Busy with Bagley right now. Will tend to this once it's settled.

And yes I'm prepared to cyse the Knicks and Zingis.

But, again, I was already rolling with the Celts this season.

2618263, Not a game. Y'all gon stop actin like he fuckin Lillard or Wall
Posted by Basaglia, Fri Jul-21-17 10:55 PM
Shit is dead. He's proven who he is on the biggest stage and I think he's got way more in him at 25. You wanna talk some shit and double down about what how good he CANT BE again? Cool. I'm wit it. But I stand by what I said. His shooting percentages across the board are better than Kobe. And I won't even say no petty shit like if he were 6-7, 210 this wouldn't be close, but I'll just say if Kobe were 6-3, 190 this wouldn't be close.

Crazy you been holding out hope for a fucking 21 year old bullshitter like Russell to level and screaming patience, but the idea of 25 year-old Kyrie, already putting up numbers as second fiddle to a GOAT, just MAYBE got a another level in him that cannot be tapped into in his current circumstance. I'm betting if he had the greenlight Kobe and some other niggas got, he'd damn sure win some scoring titles and an MVP.

But I never doubted him in the first place. *shrug*
2618266, He's not Lillard or Wall. He's also not Kobe.

And I won't

Kobe asked for the other guy to be traded.

I mean if you want to be The Man and LeBron is one leg out the door anyway, then go to Gilbert and say: get something for him now. This was your team, they drafted you #1, remember?

I mean I get why Rie wants out, he not a 2-way player, so his impact on a mediocre/bad team is limited, so he wants to go somewhere like Utah or team up with somebody. But that's not what Kobe did.
2618273, lol, he wants to play in New York or Minny? he's Marbury 2.0

I knew something was off with him after the "flat earth" comments.
2618285, huh?
Posted by ConcreteCharlie, Sat Jul-22-17 09:08 AM
they also drafted lebron #1 and it has been his team twice. further lebron is probably leaving and where will that leave cleveland? also the lakers are the lakers, especially then when buss was alive, and LA is LA. we are talking about a top-two organization all-time and a dream city for a pro athlete. the cavs are the cavs and cleveland is cleveland. they could be born on third base and need a throwing error to cross the plate, and the city drab as shit. so pretty different circumstances there.

Posted by Basaglia, Sat Jul-22-17 10:24 AM

Bottomline.

Got rid of the only GM he trusted to make sound decisions.

They already let it leak they tried to trade him first and that was a factor in Griff bouncing.

Now Bron is OPENLY setting up his second exit. All these lil "ha ha he he....wink wink" Laker jokes that Bron is playing up instead of categorically denying?

I don't know how many times it needs to be said, but Kyrie ain't like the rest of these niggas. He's mentally tough and don't care what people think. He ain't got time for Bron and Mav's Game of Thrones bullshit. He's not a pawn. And the fact that some people are actually getting angry at him for taking his fate in his own hands just proves to me that people ain't been paying attention to who this guy is. All niggas know is Uncle Drew and flat earth. Well, meet Kyrie, niggas.

2618316, Vocal minority of Cavs fans have to stop blaming Ky
Posted by Kira, Sat Jul-22-17 04:21 PM
In order of fault:

Bron - All this passive aggressive pushing to LA is old. He was more than likely consulted about trades including the one that would've sent Ky to Indiana for PG13. He pushed for the current roster construction and seemingly slyly heading for the exit door leaving this Cavs team in a bad spot.

Comic Sans Dan - Fired the best GM in the league and allowed Bron to walk over him building this roster into one built around Bron versus Ky. Has not tried to smooth things over with Ky at all.

Ky is well within his right to want out. As fan it just seems like a bad idea considering we're coming off a finals loss. This idea that he wants to be the man on a team without help is laughable considering he wants a trade turning his new team into a bad roster without help. If he wants out then he has to go west. Play in the western conference with the Warriors.

There's no way we can trade Ky especially to Miami. Ky has two years remaining on his deal so we can take our time. He really wants to go to New York without either Melo or dat Zingis. IF Ky gets traded to say San Antonio we shouldn't do the deal for anything less than Kwahi + extras. Whatever team he goes to gets raided to the point where barely anything is left. At bare minimum we need a young perennial all-star(s), two preferably three first round picks, and a franchise cornerstone as well. No washed up halfway out they prime old niggas allowed. The team we trade with has to take one of our bad contracts too.

So basically we giving Ky the Mamba treatment as we rebuild around him. I never thought I'd say this but if Bron wants out that badly then we need to consider trading Lebron. Lakers can make the offer of a lifetime to acquire him if he wants to go there that badly.
2618320, LOL @ Kawhi + extras....you gotta take a break, fam. It'll be fine.

>RE: LOL @ Kawhi + extras....you gotta take a break, fam. It'll be fine.

Your team goes from winning a title and reaching three straight finals to near basement status possibly en route to losing your homegrown superstar and young elite point guard in the span of one season. Lie to me and tell me you wouldn't be pissed.

Cleveland is seeking a bundle of assets, but the highest priority right now is snagging a blue-chip young player, according to sources across the league.

Yeah Kawhi amongst other young players fit that criteria with some picks. Ky has to go out west otherwise we'll regret it.

This is not going to be okay because this hurts our chances of making it out of the east. This is worse than the Kobe Shaq situation by 1 million miles. RT, Celts are favorites to make the finals and win at least three games against the Warriors. It sucks because I wanted Bron to reach eight straight finals.

I'm just getting ready to be disappointed.

Fuck this shit (c) Angry Fan

2618326, Dan started the domino effect of fail actually...
Posted by mtbatol, Sat Jul-22-17 07:16 PM
As you said he murked the GM as he was tryna make moves for PG.

James ain't wanna fuck around after that & knowing damn well how shitty Danny Boy is going all willy nillie. They promoted the assistant GM Kobe but too little too late for him to do anything meaningful aside from figuring who to trade Kyrie to.

Kyrie wants to do more than take over a squad of his own, since he'd have 2 years of running solo if he stay put. Even after Lebron leaves, the remainder of Gilbert still looms like a pulsating large white pus bump
2618345, LOL we got all the cards tho

-Kyrie appreciative but unhappy with bron
-wants to be more of man like wall and dame
- slightly jealous of bron privileges
- cavs had a Pg trade agreed upon and started celebrating before Pritchard withered them.
-Kyrie u happy he was in trade talks
-Kyrie told dAn, after consulting with friends around league
-cavs have known since summer league started of the trade demand
-now they will take their time and process best deal but now that news dropped they don't hold all the cards

Posted by Basaglia, Mon Jul-24-17 02:03 PM

2618440, Kinda agree, but here's the problem: He ain't the No. 1 on the Spurs
Posted by ConcreteCharlie, Mon Jul-24-17 01:09 PM
Kawhi is the best player on that team and Irving's arrival won't change that. There are a lot of NBA teams where Irving would be the best player, but it's difficult to envision those teams winning a title. Also, let's face it, the Spurs don't have the much to offer in trade. LA+Mills? Seems a little light, plus then they are pretty short on bigs going forward.
2618444, he'll be #1 on O. like when Pop gave TP the keys.
Posted by BrooklynWHAT, Mon Jul-24-17 01:22 PM
then Kawhi can focus in on D and supplement Kyrie's O.

Kyrie in for TP would be criminal really.
2618447, OK, but we're talking about No. 1 period
Posted by ConcreteCharlie, Mon Jul-24-17 01:56 PM

2618457, Kawhi the best all around player in the league.
Posted by Basaglia, Mon Jul-24-17 02:30 PM

yes BW said no. 1 option on offense, and i said that isn't the same as the No. 1 player, alpha dog, whatever.

anyway i think we both agree this is largely moot until we see where he ends up.
2618461, RE: he'll be #1 on O. like when Pop gave TP the keys.

I don't see that happening...Kawhi has taken his game to an entirely different level...Dude is a walking MVP candidate now....

and the way this has all gone down, I especially don't blame him.

Like, and I think Steph's better and by a bit, but come the fuck on. THAT'S LITERALLY WHAT WE GIVE ALL THE CREDIT TO STEPH CURRY FOR. Yes, if Ky could win a chip with that team, that'd say something great about him because he still won a title as the guy.
2618657, OK except Steph is probably the best shooter ever & a two-time MVP

2618460, RE: Given a strong enough cast, he can be a title team's #1
Posted by murph71, Mon Jul-24-17 02:35 PM

I think it's less about strength of his cast and more about him being surrounded or playing with very specific players that fit well with Kyrie's very specific style of play and exceptional skill set....

Like someone else said, I could see Ky thriving on the Milwaukee Bucks (he would be paired up with a do-everything, slashing nightmare who also plays D in Giannis...)

I also see him meshing well in MN (Again...same formula....Jimmy Buckets, a SF who plays defense, can pass the ball when he needs to and keeps defense's honest)....

I think Ky would struggle to get in the playoffs if he's the best player by a wide margin....But dude would be an absolute nightmare if he's in a setting where he can just be Kyrie and fill it up on the offensive end. He is virtually unstoppable on a one-on-one scenario.

Just keep him away from the Knicks.....
2618466, he would be pretty sick on the bucks, yeah.
Posted by ConcreteCharlie, Mon Jul-24-17 02:53 PM
all that length in the frontcourt and him running wild off the dribble and around the arc.
2618442, nah i dont think so. but he'll be straight.
Posted by BrooklynWHAT, Mon Jul-24-17 01:21 PM
2618455, plus he already got a chip and played a big part in it
Posted by ConcreteCharlie, Mon Jul-24-17 02:27 PM
he isn't as pressed as say KD who accomplished it all on an individual level but never got a ring.

again i could see this in a year but the timing is weird AF. ride it out one more season, take the opportunity to win and grow your own role at the same time.
2618439, Btw what does "busy with Bagley" mean? Leading the recruiting effort??

2618456, I mean, it's Duke's best shot to have an all-timer since Can't Heal, so I get it

2618458, That your best chance to make Duke fans mad, I guess. *shrug*

Grant Hill jokes are the last refuge of true bitchmade Duke-haters
2618462, My school produced DC, Melo and a bunch of bullshit. I get it. . .
Posted by magilla vanilla, Mon Jul-24-17 02:40 PM
2618472, DC big trash ass wasn't nobody. Elton and Booz did more than him
Posted by Basaglia, Mon Jul-24-17 03:26 PM
2618478, Booz played in more games, but that about it
Posted by DJR, Mon Jul-24-17 03:49 PM
He wasn't near the player DC was.
2618486, DC is 50 and you still tryna cyse potential. Booz had better career
Posted by Basaglia, Mon Jul-24-17 05:17 PM
2618487, Nah, DC did more his first 5 years than Booz did his whole career
Posted by DJR, Mon Jul-24-17 05:26 PM
2618489, And yet...Second round Boozer had a better CAREER
Posted by Basaglia, Mon Jul-24-17 05:41 PM

2618507, More points and boards in less seasons? Better playoffs stats?
Posted by Basaglia, Mon Jul-24-17 09:20 PM

Y'all like the idea of Coleman. He wasn't shit. Milsap and Dave Lee had better careers, too
2618510, That's just dishonest, Boozer played more games
Posted by DJR, Mon Jul-24-17 09:34 PM
The points and rebounds per game are basically the same, but Coleman was a better passer, shot blocker, and more versatile as he could handle the ball and shoot from the perimeter.

Coleman's best in the playoffs was better than Boozer's.

>Y'all like the idea of Coleman. He wasn't shit. Milsap and

More All NBA teams than Boozer. Better.
2618517, nobody that knows anything about basketball would ever
Posted by Warren Coolidge, Mon Jul-24-17 11:04 PM
say Boozer was anywhere near the player DC was..

it shows how big Duke busts have been when they got to throw Carlos Boozer and his shoe polish fade up against a real star like Derrick coleman
2618524, less all- star games and worse career playoffs. And 44% FG? LMAO
Posted by Basaglia, Tue Jul-25-17 12:36 AM
2618588, All NBA >> All Star, shooting from perimeter = lower percentages
Posted by DJR, Tue Jul-25-17 04:03 PM
2618593, well, booz made a living midrange...and?
Posted by Basaglia, Tue Jul-25-17 05:07 PM

just because you wanna use one of the main criticisms of coleman's game as an excuse for his brick ass FG%, it don't mean i'mma let it slide.

EVERYBODY from malone to barkley said he need to get his big ass in the post and eat.

he just ate, tho. and ate. and ate.
2618658, I'd take DC but it's razor thin and it shouldn't be
Posted by ConcreteCharlie, Wed Jul-26-17 04:55 PM
Coleman had way more talent, mostly threw it away. Probably his most dedicated season was 03 in Philly when his body was already shot to shit. He got a nice $9M or $10M junk contract (after he was clearly done) for his effort though. He played with so much heart that year.
2618676, DC was always overrated. He shot 3s, people lost they mind
Posted by Basaglia, Wed Jul-26-17 09:27 PM

was a big deal for a big to be able to hit a couple threes and dribble without losing the fucking ball in the late 80s and early 90s.

and clif robinson did all that shit better than him. so did vin baker. so how good was he REALLY?
2618679, Nah
Posted by DJR, Wed Jul-26-17 09:35 PM
He was a hell of a rebounder too. Good passer, good fundamentals, played with an edge.

Media didn't like him so it's a character flaw that his body broke down early, instead of the sad story it is for the guys they like.
2618687, "played with an edge" <----immaterial and unquantifiable bullshit
Posted by Basaglia, Wed Jul-26-17 11:09 PM

not that good. all we have is the empirical and statistical proof. NOT. THAT. GOOD.

you can talk and talk and plea and plea...the numbers are what they are. he did what he did.
2618691, immaterial and unquantifiable bullshit - "noted"

Pre injury, he was 20 points, 10 boards, 3-4 assists. Very good.
2618692, RE: immaterial and unquantifiable bullshit - "noted"
Posted by Basaglia, Wed Jul-26-17 11:49 PM

pre-injury Booz was 21/10/3

oh well.
2618516, There are more Duke Alums in the pro football hall of fame
Posted by Warren Coolidge, Mon Jul-24-17 10:55 PM
than the Basketball hall of fame..

lolololololol......

2618523, there are more post-2000 title trophies at Maryland than in UCLA

So where u want him to land, dog?

Milwaukee, MN, NY, Miami?
2618473, I've learned what I want don't matter. We'll see what happens
Posted by Basaglia, Mon Jul-24-17 03:29 PM
2618494, Highest obvious upside is the Knicks. You want the Knicks.
Posted by Tiger Woods, Mon Jul-24-17 06:48 PM
He could be the real Linsanity there, average a near triple double en route to a 7 seed and Knicks fans would throw him a parade.

Heaven forbid he makes an East final with Porzingis, they'd build him a statue.

Knicks is the answer
2618640, Kyrie would be great on NYK
Posted by ShawndmeSlanted, Wed Jul-26-17 03:25 PM
For a lot of reasons...but what makes you think he could average anywhere near a triple double?
2618648, he'd average 40 before he averaged a 3-D
