It's the worst I have seen and I have no reason to believe that in an era with six or twelve teams there was LESS depth on Cup winners.

Rutherford alluded to the Carolina team in 06 that won without a number one but they at least had a decent producer in Frank Kaberle and a bunch of top-four-ish guys who blocked shots and were able-bodied. Not only did the Pens not have any name guys but the guys they had were all beat up. Schultz, Cole and Daley were all seriously hurt at a MINIMUM, I guess we'll know tomorrow if there were others.

They got Hainsey who ended up playing a lot and Streit whom they kept off the ice unless it was absolutely necessary, which was weird. Hainsey was playing good minutes on a bad team. Streit is pretty old and a power-play specialist, I guess they didn't trust him 5on5 much.

I will say that some of the guys played better than their reputation. That was the case last year, too, but because Letang was the big-name guy and he played extremely well (IMHO should have won the Conn Smythe) it was overlooked. Daley and Lovejoy were great last year at times. This year Schultz and Domoulin I thought played over their heads at times.
