2702626, so there are people out there who think shea can win a NC?
Posted by 3xKrazy, Sat Sep-07-19 12:09 PM
and that fields isn't good?

show yourselves.
2702633, id say UMs QB *room* is good enough, and better than OSU's
Posted by cgonz00cc, Sat Sep-07-19 01:10 PM
but thats a depth issue. Fields could very well be better than Patterson and McCaffrey. But i dont think OSU has a backup in their territory.
2702634, but
Posted by cgonz00cc, Sat Sep-07-19 01:11 PM
that assumes UM will use McCaffrey as "the guy"
2702636, cool lemme know when they hand out trophies for 'rooms'
Posted by 3xKrazy, Sat Sep-07-19 01:21 PM
wtf
2702640, well who thinks fields "isnt good"?
Posted by cgonz00cc, Sat Sep-07-19 01:49 PM
you asked a question about a subjective topic so i gave my subjective opinion lol
2702650, UGA fans been shitting on the kid ever since he left
Posted by 3xKrazy, Sat Sep-07-19 02:38 PM
>you asked a question about a subjective topic so i gave my
>subjective opinion lol

I did not ask a question about comparing the qb depth between OSU and mich
2702653, keywords: "U(sic)GA fans"
Posted by cgonz00cc, Sat Sep-07-19 02:46 PM
edit: idk if Patterson can win a NC, but i do think their QB *situation* is good enough. McCaffrey can play. but i also dont know if UM's coaching will make the move before its already a problem.

it seemed like your post was about a comparison, so i gave expanded thoughts *shrug*
2702654, nope separate trains of thought
Posted by 3xKrazy, Sat Sep-07-19 03:00 PM
>it seemed like your post was about a comparison, so i gave
>expanded thoughts *shrug*

and as far as depth goes..most teams dont have significant depth at the qb position so its not like osu's situation is all that unique. most teams aren't going to win a NC with their backup qb.
2702656, i agree with that
Posted by cgonz00cc, Sat Sep-07-19 03:08 PM
Urbz had a cool piece on BTN this week about the "2 QBs means you have zero" myth
2702628, Lmao at Michigan’s offense
Posted by legsdiamond, Sat Sep-07-19 12:39 PM
What do they do all summer?

Every year it’s ugly as hell.
2702629, talk a gang of shit
Posted by 3xKrazy, Sat Sep-07-19 12:41 PM
>What do they do all summer?

2702637, remember when Austin Kendall called Ohio St's defense basic?
Posted by will_5198, Sat Sep-07-19 01:43 PM
his new team has 82 total yards through 3Q against Missouri. something about being a back-up QB at a top program is really afflicting.
2702638, win or lose, we know michigan is sorry as fuck
Posted by BrooklynWHAT, Sat Sep-07-19 01:44 PM
2702641, army is getting no credit anywhere
Posted by cgonz00cc, Sat Sep-07-19 01:50 PM
mgobloglodytes dont even seem to realize there are 3 teams on the field
2702657, playing a tight game against Army is fine
Posted by will_5198, Sat Sep-07-19 03:09 PM
hell, even losing is OK

but the Groundhog Day issues -- Shea Patterson is a Contra spray gun who can't make a read, they get no explosive plays and don't have a dominating run game to lean on -- are worrisome
2702642, how Michigan get all that talent and still be so trash?
Posted by PROMO, Sat Sep-07-19 01:57 PM
2702644, SMH
Posted by cgonz00cc, Sat Sep-07-19 02:00 PM
im more mad ppl are acting like Army doesnt exist than i am about UM losing
2702647, ARMY aren't bum, BUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUT....
Posted by PROMO, Sat Sep-07-19 02:18 PM
they have NO business being in the position to kick a game winning FG.

on the flip side, Michigan has no business only putting up 14 points in regulation, even WITH the turnovers.

c'mon dawg...this is MICHIGAN. y'all have rings.
2702648, if they scored 21 like OU would it have been better?
Posted by cgonz00cc, Sat Sep-07-19 02:21 PM
Army's been here before
2702649, and i know there have been a million mistakes, but...
Posted by cgonz00cc, Sat Sep-07-19 02:26 PM
i know its high school and im not trying to Al Bundy it... but it sucks to be in Ms spot.

we were natl ranked and when a team that, on paper, shouldnt be hanging with you, is in fact hanging with you...mental mistakes happen. you press and worry and stress.

2702655, yeah guys Army is a tough out
Posted by will_5198, Sat Sep-07-19 03:06 PM
Monken is a good coach and as mentioned a bunch, they went into OT with Oklahoma last season.

going by blue-blood logic, shouldn't have OU just blown them out with their pure prestige and talent? they had the #1 pick last year...

nah. it's football.
2702659, No. Army defense shouldn’t be shutting mich O in AA
Posted by 3xKrazy, Sat Sep-07-19 03:47 PM
Not after the Gattis hype train this whole offseason
2702671, OU had 15 more yards and 4 more points. shit happens.
Posted by cgonz00cc, Sat Sep-07-19 04:24 PM
2702678, lol what does OU have to do with anything?
Posted by 3xKrazy, Sat Sep-07-19 05:15 PM
when mich annually fields a prolific and innovative offense, back to back hesiman qb's and multiple playoff appearances then please get back to me.

otherwise this is a strange and very off-topic comparison.
2702693, more strange than all this consternation over beating an 11 win team last yr?
Posted by cgonz00cc, Sat Sep-07-19 07:27 PM
2702703, right, of all places to discuss cfb team performances
Posted by 3xKrazy, Sat Sep-07-19 07:54 PM
why here?????
2702651, at which spots are they so talented at?
Posted by 3xKrazy, Sat Sep-07-19 02:40 PM
wr's are pretty good but other than that??
2702652, G-C-G will all be drafted, both CBs will be drafted, Charb is legit
Posted by cgonz00cc, Sat Sep-07-19 02:45 PM
Uche, Metellus, and James Ross will all be drafted

normal LT is out, Peoples-Jones is probably their best overall player. He, Black, and Collins will all be drafted

they have a ton of talent
2702687, ARMY almost beat OU last season, chill.`
Posted by isaaaa, Sat Sep-07-19 06:58 PM
I'd never schedule ARMY, Boise St or App State.

2702643, sooner or later ppl need to acknowledge Paul Johnson
Posted by cgonz00cc, Sat Sep-07-19 01:59 PM
he has influenced modern offense more than anyone cares to admit

will posted a clip of something oklahoma did that im 100% sure Riley cribbed from Army last year (Jeff Monken is a PJ branch), and now orbit motion is something every team incorporates into their shotgun options.

its not a coincidence PJ was the first coach to beat ND at Navy in like 50 years, and the first coach at GT to win a major bowl ,(Orange) simce the 50s. and now Army has a top 10 team sweating in their own house.

when is someone like Cal, South Carolina, or Colorado gonna get smart and hire Monken or Nieumatololo?
2702663, Let the whole board down
Posted by Ceej, Sat Sep-07-19 04:02 PM
2702665, Well since UM won, the only big upset today will be the Cal-UW game
Posted by calij81, Sat Sep-07-19 04:05 PM
2702672, Last year was fun. We suck again.
Posted by DJR, Sat Sep-07-19 04:35 PM
2702681, anyone else take the points today on A&M/Clemson?
Posted by dillinjah, Sat Sep-07-19 06:06 PM
2702704, yep that was hilarious
Posted by 3xKrazy, Sat Sep-07-19 07:55 PM
if you know someone who doesnt think coaches are conscious of the spread...just show them the last 5 min of that game.
2702683, Whata Colorado comeback

2702684, Great comeback win for Colorado! I love to see Nebraska lose

2702685, UCLA is terrible, Kelly should retire and be an analyst
Posted by calij81, Sat Sep-07-19 06:29 PM
It doesn’t even look like he wants to be on the sidelines,
2702706, that was kinda a must win for ucla against sdsu
Posted by 3xKrazy, Sat Sep-07-19 07:57 PM
shit is really gonna go off the rails now against better competition
2702686, No seriously, is Urban Meyer available??

2702701, Blackman threatened to transfer, and this was BEFORE
Posted by isaaaa, Sat Sep-07-19 07:44 PM
Hornibrook was officially even on the team, he kinda held us hostage. Also Taggart booted our best QB (Francois) off the team, and now he's at Hampton.

2702709, I know Francois was kicked off the team but I never thought Hornibrook
Posted by calij81, Sat Sep-07-19 08:03 PM
Was a real option at QB for FSU and never thought he could beat Blackman for the starting QB job.
2702711, Neither are the starter in 2020, so I ain't pressed.
Posted by isaaaa, Sat Sep-07-19 08:10 PM
Bad football teams don't bother me...it's when we're good and loseis when I get pissed off. I'm still mad at losing to UF in 2012 because of retarded azz EJ Manuel. We win that game, we have a chance to steal a NC.

2702705, lol hornibrook is dreadful
Posted by 3xKrazy, Sat Sep-07-19 07:56 PM
you dont want that
2702707, Right, if your savior is Hornibrook then you’ve got big problems at QB
Posted by calij81, Sat Sep-07-19 08:01 PM
He was terrible at Wisconsin.
2702708, He's not a game manager? I just want a guy who
Posted by isaaaa, Sat Sep-07-19 08:02 PM
won't toss pick 6's to mediocre defenses.

2702710, He wasn’t even an average game manager at Wisconsin
Posted by calij81, Sat Sep-07-19 08:05 PM
And it seems like FSUs defense isn’t good enough to have a game manager at QB.
2702712, No! LOL
Posted by 3xKrazy, Sat Sep-07-19 08:10 PM
i had a feeling you've never seen dude actually play

I feel like any time i switched on wisky hornibrook was throwing an int in the red zone. it was kinda uncanny.
2702713, Nah, I just thought he was a solid QB lol

2702716, Does LSU have an actual offense or is Texas defense bad
Posted by calij81, Sat Sep-07-19 09:39 PM
2702719, I'm trying to figure that out...I think it might actually be the former.
Posted by dillinjah, Sat Sep-07-19 09:47 PM
2702717, will_5198...sorry. That was so stupid.
Posted by dillinjah, Sat Sep-07-19 09:40 PM
2702723, predestined
Posted by will_5198, Sat Sep-07-19 10:08 PM
I'm no coach but don't most coverage busts at the of the game seem like they come in cover 3?

if you run verticals it puts a lot of pressure on the safeties, and why do corners need to be playing for a 15-20 yard pass in front of them?

I don't see any point to it with less than 15 seconds left and the opposing team having to drive 50+ yards
2702718, Fear The Turtle.
Posted by Beezo, Sat Sep-07-19 09:43 PM
2702722, That might be the most shocking win of the day
Posted by calij81, Sat Sep-07-19 10:00 PM
2702733, Boys playing for something bigger than the game. RIP Big Jordan. #79
Posted by Beezo, Sun Sep-08-19 09:11 AM
2702724, Burrow had a great game tonight against Texas
Posted by calij81, Sat Sep-07-19 10:47 PM
LSU might actually have an offense.
2702728, Dawgs down, BEARS UP BITCHES!!
Posted by calij81, Sun Sep-08-19 03:33 AM
All you other dawgs thought you knew!

I don’t want to hear any excuses or bullshit about the rain delay.

I stayed up for this whole game and watched us destroy Eason. I do have to give props to your RB Ahmed, he was running hard for you all in between the tackles.

2702730, congrats you really called your shot on this one
Posted by 3xKrazy, Sun Sep-08-19 08:38 AM
too bad nobody actually watched that shit haha
2702735, damnit!!! Fell asleep. Good call man, great win
Posted by HecticHavoc, Sun Sep-08-19 10:23 AM
Also impressed by USC’s new kid. With ASU looking pretty rough seems it can possibly be an all California P12 Chip.
2702742, man, that had nothing to do with rain delay.
Posted by PROMO, Sun Sep-08-19 11:36 AM
poor execution from the coaching staff on down.

if the media doesn't fry Coach Pete for his late game clock management (this is FAR from the first time) they won't ever fry him for anything. i hate his fucking saintly image for this reason (and he looks even more saintly compared to Cutty Sark which doesn't help).

this is one of those games where in the long run it will be a "good" loss because there's a lot of lessons to be learned all around plus i don't know why people are acting like it's a tragedy for the Playoff because we weren't going there ANYWAY, but in the immediate moment it sucks because Cal has no business even being that close to us especially in a home game.

edit: also, EASON made like 5 guys enter the transfer protocol so he better step it the fuck up.
2702732, All hail Mack brown
Posted by BrooklynWHAT, Sun Sep-08-19 09:08 AM
2702734, Old man Brown wins again. It’s like watching a real life
Posted by calij81, Sun Sep-08-19 09:40 AM
Clint Eastwood movie.
2702736, Chad Morris might never win an SEC game
Posted by HecticHavoc, Sun Sep-08-19 10:26 AM
He starts Hicks, who couldn’t win at SMU, they are getting destroyed by Ole Miss, brings in Starkel who looked pretty decent.

Morris can recruit and is good with the players but damn his staff can’t coach for shit
