I really feel he should've won that match against Brock as well - that would have solidified him for life. It was no holds barred so he could have got the win a hundred different ways that would have protected Brock's status.

I also feel the "Lunatic Fringe" thing didn't "go" where it needed to. There really isn't anything unpredicatble about him like there was with Austin when he first got going. I think back to that Stone Cold podcast you referenced and in that moment at the end, I really wanted Dean to hurl a mic or flip the table over or something when Austin called him out but he just had this deer in the headlights look which was a terrible reaction.
