2677746, no idea

2677751, i dont really see the parallel

this team was playing well to start the year and away at psu
2677769, Hes never been able to run the ball
Posted by guru0509, Sat Nov-03-18 02:48 PM
>this team was playing well to start the year and away at psu

And when we had Hyde and Zeke he refused to put the ball in their hands in key moments

Now hes bringing up health issues to the press...

History repeating itself
2677782, OSU has been a top rushing team since meyer has been at OSU
Posted by 3xKrazy, Sat Nov-03-18 04:01 PM
with the exception of this very strange year.

as far as medical issues it's really easy to see that there's a problem...etiher physical or psychological. him bringing it up to the press doesnt really change that.

Florida was off the field chaos and a slower erosion...this has happened literally overnight.

so no i dont really see the parallels other than good things come to an end eventually unless you're saban/bama.

If meyer needs to call it quits then I'm sure everyone will thank him and wish him well. unlike florida fans who are still crying about it 10 years after the fact.
2677819, Except when it mattered the most (4th and short in key moments)

That 31 zip beat down at the hands of Dabo and his team of weirdo sexual deviants was a huge red flag

It's not something you come out and address mid year off an embarrassing loss and a suspension to start the season. Plus him addressing the media and saying there's no friction between him and Gene Smith is an obvious confirmation there is a huge issue between the two

>
>Florida was off the field chaos and a slower erosion...this

For now I'm just banking that the coaching is off and they miss fickell combs etc badly... Coaching changes need to be made asap. Studrawa is a BUM.

At what point does meyer start considering using Tate Martell more to open up the RPO... Haskins is a God damn statue

What a sad ending lol smh (assuming this isn't a one year aberration)

2677743, hope Khalil Tate can stay healthy next year
Posted by will_5198, Sat Nov-03-18 12:17 PM
different offense but he has 153 rushing yards...TOTAL for the season

last year he ran for 1,411
2677752, I agree and I know it was just Colorado but Tate looked great
Posted by calij81, Sat Nov-03-18 01:17 PM
He could always run but his passing was a bit erratic last season. If Arizona has one positive for a season in which Tate struggled with injuries and a new offense it is that it appears his passing game has improved.
2677749, Is Urban Meyer done?

By that time the game was over, but this win is a big step in his growth. He had never played well in a conference game against a team with better talent. I hoped this progress would have taken place sooner, but late is better than never. It's a big win for him, Odom, and the rest of the team.

Emanuel Hall came back this week and he's been the x-factor in MIZ's play, at least against Power 5 teams. I don't know how well he played this week but his presence likely shored up our passing game by giving Lock a receiver he was sure of.
2677789, Good win! 3-0 vs ranked teams this year

2677795, Big 12 officials in this WVU-Texas game are some sensitive bitches
Posted by calij81, Sat Nov-03-18 06:29 PM
They have thrown two flags for unsportsmanlike conduct on WVU players for flashing the horns down sign after scoring a TD.
2677803, after the first one they should've known
Posted by will_5198, Sat Nov-03-18 06:54 PM
WVU made it hard on themselves when their star LT got ejected for throwing a half-punch
2677806, I agree that WVU, especially Will Grier should have known better
Posted by calij81, Sat Nov-03-18 06:57 PM
That second one could have cost WVU the game had Texas gotten a big kickoff return or hit on one big pass play to put Texas in FG range. At the same time, if Texas gets to flash the horns up sign after a TD then their opponents should be allowed to flag horns down. Just another example of officials and the powers that be trying to regulate the fun out of football.

On a side not, Will Grier hit his hero ball for the winning TD and scored the 2 point conversion. I’m happy for him.
2677809, fuck Will Grier
Posted by will_5198, Sat Nov-03-18 06:59 PM
2677812, Thanks Will, that’s the response I was trying to get
Posted by calij81, Sat Nov-03-18 07:04 PM
All his dumb shit was rewarded on that last drive: hero ball thrown off his back foot for a TD, big run to score on the two point conversion followed up with a dumb penalty but still wins the game.

Posted by calij81, Sat Nov-03-18 07:06 PM
Luckily, SC found Darnold and was able to win it with relative ease. This has basically been the south for the last five seasons and what it would have looked like if SC didn’t have Darnold.

I honestly thought -14 for this game @ night in Death Valley was ridiculous.

Ordinarily it would be ridiculous.

But this might be the best team Saban has had at Bama

Tua, with that trio of sophomore receivers, is unstoppable. and although Saban has had better defenses top-to-bottom, he's got one All-American at every level and the best interior lineman he's ever coached in Tuscaloosa (the whole nation got to see Quinnen Williams, Destroyer of Worlds).

need Notre Dame to finish 4th so they can get obliterated by a playoff record margin.

What did you see on Saturday that provided inspiration for the Bucks? Usually Ohio State throttles the next opponent after a loss under Meyer. They were lucky to escape with a win. As a 'Husker fan it is encouraging as 2AM is going to be a star in the Frost O.

Ohio State also wasn't very impressive against a pretty bad Minnesota team. I still think Fleck is more hype than substance.

let's take ND/Mich for example. these two teams played head to head. ND won. ND has significantly upgraded their qb since that game. yet mich is now lined as a 7pt fav over ND right today.

so i guess shit can change over the course of the season.

I take nothing at all for granted and there's no way at ALL I'm thinking OSU in Columbus would be easy in any year.

Bama isn't even on my radar for consideration at this point. I honestly don't know how good we are because the Big Ten is subpar this year. Honestly, all of college football outside of Bama is kinda down this year.

I will say this though - we still have a good amount of upside potential, we've still yet to put together a complete performance leaving everything on the field.
2677978, no.
Posted by cgonz00cc, Mon Nov-05-18 02:04 PM
im saying that relying on WRs to make great individual plays vs Hill/Long/Watson will never be sustainably successful
2678001, I don't see Michigan winning that battle either
Posted by will_5198, Mon Nov-05-18 07:13 PM
Tua is too accurate. he can throw a receiver open against tight coverage better than any QB in the nation.

Grant Delpit is as good a safety as anybody Michigan can trot out, and Tua still laid a dime on Irv Smith to break that game open last Saturday.

Michigan would have to knock Tua out.
2678043, well then that will be a tip of the cap, but im not convinced
Posted by cgonz00cc, Tue Nov-06-18 11:46 AM
UM's pressure packages are the other side of that coin, and Bama hasnt seen anything like that yet

is Bama's OL *that* much better than Wisconsin's?

2678063, no, but Hornibrook is not in the same galaxy as Tua
Posted by will_5198, Tue Nov-06-18 02:35 PM
>is Bama's OL *that* much better than Wisconsin's?

and their offense is set up completely different from bama

Michigan has a very good defense as usual, but I don't see how they moved to all-timer status this year...bama's offense is playing like a historic unit
2677933, they'll beat michigan like a drum
Posted by bshelly, Mon Nov-05-18 09:14 AM
and i think michigan is really good. like, might pick you in columbus good. but saban with a month to prepare against a one dimensional offense is going to be ugly.
2677936, and this is key
Posted by 3xKrazy, Mon Nov-05-18 09:29 AM
>but saban with a month to prepare against a one

list me all the teams who have beaten alabama at their own game.

you can't out-bama alabama. they will kill you.

and this alabama offense is a supercharged, more mobile version of their previous iterations.
2677960, Michigan’s D can do what LSU did
Posted by bshelly, Mon Nov-05-18 11:20 AM
Michigan’s D is better and will get some support from their offense, but it won’t be in the Big House either. I think that game would end up like 31-10 bama.
2677996, I just dont know how we can annoint mich's D

-they lost to Winbush and ND
-beat up on hornibrook, injured lewerke, injured Mcsorley

and we're going to extrapolate those results onto Tua and that monstrous bama offense?
2677998, because its full of NFL players

its perfectly reasonable to judge it as elite

Posted by 3xKrazy, Tue Nov-06-18 08:31 AM
mich's best defensive effort is against...hornibrook?

sorry there's just no way to extrapolate from anything we've seen that mich is going to put in work against bama. 'they have a lot of nfl players' isn't really much of an answer. OSU has a lot of nfl players on D and they suck ass.
2678042, well thats easily explained lol
Posted by cgonz00cc, Tue Nov-06-18 11:43 AM
UM DC: Don Brown, flanked by Greg Mattison

OSU DC: Greg Schiano, who i told you was just ok and you acted like i was telling you aliens have landed
2678079, way to veer off-topic
Posted by 3xKrazy, Tue Nov-06-18 04:33 PM
and OSU has fielded terrific defenses under Schiano so tough to say that he's the sole reason why the D sucks now. OSU's comprehensive struggles are due to a variety of factors.
2678215, kerry combs leaving was a killer for our secondary

2678219, oh shit, I didn't even realize that
Posted by will_5198, Wed Nov-07-18 07:09 PM
yeah, Coombs had that Ohio State DB pipeline running as smooth as ever. elite recruiter to boot.
2678229, i don't really buy that
Posted by 3xKrazy, Wed Nov-07-18 10:39 PM
he wasn't considered an elite coach by really anyone but more of a recruiter/motivator guy.

fickell however was a huge loss and the drop off since urban hired the best man at his wedding to coach the lb's has been evident.
2677938, yall cant stay within 28 of them
Posted by BrooklynWHAT, Mon Nov-05-18 09:32 AM
2677979, dont see *anyone* scoring 4 TDs vs UM. that ill go on record about.
Posted by cgonz00cc, Mon Nov-05-18 02:06 PM
2677837, this Texas Tech game is insane
Posted by HecticHavoc, Sat Nov-03-18 10:43 PM
TT just scored to get within 2 and they throw a pick-2
2677850, I hate college football

Posted by 3xKrazy, Sun Nov-04-18 08:43 AM
that was rough
2677859, well, that was inevitable
Posted by bshelly, Sun Nov-04-18 11:34 AM
we're a bit down this year at the end of a brutal schedule run, and michigan's a legit top 5 team coming off a bye. even if mcsorely were healthy, we weren't going to be particularly competitive. him being hurt turned it into a route.
2677893, LMFAOOOOO
Posted by cgonz00cc, Sun Nov-04-18 07:35 PM
>we're down a bit this year

more like Michigan was down more than a bit last year

othwrwise this is squarely on the line of best fit
2677895, seems like last year fit in pretty well with their previous 15+ years
Posted by 3xKrazy, Sun Nov-04-18 07:42 PM

>more like Michigan was down more than a bit last year

they've beat up on a bunch of beleaguered and overhyped big 10 squads with pitiful qb play and now it's time to crown them

we've seen this movie before.

BUT BUT THIS YEAR IS DIFFERENT

no. we've seen this movie before.
2677904, UM is 4-1 last 5 vs PSU, and 13-5 for last 2 decades+
Posted by cgonz00cc, Sun Nov-04-18 09:42 PM
seems like a fairly clear trend
2677907, ok. didn't realize you were speaking about the um/psu series specifically
Posted by 3xKrazy, Sun Nov-04-18 10:03 PM
2677934, i just meant relative to the last two years
Posted by bshelly, Mon Nov-05-18 09:20 AM
congrats on beating us during the sanctions, and good job picking an arbitrary stopping point that made the rivalry seem as good as possible for y'all.
2677966, The irony of running up the score cuz u were mad they ran up the score
Posted by Ceej, Mon Nov-05-18 11:49 AM
Was not lost on me.

At some point someone has to use their head tho. This faux bad blood will just keep flowing for really, no reason.

WITH THAT SAID, Yes, Harbaugh challenging a clear catch was just so extra, BUT I like that they were trying hard to preserve that shutout because fake Tebow was trying his hardest to score to ruin it. So I have no problem with playing it out when both teams clearly havent quit.

Last year tho, fuck that noise.
2677991, RE: The irony of running up the score cuz u were mad they ran up the score

>Was not lost on me.

LOL ya know????

I thought I was the only one who picked up on that haha.

I mean lets cut the shit already. Is there any coach/team out there that doesn't run it up eery now and then for whatever reason? XYZ fan base getting all self righteous about it is a bad look.

At this point, just play better defense and you won't have to worry about it.
2677997, 100 percent in favor of running up the score in DI
Posted by bshelly, Mon Nov-05-18 06:05 PM
you don't like it, stop it. we're all young adults here.
2678003, do you feel like you've made a point here?
Posted by cgonz00cc, Mon Nov-05-18 07:45 PM
because PSU beat Nick Sheridan, John O Korn, and Tate Forcier for 3 of those 5 wins lol
2677965, Fun story, I bet a couple friends Bama -30
Posted by Ceej, Mon Nov-05-18 11:46 AM
All you that watched, know exactly how dumb that worked out for me.

They are not getting touched this year.
2677975, damn, so close
Posted by KiloMcG, Mon Nov-05-18 01:30 PM
2677976, Did you watch the game?
Posted by Ceej, Mon Nov-05-18 01:31 PM
They missed 2 extra points!!!!
2677992, feels like about 90% of the time when a team misses an ex pt
Posted by 3xKrazy, Mon Nov-05-18 05:34 PM
it impacts my bet. it's uncanny.

same goes for 2 pt conversions.
2677999, Right after the 1st botched snap, I said that’s gonna bite me
Posted by Ceej, Mon Nov-05-18 06:35 PM
It’s unreal how that shit happens
2678004, im cool with a Bama Clemson Michigan Oklahoma playoff
Posted by HecticHavoc, Mon Nov-05-18 07:57 PM
Georgia shouldn't have lost to LSU if they wanted to even talk tough for the playoff at this point but im just assuming Bama is going to destroy them in Atlanta.

USC will beat Notre Dame!

cgonz said that nobody can put 4 touchdowns up on Michigan (LMFAO) and Ohio State will for sure put up at least 4.
2678019, Yes please to Bama Oklahoma. All the points.
Posted by bshelly, Tue Nov-06-18 07:38 AM
2678024, The way everything else in the Big12 is teetering out, OU wont make it
Posted by B9, Tue Nov-06-18 09:12 AM
My dumb prediction is OU blasts OSU this weekend, then West Virginia lays an egg against OSU, preserving Gundy's job, and making the finale a pretty pointless WVU/OU game. Texas will get beat at least one more time, likely against Iowa State, making the championship game a lackluster Iowa State/OU game. Even if they run it, unless a lot of other people take bad ones, I can't see OU making it into the top 4 given the chumps in the conference.

2678047, Notre Dame put up 3 TDs on yall in the first half
Posted by HecticHavoc, Tue Nov-06-18 12:09 PM
and has 3x said, the best offense you've played since is... Penn State.
2678048, Well that will change come Saturday

2678054, thats so lazy
Posted by cgonz00cc, Tue Nov-06-18 01:36 PM
each of those TD drives had AT LEAST one automatic irst down penalty on 3rd down, and not all of them great calls

and one of those touchdowns was a bomb that M's backup safety put 2 hands on and basically passed off to the NDs receiver

once the penalties were squared away, ND put up less than 100 yards over 2 and half quarters
2678057, PLEAS COPPED
Posted by HecticHavoc, Tue Nov-06-18 01:56 PM
Mich has a good defense, but you guys have played utter horseshit all year. looking forward to you playing a decent team for the second time this season!
2678066, just saying.
Posted by cgonz00cc, Tue Nov-06-18 03:07 PM
the first 2 drives of the season look like extreme outliers today
2678118, sad day when Brian Kelly is better than the coach at USC. Helton will get canned
Posted by guru0509, Tue Nov-06-18 11:30 PM

2678181, USC needs to quit worrying about the coach's connection to the Trojans
Posted by DeepAztheRoot, Wed Nov-07-18 01:18 PM
and just be a big dollar school and find the best man for the job
2678197, but theyre not
Posted by 3xKrazy, Wed Nov-07-18 02:35 PM

and they just shelled out a ton of money due to a wide scale sexual assault issue and im not sure if that will have any impact on their athletic spending
