Butch Jones already up to his same tricks; he keeps running the read option with his slow-ass pocket passing QB. who just fumbled.

putting your players in a position to fail. literally the definition of bad coaching.
2623437, :(
Posted by cgonz00cc, Sat Sep-23-17 11:55 AM
hes intent on turning that into a bad loss for us
2623446, Butch gets called for unsportsmanlike conduct
Posted by will_5198, Sat Sep-23-17 12:20 PM
UMass goes from 2nd and 10 from the 11 to 1st and goal from the 5 -- next play is a touchdown, of course. 7-6 Tennessee right before half-time.

BTW UMass is 0-4 and has lost to Coastal Carolina.
2623452, FSU is gonna have to be a defense-first team all year
Posted by cgonz00cc, Sat Sep-23-17 12:42 PM
Feed Akers and get stops

They will win zero shootouts
2623485, tough to throw Blackman into a ACC game with no warm-up
Posted by will_5198, Sat Sep-23-17 04:30 PM
NC State had them on the ropes last year too, but a Wolfpack DB dropped a pick and Francois led them to the game-winning TD
2623466, Tennessee 17, UMass 13 (3Q)
Posted by will_5198, Sat Sep-23-17 01:27 PM
year *five* of the Butch Jones era
2623475, Vols have 42 yards of offense in the 2nd half.
Posted by will_5198, Sat Sep-23-17 02:05 PM
UMass is 89th in total defense.
2623474, Another solid aTm - Arkansas match
Posted by HecticHavoc, Sat Sep-23-17 02:02 PM
And when I say another, I mean Arkansas w a early lead and losing and it in the fourth quarter.
2623486, been really entertaining the last few years
Posted by will_5198, Sat Sep-23-17 04:32 PM
also unfortunately sort of both team's high point of the season most years too
2623480, Oklahoma St TCU is going to be fun today
Posted by HecticHavoc, Sat Sep-23-17 03:19 PM
James Washington makes it look so easy. Just torched double coverage for 87 yards on a perfect throw. Kenny Hill and TCU are moving the ball well
2623481, okie st going through the motions
Posted by 3xKrazy, Sat Sep-23-17 03:54 PM
they shot their wad against the early season cupcakes
2623487, Kenny Trill is back!!
Posted by calij81, Sat Sep-23-17 04:35 PM
2623482, does everybody seriously not care that darnold
Posted by 3xKrazy, Sat Sep-23-17 04:00 PM
throws a lot of interceptions?

everyone too busy throwing a parade for the guy I'm not sure they've noticed
2623483, I hope he throws four more today
Posted by calij81, Sat Sep-23-17 04:17 PM
2623504, Ross Bowers was listening.
Posted by will_5198, Sat Sep-23-17 06:47 PM
2623505, Haha, yeah the wrong QB was listening to me
Posted by calij81, Sat Sep-23-17 07:05 PM
Oh well, maybe next year we will end this losing streak.
2623484, he's got that white playmaker pass.
Posted by will_5198, Sat Sep-23-17 04:27 PM
see: Luck, Favre, Eli

of the ones I've seen, most are him refusing to just eat a sack and forcing the ball downfield. usually when his mechanics and footwork go to shit. he also makes some spectacular plays doing that so he keeps going for it.

but in the NFL he won't have as forgiving defenses. so he will have to adjust.
2623490, he throws a pick and then mccelroy compliments him for his short memory
Posted by 3xKrazy, Sat Sep-23-17 04:52 PM
cool
2623491, Nope. Just part of the package like jameis
Posted by BrooklynWHAT, Sat Sep-23-17 04:54 PM
2623492, Good drive by Cal but no points
Posted by calij81, Sat Sep-23-17 04:56 PM
2623493, Clemson is in an outright struggle
Posted by will_5198, Sat Sep-23-17 05:00 PM
not usually great when you have a higher yards-per-play average running than throwing. BC only has 200 total yards but turnovers have kept them in it.

should be a great Dabo press conference afterward, either way.
2623494, I love that Cal is wearing the Joe Roth throwback uniforms
Posted by calij81, Sat Sep-23-17 05:04 PM
We are going to wear them each year at home when we host the LA schools.
2623495, Vandy wanted bama
Posted by will_5198, Sat Sep-23-17 05:05 PM
45-0
2 first downs
52 yards of total offense

you can't be a ball-control, win with defense team and beat bama. because they do that better than you do. lining up in a pro-set with a mediocre QB is giving Saban the white flag.

2623506, #15 Auburn 14 - Mizzou 0
Posted by obsidianchrysalis, Sat Sep-23-17 07:17 PM
The first two drives summed up the 2017 season for the Mizzou Tigers.

Two decent plays get Mizzou to 3rd & 1. A false start knocks them back to 3rd & 6. A dive stops at the line of scrimmage.

After a punt, Stidham thows a 58 yard bomb and scores two plays later when the RB runs untouched in the endzone.

More missed tackles. Missed assignments. Dropped passes. #BringBackPinkel
2623510, Am I the only person who doesn't 'get' the Iowa fans waving at the kids?
Posted by obsidianchrysalis, Sat Sep-23-17 07:31 PM
It's a nice gesture but I also don't get why everyone in the media is fawning over this new tradition.

Folks who answer that I have no soul, could in fact be correct tho.
2623515, Because Iowa loves da kids! Who doesn't love a feel good story about
Posted by calij81, Sat Sep-23-17 07:55 PM
Kids! Especially kids with cancer!
2623516, No!
Posted by obsidianchrysalis, Sat Sep-23-17 08:08 PM
This is part of a 'participation trophy' agenda where kids are given respect for not EARNING A WIN over their disease.

LOL

It is nice and I do like public gestures of compassion. But then again I don't like the stories about kids with illnesses and Make-a-wish type evens for some reason.
2623519, Saquon Barkley might be the best player in the country
Posted by Tiger Woods, Sat Sep-23-17 08:41 PM
Every time I watch him I see Brian Westbrook
2623520, he's the best player not named Lamar
Posted by 3xKrazy, Sat Sep-23-17 09:10 PM
i see a little Clarett in him
2623532, Lolz. They're only similar in size. That's it, that's the list (c)
Posted by Mignight Maruder, Sun Sep-24-17 06:15 AM
Barkley has Clarrett beat by a considerable margin in everything else you want to judge a college or future NFL RB by.

Clarrett had 1 brilliant season and then let his own ignorance derail his career. Barkley is coming off 2 great seasons and still putting up crazy #s with a huge target on his back every game.

Barkley is a 1,000 times the receiver Clarrett was.
Barkley is a better blocker than Clarrett was.
Barkley is much more versatile than Clarrett was (can return kicks)
Barkley is much more agile and has better open moves than Clarrett
Barkley is much stronger than Clarrett ever was (can rep 225 30+ times and maxes at 450, can squat 650 and clean over 400lbs)
Barkley is much FASTER than Clarrett ever was (Clarrett ran a 4.8 at the combine whereas Barkley is in the 4.45-4.5 range)
And most importantly, Barkley seemingly has none of the fatal character flaws Clarrett had. Barkley is revered for his humility and leadership and has a strong family support. I'm glad Clarrett finally got help and admitted to his struggles, but it took him too long to mature.

This is what Kirk Ferentz had to say about Barkley last night:

"The running back's a special player," said a weary Kirk Ferentz, Iowa's head coach and the longest-tenured head coach in the college game.

"He's a tough guy to tackle. I don't know if I've seen any better in my 19 years here."

Barring a major injury, Barkley is a lock to be a top 10 pick in the NFL Draft. Clarrett may have been a high pick had he came out as a FRESH, but I highly doubt he would have progressed and became the complete back Barkley has become.
2623538, Jesus christ calm down. It was a compliment
Posted by 3xKrazy, Sun Sep-24-17 08:11 AM
And was strictly comparing his running style - not their character, bench press numbers or favorite foods. Very low to the ground and powerful with outstanding vision and way faster than you would think.

But thanks for all that effort you spent putting me in my place! Yikes
2623557, I'm actually quite calm, you?
Posted by Mignight Maruder, Sun Sep-24-17 12:42 PM
Just highlighting all the ways in which Barkley is different from Clarrett.

Has this place changed so much where that is considered weird or offensive?
2623607, it wasnt the least bit offensive
Posted by 3xKrazy, Sun Sep-24-17 03:31 PM
but it was a weird tangent.

since again...it was a compliment.
2623541, Lmao at your hatin ass tryna get a seat at the table
Posted by bshelly, Sun Sep-24-17 08:18 AM
Clarrett. He back in jail or nah?
2623543, and this is why PSU fans can't have nice things smh
Posted by 3xKrazy, Sun Sep-24-17 08:24 AM
because y'all are deranged and take your hero worship to a weird level...as proven during and after the joepa era. do you even remember that whole thing happened? the lack of humility and weirdo moral judgment is apparently still alive and well.

i get it, y'all haven't had anything to cheer up about in damn near 15 years but maybe wait to unleash the angry mob shit on someone who actually *criticizes* what i guess is now the greatest running back the world has ever seen. i mean, check out his squat numbers and teacher recommendations and the way dogs wags wag their tail when barkley walks into the room!
2623544, waking up and seeing that this innocuous post caused such a reaction
Posted by 3xKrazy, Sun Sep-24-17 08:34 AM
was prob the last thing i would've expected, lol.

pretty easy to see why this board has lost pretty much of all it's traffic. SAD!
2623569, LMAOO...talk about an inferiority complex.
Posted by guru0509, Sun Sep-24-17 01:58 PM
you clearly ruffled mignight and shellys feathers with that compliment.

lol @ getting this riled up over a damn saquan barkley.

maurice clarett had more impact in one season (positive and negative) than this dude has in 3 years.

woopty damn do

2623534, I LOVE Westbrook, but Barkley's way stronger and more durable.
Posted by Mignight Maruder, Sun Sep-24-17 06:45 AM
Andy Reid grossly underused Westbrook - I think Westbrook could have been a borderline to HOFer had he been used properly and maintained better health.

Personally, I think a more apt comparison would be a stronger version of Curtis Martin. Another multi-purpose back with great strength, speed, agility, and vision. Obviously Barkley's a far more polished and accomplished college RB, but their running style is similar.
2623545, damn...this stretch of replies got really strange...
Posted by Dstl1, Sun Sep-24-17 08:50 AM
really fast.
2623547, had to rewind his highlights out of awe
Posted by Flash80, Sun Sep-24-17 10:41 AM
that sideline dance/start n stop/shake n bake/stutter step or whatever it was just insane.
2623524, WOW
Posted by will_5198, Sat Sep-23-17 10:13 PM
2623525, Never should have come down to the last sec, but WOW at that throw
Posted by Mignight Maruder, Sat Sep-23-17 10:19 PM
and catch. Tip of the cap to Barkley on a phenomenal performance. 200+ rushing & nearly 100 yds receiving. And most of those yards came after contact or via his own brilliant moves.
2623539, PSU escaped.... ND spray farted in Sparty's mouth
Posted by LegacyNS, Sun Sep-24-17 08:16 AM
