2688226, This would be massive. Posted by Frank Longo, Mon Feb-18-19 03:08 PM
They could find someone who could actually help the Knicks be good. That'd be great for the NBA.

2688227, Team stays increasing in value despite being terrible Posted by Marauder21, Mon Feb-18-19 03:09 PM
He could be looking at a huge payday when he sells.
I wonder if Spike Lee's going to try and get in as like a 0.05% owner or something

2688230, If he still wants $5B with no MSG ownership percentage, it will be tough Posted by B9, Mon Feb-18-19 03:27 PM
It's a popular and potentially lucrative franchise, but that price for a brand and then not see much of MSG revenue? That's a tough ask.

2688260, I can't see anyone buying without MSG being involved Posted by josephmurf2384, Mon Feb-18-19 07:54 PM

2688275, I’m not a conspiracy guy, but man... Posted by Tiger Woods, Tue Feb-19-19 07:18 AM
- no star power in the East - Knicks trade Porzingis to free up max money... - ...at the same time Kevin Durant is coming up in FA - and Dolan is gonna sell NOW?
Dude, isn’t the league involved in this somehow? Doesn’t it make sense for the league to encourage Dolan to sell, get paid, and then they can FINALLY set up the New York major market outpost they’ve always dreamt of? They tried it with the frozen lottery envelope, but this is even more nefarious. This plan can’t fail. It’s materializing right in front of our eyes.
The Knicks - yes the KNICKS - are poised to be a prime player and THE destination on the East coast here very shortly.

2688279, Player-power league=League can't control shit Posted by B9, Tue Feb-19-19 09:21 AM
The league's interest, viewership and merchandising, is doing fine in NYC with two lump franchises plodding along. Short of allowing player-ownership and starting with a totally clean slate, Dolan/Phil down, there is no way for the league to fix this in the modern free agency era. KD's ego is the only thing that could swing things a bit and even then, under current management, do you trust them to build anything adequate around him? And who is this potential owner that will meet Dolan's insane valuation of a tenant franchise?
