2630837, How long before Luke Kennard is a Top 5 Shooting Guard in the NBA?
Posted by Basaglia, Sun Nov-19-17 09:28 AM

Stan is playing him now. He producing. Unlike some of the young SGs, he's not a high volume scorer. He's efficient, already shooting 49%FG/39%3FG.

so, there's...

1. Klay
2. Jimmy
3. Derozan
4. Beal
5. Oladipo
6. Gordon
7. Tyreke
8. Avery
9. Dion
10. Hood

Yeah, Kennard will be top 5 in about 2 years. Imagine that. And I almost wasted this agenda on some Malik Monk shit. SMH.

2630839, Damn @ that smooth Devin Booker & McCollum hate

2630843, I actually meant to list CJ in the top 5. My bad. Booker a loser.
Posted by Basaglia, Sun Nov-19-17 11:25 AM
2630865, pretty safe to call him a loser while he's on the suns lol
Posted by ConcreteCharlie, Sun Nov-19-17 02:32 PM
2630889, RULES ARE RULES! Chriss and Jackson ain’t Anthony Bennett
Posted by Basaglia, Sun Nov-19-17 04:35 PM
2630842, Jaylen's a noticeable miss on this list right today
Posted by thejerseytornado, Sun Nov-19-17 11:24 AM

8. Tyreke
9. Gordon

2630847, You're posting from inside of your feelings again bro.
Posted by TheRealBillyOcean, Sun Nov-19-17 12:10 PM
2630848, Well, you're going for it.
Posted by Frank Longo, Sun Nov-19-17 12:13 PM
I'd have gone Top 10 in 3-4 years if I wanted to stake a claim. You chose higher risk, higher reward. I very much hope you're right for Luke's sake. Last season was as enjoyable an offensive performance to watch as I've ever seen a Duke player have.

I also would've included Booker on my Top 10 list, obviously. 24/4/4 on 46%/38% from 3 when you've just turned 21 is impressive regardless of how shitty the team is. But I'm sure the post will reach platinum much quicker due to his exclusion, and we'll likely get at least three funny derogatory nicknames for Duke/UK players in this post as a result, so I won't complain.
2630851, Booker is directly responsible for his team’s successes and failures
Posted by Basaglia, Sun Nov-19-17 12:31 PM
He’s proven to be a loser after getting lottery pick after lottery pick to help him. Sound familiar? RULES ARE RULES!
2630867, three or four ten-point games and he's that level? um, k.
Posted by ConcreteCharlie, Sun Nov-19-17 02:34 PM
nah man this dude will be lucky to establish himself firmly as a starter.
2630882, no need to get crazy the other way tho
Posted by cgonz00cc, Sun Nov-19-17 04:16 PM
he's good
2634173, saying he is a good reserve/borderline starter is not an insult, is it?
Posted by ConcreteCharlie, Sat Dec-16-17 05:20 PM
2634176, he IS going to be an NBA starter. and a credible one, no luck.
Posted by cgonz00cc, Sat Dec-16-17 05:38 PM
2630890, lucky to be a starter from The World Renowned Fence-Straddler
Posted by Basaglia, Sun Nov-19-17 04:38 PM
I can work with that. Hell yeah.
2634172, Sorry if there is a narrow to medium range of possibilities
Posted by ConcreteCharlie, Sat Dec-16-17 05:18 PM
We can't all proclaim someone top 10/5/1 and then vehemently go the other direction ten seconds later.

I see you are bringing back a tired joke that didn't stick five years ago, not much to work with when you're riding one agenda real hard and a couple others kinda meh, right?
2634174, no idea what you talking about. you mad you said he couldn't start.
Posted by Basaglia, Sat Dec-16-17 05:30 PM

you are a fence-straddler. i have absolutely no idea why you even bring your ass in the pre-draft thread.
2630935, i wish SVG would stop giving his minutes to Langston Galloway
Posted by cgonz00cc, Sun Nov-19-17 07:42 PM
actually i wish they hadnt even signed him, but i digress

Luke's defense is not good (yet, hopefully) but id rather take the lumps and let him develop. i have similar, tho lighter, feelings about Ellenson and Anthony Tolliver. but AT does way more for us than Galloway so i get it.
2630957, Luke Kennard had 2 more points than Tyus Jones. They combined for 2 pts

2630966, Luke won that game with his contributions. They needed him. He showed.
Posted by Basaglia, Sun Nov-19-17 10:35 PM

Unlike alleged star John Wall.
2630970, Forgot he was in the league
Posted by Beezo, Sun Nov-19-17 11:03 PM
2631006, hes a contributor on a top 6-7 team. dont be obtuse.
Posted by cgonz00cc, Mon Nov-20-17 09:16 AM
2634152, first start last night with Avery out
Posted by cgonz00cc, Sat Dec-16-17 09:44 AM
did 9/5/4 on only 6 shots...which is actually his biggest problem so far. too deferential, and passes up shots he should take.

doesnt seem "scared", just...overly respectful maybe? get yours rook!

i also kind of like he and Stanley coming off the bench. Moreland and Tolliver are limited offensively and having 2 wings that can handle the ball in PnR is a huge help. Also keeps Luke from having to guard other teams' instant offense 6th men, even tho his defense has been adequate against both guards and wing forwards.
2634166, I wonder if part of that has to do with SVG.
Posted by Frank Longo, Sat Dec-16-17 01:19 PM
I know traditionally he's given pretty short leashes to rookies, although he's obviously made exceptions. Though maybe he's turned around on that.

Still, glad to hear the defense has been acceptable. It honestly improved *a lot* between freshman and sophomore year, and I thought the defense's issues stemmed more from scheme and the lack of big man inside than they stemmed from Luke's ability to defend 1v1. He's a high-IQ enough player that he should be able to read situations well enough to remain competent on that end.
2640785, With Avery gone should be his time to shine, no?

2641273, Donavan BETTER.

2641280, Yet he STILL has better numbers than Mr. Untouchable.
Posted by ThaTruth, Sat Feb-03-18 12:22 PM
2641283, and yet...he's not untouchable. you mad?
Posted by Basaglia, Sat Feb-03-18 01:25 PM

there is nothing on this board better than a basa W. the panicked, hopeless scrambling for cover makes my eyes wider than a belladonna scene in a prime.

2655674, ppl acting like he's Malik Monk or something
