this bum ass defense they are playing and a near total lack of a possession game was not a winning formula. i feel like if the caps were going to choke it was in game 5. today they had no real pressure on, not in game 7 it's pretty neutral in those terms but physically they are in better shape.

sid coming back was a bad idea. he is not up to his own standards and he probably re-concussed himself today. talked to a veteran defenseman, guy who was a team captain and two-time cup winner who also had a couple bad concussions. he told me all the signs were there postgame. he hoped to be wrong but experience told him sid got his bell rung again. were two losses where he played at half speed worth it? bad decision, unbelievably bad decision, and one with no payoff.
