Put the Warriors medical staff on blast.

In fact, Andre Iguodala dropped something of a bombshell on Tuesday when he said the Warriors knowingly downplayed the significance of his injury when his status for the 2018 Finals was in doubt, saying that Iguodala was dealing with a "bone bruise" when in fact his leg was fractured. Have a listen. It's pretty damning stuff.

2700277, I didn't listen to all of it yesterday BUT I caught...

his opinions on the Mark Jackson situation.

Regarding the injuries though...

If these dudes have issues with their team's medical staff, they should've pulled a Kawhi who looks smarter and smarter by the day.

Can these cats sue the team's doctor's for malpractice?

Anyway, the Mark Jackson points were more important to me. DAGGONE SHAME that the brother is, per others, blackballed.
2700278, What Kawhi did was ballsy as hell
Posted by legsdiamond, Wed Jun-26-19 08:49 AM
Players usually don’t do that.

It worked out well for Kawhi but Iggy is at an age where he probably can’t do that and end out on top.

More players will probably start to do it now that they see how things can go when they come back too early.

2700290, yeah I thought the Mark Jackson stuff was fucked up too but I already...
Posted by ThaTruth, Wed Jun-26-19 09:35 AM
knew about it
2700325, this was the FINALS though, different situation. players wanna play
Posted by ConcreteCharlie, Wed Jun-26-19 02:07 PM
i doubt anyone held a gun to KD or Klay's head. they wanted to be out there. i certainly hope they weren't misled in any way.

i can't speak for the nba but in the nhl there have been numerous instances where the players have put pressure on the medical staff. i can't think of too many that were the other way around.
2700330, Medical staff isn’t supposed to let players... lmao, who am I fooling
Posted by legsdiamond, Wed Jun-26-19 02:19 PM
2700367, I think its less about misleading the player, and more about....
Posted by KnowOne, Thu Jun-27-19 08:51 AM
misleading the fan base, media, coaching staff, and most importantly other players in that locker room who all will then put more pressure on the player to come back too soon.
2700285, damn, Iggy kinda went in. is he on his way out to be dropping this level of dime?
Posted by Dr Claw, Wed Jun-26-19 09:04 AM
2700291, right I was thinking he MUST be retiring lol
Posted by ThaTruth, Wed Jun-26-19 09:36 AM
2700297, Nah - he's guaranteed $17M next year so he's got nothing to lose.
Posted by Brew, Wed Jun-26-19 10:08 AM
2700718, Hope he likes BBQ
Posted by legsdiamond, Mon Jul-01-19 06:56 AM
2700720, he probably won’t be there long enough to hit up Central BBQ, one time

.
2700287, I said on this very board that it felt like they were lying about KD's injury
Posted by Hitokiri, Wed Jun-26-19 09:27 AM
It's always seemed pretty obvious to me that they would lie to the media about the injury athletes have in order to keep the other teams (and the fans guessing). I thought they would be honest about it internally though. Looks like I was wrong on that second part.

Iggy kept it a buck in the interview. Said the Warriors have priced out their real fans.
2700292, I thought the same thing...

2700676, the other teams, with very few exceptions, always know

it's done sometimes to skirt protocol now that concussion protocol is a thing.
2700295, Yeah, it made no sense to me that dubs never came out in
Posted by Cenario, Wed Jun-26-19 09:53 AM
Support of durant saying he cant play.

I gave them the benefit of the doubt to kee toronto guessing about how to gameplan, but that needed to be communicated to KD.
2700301, nothing new © the legendary roots crew...

..Iguodala basically confirmed what we've all been speculating about.

Durant
Steph
Klay
Jackson

The next time anyone fronts on athletes choosing to protect their own interest and secure the bag, please show them this interview.

2700396, It was a good run
Posted by legsdiamond, Thu Jun-27-19 02:36 PM
2700503, No he didn’t. A bone bruise IS a fracture, aka a microtrabecular fracture
Posted by LA2Philly, Fri Jun-28-19 08:19 PM
It’s another example of a lay person not understanding medical diagnoses or nuance. GS should have explained it to him better though
2700664, Got him out the paint...headed to Memphis
Posted by Dstl1, Sun Jun-30-19 10:52 PM

2700677, probably get flipped from there though.
