2608293, The numbers are undeniable. Posted by denny, Thu May-11-17 09:55 PM
Pointing out the Conn Smyth winner for the pens that is otherwise more than 50% Canadian doesn't refute the argument.
Of course...I'm speaking of a combination of the aggregate amount of Canadian players and they're relative worth.
Again....The 2017 Capitals would have been the LEAST Canadian to ever win the cup. By a measurement that combines total players and the weight of their roles. EVER.
Again. Here's the past Stanley cup winners:

Right click on each to see the nationality make-up of each team. Find ONE who is less Canadian that the 2017 Capitals. The closest you can come is Detroit. And they were an anomaly. Year after year....the teams with Canadian players win. It was no secret that this was basically Brian Burke's entire strategy with the Ducks. The post 2000 Kings did the same thing and got two cups out of it.
Make a list of the Canadian players on those teams you took acception to. Then make a list of Canadians on the Capitals 2017 team. Voila.
