Took Atlanta to the ECF in two years, and he's been the best regular season coach in the NBA for his tenure at the Bucks. Most of those Buck losses to Toronto in the ECF Year 1 came down to the wire too.

There's also sample size like a motherfucker going on for anyone tossing him under the bus for this series already, lol. Milwaukee was a Top 5 3 point shooting team this season-- they genuinely worked on their bad shooting last year (18th in the NBA) and fixed it this year, shooting 39% as a team on a high volume. So far this series, they're shooting under 25% from 3.

So, like, yeah, if they continue to shoot 14% below their usual team 3-point percentage, they're going to get swept. But firing Bud over that would be dumb imo. It's the same people who said "Tony Bennett will never win in the NCAA Tournament!" because he was a brilliant regular season coach but had bad fortune in the dance. Like, if you're a brilliant regular season coach, and you get enough swings at the bat... you *will* more likely than not break through.

There's no arguing against the "but he hasn't done it yet!" set, because context doesn't really matter to them. But teams that fire an elite regular season coach to chase the title dragon with a new coach? That... doesn't work out the majority of the time.

And every NBA franchise that doesn't love their coach is *salivating* at the thought that Milwaukee could potentially fire Bud.
