south carolina trying to knock off a top 10 team 2 weeks in a row

sluggish start for clemson at louisville

big pac 12 matchup this afternoon with oregon/wash

mich at psu whiteout in the type of spot where harbaugh really earns his salary
2705005, Trevor Lawrence would be tearing up the NFL at 19, huh?
Posted by will_5198, Sat Oct-19-19 11:53 AM
2705019, I thought the hype was a bit much
Posted by obsidianchrysalis, Sat Oct-19-19 03:34 PM
He played well during the regular season and had an amazing game during the Championship game.

But everyone overreacted off of that game, much like everyone overreacted over Tua. (although Tua met those expectations for the most part the next season)

#modernsportsmedia
2705022, both are great talents
Posted by will_5198, Sat Oct-19-19 03:39 PM
but yeah, the he should start in the NFL now shit got crazy this summer. Peyton Manning wasn't ready at 19. Or Tom Brady. Or Patrick Mahomes.

Lawrence is an awesome prospect. that's enough.

Arkansas with another winless in conference year
2705012, At least you got your Sun Devils
Posted by calij81, Sat Oct-19-19 01:33 PM
Big game today for ASU against Utah. This could decide the winner of the P12S.
2705013, Such a big game
Posted by HecticHavoc, Sat Oct-19-19 01:45 PM
I think it is for sure the decider for who gets to play in front of 28 people in Santa Clara

I’m surprised it’s a 2 touchdown spread. Utah is legit tho it’ll be a major accomplishment to go up there and win this game.

Daniels can handle the atmosphere tho - defense needs to have a big day!
2705014, I was surprised by the spread as well
Posted by calij81, Sat Oct-19-19 01:54 PM
Daniels has played tough defenses on the road and won. I don’t know what the weather forecast is for the game. Thank god it snowed?!
2705016, Low 50s with a decent chance of rain
Posted by HecticHavoc, Sat Oct-19-19 02:27 PM
So basically arctic weather. It’s still been in the 90s here - bust out the THERMALS!!!!
2705069, holy shit, just got to this
Posted by will_5198, Sun Oct-20-19 10:21 AM

2705008, what in fucking hell is mullen doing in this game?
Posted by 3xKrazy, Sat Oct-19-19 12:50 PM
this trask kid is floating every single pass and they refuse to run the ball. makes no sense.
2705009, well ok then
Posted by 3xKrazy, Sat Oct-19-19 12:53 PM
>and they refuse
>to run the ball.
2705015, Wisconsin losing means great theater in the shoe next week
Posted by HecticHavoc, Sat Oct-19-19 02:25 PM
Impressive win by the Illini
2705017, you mean less theater?
Posted by 3xKrazy, Sat Oct-19-19 02:50 PM
2705018, I expected Ohio state to kick their ass
Posted by HecticHavoc, Sat Oct-19-19 02:57 PM
With this loss I personally expect a better game from them now
2705020, Today's game was a trap game if there was one
Posted by obsidianchrysalis, Sat Oct-19-19 03:35 PM
2705021, they might not be all that great.
Posted by will_5198, Sat Oct-19-19 03:36 PM
I mean, losses happen but Illinois is fucking terrible.
2705023, the wisky as a legit NC contender was a tad premature

2705028, Yeah this loss is on the coaches
Posted by HecticHavoc, Sat Oct-19-19 05:07 PM
Saw this on twitter:

COACHING MATTERS!

On their final offensive drive, up 23-21 late in the 4th, Wisconsin snapped the ball with the following number seconds left on a running play clock:

11
11
8
7
7

Illinois reached FG range w just 33 seconds left & kicked the game winning FG w 4 seconds left.

Posted by allStah, Sat Oct-19-19 04:12 PM
Not really a trap game. They beat Northwestern 24-14 at Northwestern, and Northwestern is worse than Illinois.

The badgers don't look to run up the score, so when they went up 20-7, and I think they were on Illinois' 45, they decided to punt. They run the ball, control possession, etc. They can put up 38 to 40 points, but when they go by 14 or 20 points, they seem to be okay with that and just focus on possession football.

They let Illinois hang around, and it's not easy to just get right back into things on the road.

If ohio state is a 10 point favorite or lower, take it. But if it is higher than that, then look for the badgers to cover......But the buckeyes will win in ohio, too talented.
2705025, RE: Wisconsin losing means great theater in the shoe next week

no way

>If ohio state is a 10 point favorite or lower, take it. But if
>it is higher than that, then look for the badgers to
>cover......But the buckeyes will win in ohio, too talented.

the spread heading into today was osu -13. will probably be a bit higher now.
2705029, RE: Wisconsin losing means great theater in the shoe next week
Posted by allStah, Sat Oct-19-19 05:23 PM

Please tell me that is sarcasm regarding northwestern. Northwestern is 1-4 and got murdered by osu 52-3.

Illinois is 3-4, and just beat a top 10 school. If they can go 6-5, they are going to a bowl.

-13 for OSU? Don’t know about that. I would feel more comfortable with -10. But OSU to win by 13 or 14 against a very tough Wisconsin because they play slow?

If people pound Ohio state, and it goes higher. I would take the badgers to cover and the under

it's not sarcasm and osu is murdering every team so dont know what your point is with that

>-13 for OSU? Don’t know about that

it was the posted line spread heading into today, feel free to look it up
2705035, RE: Wisconsin losing means great theater in the shoe next week
Posted by allStah, Sat Oct-19-19 07:35 PM
So you think northwestern at 1-4, who loss to Wisconsin is better than 3-4 Illinois
who just beat Wisconsin?

As far as the spread, I’m not questioning it. I was just speaking in general that the spread is too high for me, hence I don’t know about that ( as in betting it).
2705041, yes

Damn. No respect for Wisconsin. 14.5? ..possibly 16 or 17 points by Saturday.

I would fade

Missouri hasn't played well against a first-time starting QB. Especially on run defense.

14-7 at the half but Missouri gets the ball to start the second half.

But this team has been a two steps forward, one step back team with Odom. The team broke thru last week into the Top 25 but since we can't have nice things in Missouri it wouldn't be surprising if the team lost.
2705032, time for Washington to make a coaching change.
Posted by PROMO, Sat Oct-19-19 06:43 PM
that should have been a fairly comfortable W over Oregon today.
2705037, who is the top candidate?
Posted by will_5198, Sat Oct-19-19 07:42 PM
I like Lake but he has never run a program. maybe you are just venting, but coaching purgatory is real when you change just to make a change.
2705048, i don't have that answer...
Posted by PROMO, Sat Oct-19-19 10:34 PM
and maybe i misspoke when i said it's time for a change.

what i meant is UW won't meet expectations as long as Petersen is the coach. we'll have solid seasons, but we're not gonna challenge for a title.
2705034, Idk why I got heavily emotionally invested in this UNC game
Posted by BrooklynWHAT, Sat Oct-19-19 07:24 PM

How do you Michigan fans accept this?

Wildcat plays?

Bubble screens right in front of blitzing cbs?

Jim H should have been canned years ago.

Down 14 And you run a screen right in middle of the blitz on 3rd down ..not
Over the blitz, but right into the blitz!

Posted by legsdiamond, Sat Oct-19-19 08:00 PM
Michigan is a bunch of slow as robots on offense
2705043, This is where I’m at
Posted by BrooklynWHAT, Sat Oct-19-19 08:37 PM
Yes it could get worse if they fire harbaugh. But damn it might be more entertaining.

It’s fucking boring to watch them play and they hardly ever win big games. Vanilla offense and not a playmaker in sight
2705057, hardly? more like never

2705039, Michigan offense is so trash..
Posted by legsdiamond, Sat Oct-19-19 07:49 PM
I don’t think they will ever beat OSU again until they totally ditch this 1980 mindset.

2705042, RE: CFB Saturday Oct 19th
Posted by allStah, Sat Oct-19-19 08:08 PM
Okay okay. Good way to respond Michigan.

Those were better plays, and some solid run plays.
So Michigan can run the ball against penn state ..keep running until you open the passing game up
2705044, Just keep playing man to man on Hamler with a fucking safety!
Posted by allStah, Sat Oct-19-19 09:31 PM
What the hell is wrong with Harbaugh?

Just when Michigan was getting back into the game.

Ham getting me points so I don’t care. But Michigan is going to go into Notre Dame unranked.
2705045, RE: CFB Saturday Oct 19th

Okay. Good ass running. You’re back in the game. Now play defense Michigan.

they really beat PSU's ass in that 2nd half

although harb telling the sideline reporter 'this will be our finest hour' is definitely worthy of being made fun of
2705049, Tua’s out and Tennessee’s QB is out. Physical game.

Posted by will_5198, Sat Oct-19-19 11:07 PM
seems like Tennessee football for the last decade...small glimmers of hope snatched away in the worst way possible

Pruitt can be mad but unless Guarantano called the sneak on his own, those were just four shitty plays on the goal-line against bama's defense
2705055, 3 terrible running plays before the sneak.
Posted by legsdiamond, Sat Oct-19-19 11:09 PM
2705056, bad look for Pruitt and Jim Chaney.
Posted by will_5198, Sat Oct-19-19 11:11 PM
direct snap to the running back, lined up in the shotgun? whole defense is going to pinch that. calling the damn game like y'all have even talent...
2705060, well I guess he did...
Posted by will_5198, Sat Oct-19-19 11:52 PM
>Pruitt can be mad but unless Guarantano called the sneak on
>his own

or he was just really confused, which is just as bad and why Pruitt is taking the blame for it publicly. but as being noted everywhere, nobody pulls the left guard on a QB sneak, which Tennessee did...definitely looks like Guarantano was the only one who didn't get the memo (or went rogue).
2705054, well with Tua out OSU is now the favorite

2705064, Michigan was the better team last night
Posted by cgonz00cc, Sun Oct-20-19 08:58 AM
doesnt buy them anything tho.

2 coverage busts and a 1st half of short fields was the difference
2705068, RE: Michigan was the better team last night
Posted by allStah, Sun Oct-20-19 10:15 AM
They were the better team in the second half, but in the first half they got their
Asses handed to them.

Hamler ate them up in both halves because Michigan kept playing man to man with a safety on Hamler. Plus the missed throws to Dotson could have put penn state up big.

This aint no moral victory . Michigan made the adjustments in the second half, but there were still dumb plays put in by Michigan. I think Patterson is the real reason why Michigan got back into the game. He kept plays alive with his feet. Plus focusing on running plays, instead of the BS trick plays they were doing in the first half.

However, Penn State ain’t even in the same convo with bama , Clemson, OSU, or sooners.
2705070, thats extreme imo
Posted by cgonz00cc, Sun Oct-20-19 10:29 AM
4th down PI no call in plus territory probably kept points off the board, and Ambry Thomas was in great position on the one big play Dotson did make so thats whatever.

the last PSU TD with Metellus wayyyyy behind Hamler was absolutely not the plan, and UM ran less man coverage than it appeared. i was disappointed at the relative scarcity of snaps for Dax Hill. i dont see how Vincent Gray gives them anything more than Hill would.

and i agree on Patterson. that second half was the best he's played at UM. DPJ and Bell betrayed him with those drops. Charbonnet also had a really nice second half. I like Haskins too, but Charbonnet's feet are SO much quicker. he always seems to get *something*
2705071, RE: thats extreme imo
Posted by allStah, Sun Oct-20-19 10:48 AM
Agreed on Chab. 2 tds where the penn state defense couldn’t do anything.
2705160, 2nd Hamler TD was a missed call. no deep middle safety (link)
