2705174, Jaylen Browns pockets straight Posted by Ryan M, Mon Oct-21-19 03:22 PM
115/4
I...I dunno what to say about that other than Ainge had better be right (he hasn’t been so far)

2705180, These average ass ballers robbing the shit outta teams. Good grief. Posted by Beezo, Mon Oct-21-19 04:03 PM

2705192, I mean, I get the why of it all. Posted by Ryan M, Mon Oct-21-19 05:33 PM
Someone would offer him a lot of money on potential, so the C's gotta pay up to keep him. I get that.
He's also significantly younger than Buddy, but Buddy has shown he's a very very good player who deserves his money. At least Tatum had a crazy playoff run.
His per 36 numbers are fine. 18/6/2. I don't watch the Celtics all the time, so maybe a Boston fan can speak to this more but this seems like a deal they'll probably regret.

2705196, I think the question is who else would you get that's like him Posted by Rjcc, Mon Oct-21-19 05:46 PM
and how much would they cost
www.engadgethd.com - the other stuff i'm looking at

2705200, probably an overpay Posted by thejerseytornado, Mon Oct-21-19 06:12 PM
but also probably not a problem w/ the CBA situation in the long run.
he's a plus defender with athleticism who probably woulda gotten a max this summer if he left because he's young and has potential and this year's FA looks to suuuuuuuck. and if his shooting is 17-18 shooting not 18-19, he'll earn it, especially as his handling and playmaking has improved.
also seems like a good locker room guy.
----------- you think we playing chess, but i'm playing mad-making. Basaglia

2705191, Buddy got 4/94 Posted by ShawndmeSlanted, Mon Oct-21-19 05:32 PM
After almost not happening.
Sabonis got his deal but supposedly they were trying to trade him last week. They got a good deal for him.
|
2705193, Jaylen's younger, but... Posted by Ryan M, Mon Oct-21-19 05:35 PM
Buddy's always been a better shooter than him. His deal is purely defensible at worst, and a great value at best.

2705277, He got Otto Porter money....seems like market value now. Posted by B.J.S.301, Tue Oct-22-19 06:12 PM

2807995, Congratulations! Posted by obsidianchrysalis, Tue Jun-18-24 07:55 PM
Although, I can't wait until JJ leads the Lakers to back-to-back titles and we take the lead away from Boston... Yeah, that ain't happening for us.

2808018, Thanks! Posted by pretentious username, Wed Jun-19-24 05:51 PM

I love the back and forth between the 2 franchises these last few years. The league is better when they’re in contention.

2808003, now Tatum bout to get around $315 in a few weeks Posted by Lach, Wed Jun-19-24 08:44 AM
The most expensive duo in league history but they got that chip so let's roll.
|
2808004, Consider that he’s gotten MIP votes in 3 different seasons Posted by DJR, Wed Jun-19-24 09:06 AM
He never got MIP but he got votes in his 2nd year, 4th year, and 5th year.
It’s amazing how much his game has grown since his early days.
|
2808016, Honestly the second craziest development I can think of. Posted by Frank Longo, Wed Jun-19-24 04:51 PM
First being Kawhi, obviously.
But, like, these dudes are why teams will take a non-shooting dude with the physical tools to be a star. Because if you hit that 1% outcome where he can really shoot? You've found the future.

2808017, Ahhh, here’s all the Jaylen takes from last year I was looking for: Posted by pretentious username, Wed Jun-19-24 05:50 PM

2808489, How the hell is Jaylen Brown STILL not on TEAM USA Posted by Sofian_Hadi, Wed Jul-10-24 03:51 PM
...and they just chose Derrick White over him. Derrick White? Did I miss the reason Jaylen Brown seems to be hated by his own league?
|
2808491, Wonder if someone will ask Grant Hill that question. Posted by Numba_33, Wed Jul-10-24 04:05 PM
That is a very valid indeed question, especially since I would think Jaylen Brown could add a hell of a lot more than Derrick White could in overall basketball attributes.
|
2808492, Two possible explanations, one on court, one off. Posted by Frank Longo, Wed Jul-10-24 05:28 PM
1. It seems to me like, with the insane amount of on-ball talent the team already has, they might be looking for a pure 3-and-D team player type, someone who impacts winning without needing the ball in their hands. In which case, White is, like, one of the best in the NBA.
2. Wasn't Brown outspokenly critical of Nike? Might be a decision being made over Grant Hill's head, tbh.
|
2808497, Well, Jaylen's clearly blaming Option #2, lmao. Posted by Frank Longo, Wed Jul-10-24 09:04 PM
Tweeting at Nike probably *isn't* the way to make future teams... but that's never stopped Jaylen before, lol.
