2578660, CFB 11.26: Rivalry Week
Posted by will_5198, Thu Nov-24-16 11:12 PM
LSU 54, Texas A&M 33
remember when Sumlin and A&M said they weren't going to start fast and flop again? just got kicked in the face at home by a lame duck coach. Etling passed for 300 yards for the first time in three years and Grice set the LSU rushing record (285 yards). that's four straight conference losses for the Aggies, who haven't finished in the top three of the SEC West since Manziel's freshman year.

Friday
(5) Washington @ (23) Washington State
(16) Nebraska @ Iowa
(19) Boise State @ Air Force
(20) Houston @ Memphis
(21) Western Michigan vs. Toledo

Texas vs. TCU
UNC vs. NC State
Arizona vs. Arizona State

Saturday
(1) Alabama vs. (13) Auburn
(2) Ohio State vs. (3) Michigan
(4) Clemson vs. South Carolina
(6) Wisconsin vs. Minnesota
(7) Penn State vs. Michigan State
(9) Colorado vs. (22) Utah
(11) Louisville vs. Kentucky
(12) USC vs. Notre Dame
(14) Florida State vs. (15) Florida
(17) Tennessee @ Vanderbilt

Georgia vs. Georgia Tech
Ole Miss vs. Mississippi State
Wyoming @ New Mexico
Oregon State vs. Oregon
Virginia Tech vs. Virginia

That has such great potential for "Pac12 after dark" madness and its wasted on a Friday at 12:30, what a disaster.

A&M's collapse shouldn't be surprising but they still don't have Knight back right?

Friday has some shitty games besides the above mentioned, the Arizona ASU games are always defenseless affairs, but both of these offenses are so incapable of productivity it might even be defensive!

Shameful that Norte dame is such a travesty or this usc game would've had national implications.

Looking forward to seeing Vandy beat Tennessee again.

Wouldn't mind seeing Florida win to get some confidence going into the slaughter awaiting them in Atlanta.

Our only hope as fans is that The Game they call it up there is worth watching otherwise we are stuck with a rather boring weekend.

Actually I take that back, I'm really excited for the all the marbles pac12 south battle between Colorado and Utah. Doesn't usc win the south if Colorado wins?

Does auburn lose within 30?
2578662, USC in the CFP is still possible...Go Utah

2578675, Knight played and Garrett is hurt. but they just suck.

Colorado wins the division if they beat Utah. USC beat Colorado but the Buffs have one less conference loss.
2578698, Tom Herman is fighting for his next job right now
Posted by PimpTrickGangstaClik, Fri Nov-25-16 03:37 PM
Down by 4 against Memphis with 3mins left in the 4th.

Is LSU gonna still want him if he reveals his mediocrity? Maybe Texas can still scoop him up
2578744, Houston finished fourth..in the AAC *West*
Posted by will_5198, Sat Nov-26-16 12:08 AM
they're sixth place overall in the conference.

just for reference, the current sixth place teams in the Power 5:

- Miami-FL (ACC)
- Nebraska (Big 14)
- Utah (Pac-12)
- Texas A&M (SEC)
- TEXAS (Big 12)!!!
2578832, The next great white hype
Posted by legsdiamond, Sat Nov-26-16 03:54 PM
I don't see what makes him so great. Reminds me of Strong at Louisville.

2578859, do you watch college football?
Posted by guru0509, Sat Nov-26-16 04:48 PM
and Charlie Strong was a great coach at Louisville...wtf

>I don't see what makes him so great. Reminds me of Strong at

you didnt see Herman beat the living shit out of FSU with far less talent?

or Oklahoma? Or Louisville?

or Ohio State vs Alabama/Oregon two years ago?

he's reached the ceiling with Houston.
2578714, Always feels good to smack the Cougs around.

one more game and we're Final Four'ing.
2578747, A perfect mix of a blowout and moments of false hope for wazzu
Posted by HowieDooem, Sat Nov-26-16 12:31 AM
The best kind of rivalry win in my book.
2578749, i'd be lying if i thought we'd open up that kind of lead.
Posted by PROMO, Sat Nov-26-16 12:38 AM
i expected a closer game, but the defense really showed up today.

i thought we were in for a nail-biter when Aaron Fuller ran that wildcat play and didn't pitch to Gaskin (who would have got AT LEAST 15 yards if not more) and tried to cut the defender and came up short on 3rd down. it was 35-17 and WSU already had momentum after getting a TD off Kevin King's stupid holding penalty on 4th down.

fortunately (for UW fans) that didn't materialize.
2578757, DE COACH O!
Posted by bshelly, Sat Nov-26-16 09:03 AM
Worst AD on the planet?
2578821, Always liked Coach O for some reason
Posted by MothershipConnection, Sat Nov-26-16 03:22 PM
Even though he coached at USC for a long time. Maybe I just find his accent hilarious. I don't think he's a particularly good head guy, but having a crazy ass Cajun who can recruit his ass off and makes questionable strategic decisions at LSU just seems right.
2578824, Wow lsu

2578853, It wasn't in same sequence, his next possession he fumbled
Posted by HecticHavoc, Sat Nov-26-16 04:14 PM
And Heisman'd in the end zone after he scored initially but it was back to back possessions
2578849, On to the ACC ship now that that scrimmage is out the way

2578903, this Tennessee defense is something else
Posted by will_5198, Sat Nov-26-16 11:00 PM
Vandy has nearly 600 yards of offense -- their next best offensive performance this season was 501 yards against Tennessee State. Vols are leaving *multiple* gaps uncovered on the same play! this is beyond injuries, this is the inability to get 11 guys to play high-school level assignment football.

Oklahoma would ring up 60 if these teams ended up in the Sugar Bowl.
2578904, Ha! The multiple gap on the same play had me dying
Posted by J_Stew, Sat Nov-26-16 11:11 PM
like is it even possible to do that?
2578905, offense getting in on the stupidity to end it
Posted by will_5198, Sat Nov-26-16 11:13 PM
Kamara, who I love, running out of bounds three yards short on 4th-and-7 to end the game...what a finish to the SEC East season!

2578920, Auburn in the Sugar Bowl
Posted by DeepAztheRoot, Sun Nov-27-16 03:16 AM
Only 4 Teams in the SEC with winning conference records, someone has to go
2578909, I wish they would stop sidelines from using these dumb ass signs
Posted by legsdiamond, Sat Nov-26-16 11:28 PM
I have no idea what those money signs on the Florida sideline mean but do they really have to jump up and down like idiots while holding it?

Whoever started these goofy signs needs to be banned from football.

Tennessee is a gotdamn embarrassment.

PITTS offense is ridiculous but their defense is pathetic. If this coach doesn't change the scheme on D what's the point?

2578947, Props to Franklin on a hell of a coaching job and cheers to a strong
Posted by Mignight Maruder, Sun Nov-27-16 10:48 AM
finish. Now that the old regime has been fully purged, I can feel much better about my fandom. Don't think I'll ever be as fully invested as I used to (still disgusted by so many fans)be, but it's great for the players and the young generation of PSU fans. Franklin will still have his skeptics (I'm still not 100% sold on his coaching ability), but he's doing a fabulous job this year and he's doing outstanding work on the recruiting front. Just hope the ride continues in the championship and hopefully the Rose Bowl or playoffs. Honestly, I don't even care if the team makes the playoffs - just seeing them win the Big10 Championship and possibly Rose Bowl would be sweet enough.

2578998, amazing job.
Posted by will_5198, Sun Nov-27-16 03:54 PM
the odds on him winning the same division as Ohio State and Michigan this year seemed practically zero.
2579008, When you frame it in that perspective, it's absolutely amazing.
