From 2015 on I keep thinking "Surely it's impossible for Twitter to get worse", and yet, it always does. The discourse around the 2020 election is already frighteningly dumb and we still have a long way to go.

but even those are mostly for jokes. Twitter is horrendous outside of just looking at memes, I don't even tweet anymore. This is really the only place I want to discuss sports and wrestling on the internet.

I was so starved for intelligent sports convo, I cannot stand any of the talking heads/"insiders" on ESPN and FOX. They flip-flop more than politicians

Reddit is fucking trash, but ESPECIALLY compared to here.

some of the team subreddits are OK if only a lil "homey" (which is to be expected)

but the league boards: r/nba, r/nfl, etc. yeah... dumpster fire

some of the team subs are basically making fun of the league subs.

Just have to know who to follow

because drink stirrer-style agendas would never survive over there.

r/ClevelandCavs was my favorite place to go for live games, especially in 2018... every "LEFUCKYOU 3" was documented

I watch exponentially less sports than I did in my younger days so I spend much less time on this site as a result. And there are a lot of different reasons for why I watch less sports. Not the least of which is that my pro teams are Giants/Mets/Knicks. Enough said.

But with less time devoted to sports throughout the year I feel less guilty in going EXTRA hard on cfb...so my ass is glued on the couch on saturdays from noon until Pac after dark shuts it down. The back and forth here is a really good companion to that. Overall people know their stuff, there's just the right amount of shit talking to make things fun, the homerism isn't over the top, and most importantly we can talk cfb without disturbing levels of ignorance, racism and the like. If you've been around other cfb message boards you know that that kind of shit is pretty standard issue and a big part of the demographic of this sport, unfortunately. So anyways, I'm glad this place is back up and running just in time for kickoff in a few weeks.

I’m glad it’s back in time for CFB because this site has the best group of CFB fans. As you said, this site has the right amount of knowledgeable fans that aren’t over the top homers and genuinely like CFB for the sport just as much for their team. That’s why I wake up early to watch random ACC and Big 10 games at 9am PST and the TV doesn’t turn off until PAC 12 After Dark is over.

I also spend less time watching sports as well but just like this site, I just can’t quite CFB.

partially inspired by a trip to Taiwan I took a few months ago, but mostly just because I think I'm entering my midlife crisis and need a way to keep my brain sharp and make life slightly more interesting.

There should be an acknowledgement and a public apology, as well as all teams giving him or asking for a fair "look" at his skills with sincerity, then letting him say no if he doesn't want to play.

We all know that will never happen.

Therefore, in light of their past missteps around misogyny, the mistreated of injured/retired players around concussions and CTE, covering up and wristslapping criminal players (rape, wifebeating), I will never support the NFL again.

After so many days of checking the bookmarks...I hit my dud Snacks on Twitter like...”I guess it’s really over.” A site I’ve legit been coming to, basically every day, since ‘99...was gone. I had become ok with it. That said, I probably won’t be here much, if at all. Also...I probably will.

They added Anxiety to the list in PA which is going to add so many people to the eligiblity list since almost anyone can claim anxiety, but I actually do have severe anxiety and panic issues I've been in treatment and on meds for for a long time.

That being said, the experience of legally buying weed in a nice store is crazy.

But also, as someone who very rarely has gotten high in the last 5+ years as being in my late 30's with a young kid changes my social life, it's crazy what actually prescribed marijuana can do compared to just smoking it on your own.

All these specific strains made for very specific purposes, 2:1 CBD to THC or whatever. I honestly can hit this, function in my day and just feel non anxious in a way that no medicine or even other weed has ever been able to do for me. Science is some crazy shit.

Hey, it happens. There could be worse topics to discuss. When you're house-ridden (medical issue) , and your outlet has become limited due to that predicament, you look for civil entities to engage online, regardless of the divergence in opinions.
