You’re following the logic that because the calf muscles attach to bone via the Achilles...
...an injury to the calf compromises the Achilles...
But it’s actually the opposite
A calf strain/tear actually releaves some of the tension on the tendon because you’re not exerting the full force on it
The organization stated the worse case scenario they hypothesized was straining or tearing the calf further
Achilles was never considered
Think about it
These dudes run and jump for a living
If every calf strain could potentially rupture an Achilles...I think we would see it more.
Either it was misdiagnosed...or they’re feeding us a line of bullshit
