(1) Alabama @ (9) Tennessee
(2) Ohio State @ (8) Wisconsin
(16) Miami-FL vs. UNC
(12) Ole Miss @ (22) Arkansas

Notre Dame vs Stanford
Colorado vs Arizona State
Washington State vs UCLA

light on ranked match-ups this week, but four of the top ten are playing each other.

Dores shutting down the Bulldogs run game: Chubb and Michel have 66 combined rushing yards...on 26 carries.

of course, Vandy has 34 net passing yards through three quarters...

LB Zach Cunningham made a hell of a play -- scrapped across two gaps to tackle McKenzie off-tackle, right at the sticks. amazing game by him (19 tackles)

turnover game for Tigers

Rutgers also fired the cannon after a missed field goal by the Illini, you take your good moments when you can get them I suppose

Eastern Michigan up 3-0 on Ohio....worst job in FBS IMO, ....pulling for the good folks in Ypsilanti to get to a bowl this year

2570209, the question is where you actually watching this game?

two outside zone plays were the left defensive tackle ran two gaps away from where he should've been. then they got caught in a nickel blitz on a reverse.

they've already smoked Colorado & ASU, who play each other tonight. i dont see either of them finishing above USC.

they play @ Washington in a few weeks, that's probably a preview to the P12championship.

just trying to Marv Albert the Trojans so my Devils win the south.

2570492, one of the most shocking storylines of the season
Posted by will_5198, Sun Oct-16-16 10:13 PM
they could pull a miracle out of their ass against Michigan or Ohio State, but that's just the past talking. losing four in a row, getting blown out by BYU and Northwestern, allowing 54 points to the latter (the same Wildcats team that scored 7 points against Illinois State) -- they are dreadful by every measure.

and it's the usual heavy mix of upperclassmen that are starting. just completely out of nowhere for one of the strongest programs of the last half decade.

Barret loses zip on anything over 30 yards.. It starts floating. He's obviously the best to run Urbans system but he doesn't have the gun to air it out. Esp with young wrs and no safety to fall back on. (Devin Smith, Michael Thomas etc)

2570331, i would call it inconsistency more than inaccuracy
Posted by 3xKrazy, Sun Oct-16-16 10:11 AM
and really arm strength is a bigger problem than accuracy.

but i don't really get why he looks so bad at times and so good at others. conservative game plans from the outset really seem to rattle him.

it's interesting that the rumors are him going pro after this season. yet the nfl has no need for the one thing that he does consistently well - run the zone read.

OSU is bringing in a lot of qb recruits who are pass first players...this offense is going to have to evolve in that direction. being able to pass the ball on the road is kinda important.

Clemson and Alabama would be even sweeter.

losing to MSU that year was 100x worse...losing to MSU last year was 1000x worse.

OSU defense was atrocious in 2013 and i had no expectations for the bowl game where nothing was really on the line. roby out, spence out...that game was whatever to me.

2570464, what asshole in the AP voted for Michigan #1?
Posted by HecticHavoc, Sun Oct-16-16 08:24 PM
http://www.espn.com/college-football/rankings

1. Bama (60)
2. Ohio St
3. Michigan (1)

the coaches looks like
1.Bama(61)
2. Ohio St (2)
3. Clemson (1) -- this team should've lost at home to NC State and a coach still gives them a vote for 1.
2570475, Why not? They have the best defense in the country right now.
Posted by cgonz00cc, Sun Oct-16-16 09:17 PM
Wisconsin ran for 71 yards on 28 carries and had 3.5 yards per *pass* attempt
2570497, plenty of reasons why not
Posted by HecticHavoc, Sun Oct-16-16 10:36 PM
Michigan has two good wins, Wiscy & Colorado
Ohio St has two good wins, Wiscy (road) & Oklahoma (road)

Michigan doesnt even have a difficult road game until the final game @ Ohio State. clearly its a great we'll see circumstance but at this point in the season it is hilariously wrong to issue them a #1 vote.

you dont have to try and convince me.

regarding Colorado, honestly, they arent that solid... but they have gotten MUCH better as the year progressed... beating Oregon got them feeling confident, they battled with an improved USC team (cmon) and they just beat the absolute shit out of a decent ASU team.

honestly i was just trying bring some pity to the MIchigan fans who are bragging on their season thus far

seemed like USC really outclassed colorado that game but kept them in the mix with a lot of costly turnovers in colorado territory. my friend was texting me during the game and was saying the talent disparity was huge.

and didn't colorado have to play the 2nd half against mich with their backup qb?
2570742, Washington has played absolutely no one
Posted by DeepAztheRoot, Tue Oct-18-16 01:00 AM
They should get the same skepticism that Baylor and Nebraska get, and for good reason. Though I do believe they are much better than both of those teams.

Putting up 70 points on Oregon? zzzz
Stanford zzzzzz
Arizona zzzzzz (might be the worst team in the Pac-12)

non-conference schedule is horrible

I'm not going to say Michigan is a world beater but they have proven more than Washington has thus far. Wisconsin is light years better than anyone UW has played and Colorado is better too.

Utah will be their first test.
2570959, Washington still has plenty to prove...but so does mich
Posted by 3xKrazy, Tue Oct-18-16 04:31 PM
but i don't understand putting them in the same category as Baylor and Nebraska (who were fortunate to beat oregon at home - meanwhile wash went to austzen and humiliated them).

at least wash has left the confines of their zip code...we're in mid-october and mich has only been away at rutgers? cmon.

like, maybe a computer with basic A.I. intelligence would ping a scientist and be like "hey, scientist, this team has the best defense statistically, with every counting and tempofree stat (whatever the entire fuck that means), this should garner a first place vote!"

and the scientist would laugh, pat the computer on the head, and say, "computer, you haven't watched any of the games this season. Michigan has played a bunch of children, and Alabama and Ohio St have played decent teams"

They have at least 4 DL that will be drafted this year, maybe 5 (Charlton, Wormley, Glasgow, Hurst, Godin)

The best cover corner in the country 2 years running

And the national defensive POY (who also happens to be the 1st team AA PR in waiting)

There is a ton of NFL talent, as much as anyone. And a coordinator who had the #1 total D last year.

and have not played anywhere near the schedule that bama has.

if mich somehow makes it into the playoffs and squares off with bama they'll share the same fate as msu did last year. hopefully the country will be spared of having to watch that.
2570774, but so will OSU so what you're point?

2570790, No one here thinks we would get crushed by Alabama, other than you.

Alabama has trouble with spreads. That archaic pro set Harbaugh trots out would get devoured by Alabamas d line & linebackers.

Your quarterback sucks, your running backs are barely average and your wrs suck too. O line is average as hell. Not a single 1st round pick on offense

I'm laughing just picturing it

If any of you michigan fans want to put money on The Game plz let me know . Minimum bet 5 maximum 500

2570958, yep. just like last time osu faced bama. with a 3rd string qb.

your 'osu is gonna lose by 50' predictions are pretty much standard issue at this point...and always proven to be 100% wrong. it is what it is.

http://www.tampabay.com/blogs/bulls/report-big-12-wont-expand/2298490

One of the most prolonged, preposterous teases in college athletics finally ended Monday when presidents of the Big 12 Conference essentially voted not to expand and remain a 10-team outfit.

Sports Illustrated's Pete Thamel and Chip Brown of HornsDigest.com, both citing anonymous sources, reported the news first Monday afternoon.
