depending on the context. it's just another metric to use and in the context of this year it should've been weighted more heavily IMO. especially when you had two top 5 teams playing in the game. sometimes we have conf championship games which are total mismatches.
like ive said if you want to put in a 2nd team from a conference they better be really fucking good and have some objective evidence to demonstrate that
