2733198, There is a huge contrast between Winslow and Sharper. Posted by allStah, Sat Mar-06-21 04:36 PM
So they don’t belong in the same boat. Sharper knew what he was doing was wrong, and had no history of abuse or mental illness. He made calculated efforts to render women unconscious so that he could rape them.
Winslow wasn’t right since day one. This is the same guy who said on national TV that he was a soldier and that he was invincible. This is the same guy whose teammates begged coaches to not assign them the same hotel room with, because he masturbated out in the open.
This guy had unchecked social issues since day one, and should have been under the watchful eye of a mental doctor. He was clearly out there ,and his understanding of right and wrong was/is obviously distorted.
And not only that, his family and friends played a role in cuddling his issues. For there to be personal responsibility, there needs to be an awareness of what responsibility is, and awareness that one has a problem. He had and has none of that. He showed not one single emotion in court, and relatives and friends came everyday to support him. He probably saw it as consensual.
If someone has been programmed to be a certain way for his entire life, there not going to know or realize anything else. He is responsible because he did those crimes, but he isn’t solely responsible because of what he was exposed to and how his mind was conditioned.
