2602736, They're at odds with themselves-

say what you want about the product these days, but there's no denying that the WWE does digital better than any big sports league. They're the early adopters on everything, super engaged with their fans online, and obsessed with their social numbers. Top that off with how ahead-of-its-time the Network was and from the outside looking in they seem like a really forward-thinking company who sees digital as their biggest opportunity for growth. Simply, they seem in touch with consumer behavior in 2017.

But that progressiveness is in stark contrast to how they actually produce shows and create content. They do far too much.

No one wants to sit still through a three hour TV show on a Monday night or endure a FIVE HOUR pay-per-view. As we saw this season, not even the all-powerful NFL is immune to disinterest. You would think that the WWE gets just how many entertainment platforms there are now and how short people's attention spans have gotten - again, they seem to really get how crucial an organized digital strategy is to growing. But it's overboard.

This is totally speculative, but I sense that Stephanie oversees the digital side of the house while Vince is firmly planted in the creative side still. Total stab in the dark. But that would explain the chasm between their stellar digital effort and their excessive content production schedule.
