Not sure what I'm more impressed with: The offense of The D.

First, the D. That front four is fucking everything. Nick Bosa looking like DPOY right now. Seven sacks in seven games. He was completely in Allen's shit all night. And the INT was a fucking boss move. Plus, Armstead's career is looking completely revitalized right now. And the corner play was amazing. Loved the picks by Sherman and Mosely.

Second, the offense. We dropped a 5-burger on these dudes, and we did it mostly with the run game. The play-calling and the execution are perfectly in-synch. All types of insane motion going on during every play that completely fooled Carolina. And I feel like most of the TDs the guy went in completely untouched. It's beautiful to behold.

I'm starting to believe that we COULD start the season 10-0. That would be some shit.
2705924, said this while watching the game yesterday
Posted by HecticHavoc, Mon Oct-28-19 03:30 PM
but ive never seen a team have this much "fun" in a game, i think ever.every player dancing on sidelines - defense dancing during every single possession - offense celebrating together

they'll have to fall down to earth eventually, but its pretty cool seeing them gel this well.

Damn we are seeing trades in the nfl like never before.

Trades are not big in football, because draft picks are way more valuable, contracts are not guaranteed. So if you trade for a player and give up picks , and that trade sucks, then more than likely you’re going to cut him, and now you have no picks or players. NFL teams depend highly on draft picks to fulfill their needs at every position. The biggest trade In the NFL happened way back in 1989...the famous Hershel Walker trade. Bu trades like that happen every year in baseball and basketball. And if a team loses a player for the season or IR, they’ll just pull a player from the practice squad for depth coverage.

In baseball draft picks mean nothing, becaues players go straight to the farm
And can’t immediately help a team, so trades are huge in baseball more than any other sport.

In basketball, trades and draft picks are equally valuable, so both are used on the same level. A trade can turn a team around immediately and so can a star drafted player.
