2542656, Does Lebron have enough help this time?
Posted by RaFromQueens, Wed Dec-31-69 07:00 PM
Last I saw Vegas has it Cavaliers +180 and Warriors -210.

SOMEBODY GET LEBRON SOME HELP!!

Poll question: Does Lebron have enough help this time?

Poll result (33 votes)
Yes (19 votes)Vote
No (9 votes)Vote
Let's see what happens first (5 votes)Vote

2542659, He does. They have to put out some great effort.
Posted by Dr Claw, Wed Jun-01-16 08:02 PM
If they can't win in 7, they ain't got it.

Now last year was some bullshit. LeBron still stole 2.

2542660, hahaha
Posted by justin_scott, Wed Jun-01-16 08:18 PM
"if they can't win in 7, they ain't got it." is like an athlete saying "whoever scores more points will win." but really though, if Cavs don't win in 6, they won't win game 7 in Oakland.
2542673, Cosign. Cavs better get it in 6.
Posted by Frank Longo, Wed Jun-01-16 11:45 PM
2542685, I'm not counting them out in 7, either.
Posted by Dr Claw, Thu Jun-02-16 05:55 AM
OKC goes NyQuil in the 4th. Cavs get handed that same condition, GUILE.
2547629, thus far, this has happened 2 times

2542661, Well, the Warriors are better 2-12, so no
Posted by bshelly, Wed Jun-01-16 08:25 PM
2542735, not better at 1 too?
Posted by 40thStreetBlack, Thu Jun-02-16 11:03 AM
didn't you call ppl saying Bron still the best the flat earth society?
2542776, yes they are, but
Posted by bshelly, Thu Jun-02-16 12:38 PM
i don't see how this is a strike against bron if he loses. his supporting cast not as good, and he's probably no longer good enough to make up the difference on a player as great as steph. i'm willing to reconsider if steph plays subpar like he did games 1 and 3-6 last series.
2542744, Better team doesn't always win a 7 game series
Posted by LBs Finest, Thu Jun-02-16 11:33 AM
We weren't better than Portland in 2000 or the Kings in 02, Warriors beating a 67 win Mavs team in the 1st round, etc...
2543986, OKC just knocked off a 67 win Spurs teams w/ championship pedigree

Steph
Klay
Lebron
Durant
Bogut

Iggy and Livingston still coming off the bench
2542664, LOL.... Lebron would do some weak shit like that tho

What about Dre and Barnes??
2542665, Barnes has to go if they get KD...
Posted by Anonymous, Wed Jun-01-16 09:25 PM
And not only am I sick of Draymond...he won't be able to be the leader with Lebron there any way.
2542687, lol. LeBron would sooner go back to Miami.

Lebron
KD
Steph
Melo
CP3

All in South Beach with Wade and Bosh as assistant head coach

You never know!

Posted by Frank Longo, Wed Jun-01-16 11:47 PM
Cavs will be much better with Kyrie and Love (and Frye, honestly) on the floor than they were last year.

But the Warriors are better than they were last year too.

Should be a great Finals, honestly. Both terrific teams, both have what it takes to win.
2542707, yeah i want to see these teams go at it full strength.
Posted by Cenario, Thu Jun-02-16 08:39 AM
Glad everyone is as close to 100% as can be expected this time of the year.
2542676, Lebron never has help...WHEN THEY LOSE.
Posted by Kira, Thu Jun-02-16 12:41 AM
It's impossible to verify whether enough help exists until the team loses or Lebron has to carry the offensive load. Preemptively I'm going with the Lebron needs more help excuse because Bron needs more help in the form of a bench.

2542688, you know what the narrative will be if the Cavs win
Posted by Dr Claw, Thu Jun-02-16 06:00 AM
"Steph wasn't 100%"

true or not, they started talking that BS when OKC was up 3-1.

2542723, Steph is hurt tho.. He played well in spite of it the last 3 games
Posted by LegacyNS, Thu Jun-02-16 10:25 AM
So that narrative should only be used if he significantly injures (or re-injures) himself.

He got to the finals with a glorified version of the 2007 Cavs.

The supporting cast is sufficiently talented to win a chip but the mix of talents and personalities might be off.... but that could boomerang on LeBron because he had a big role in building the team.

2542696, He had enough last year, they're healthy is the difference
Posted by bentagain, Thu Jun-02-16 08:02 AM
Kinda feels like the roles are reversed a bit this year

GSW are the juggernaut dealing w/injury and fatigue

and the CAVs are just doing work with little to no adversity, jelling, etc...

if Bron doesn't get it done this year

= Steph >>>.
2542706, on the surface it is, but I feel it's less about

LeBron v. Steph, it's more about

GSW 2-12 >>>>>>> CLE 2-12

(caveat 1: I think Draymond is a piss poor man's "LeBron"-type player and that Giannis is going to be a better player in that vein than he ever will but that's an agenda I'll save until after the Finals)

(caveat 2: LeBron v. Steph when it comes to dragging bags of dildos above their pecking order is a non-contest, I don't think Steph has the same kind of pull, he's a paradigm shifter in a completely different way due to his freakish talent.)
2542698, is Curry ready to go?

Posted by kayru99, Thu Jun-02-16 12:30 PM
Look, the heat should have beat the Mavs and OKC. EVERY other opponent Bron's played has been a better overall team, 1 - 12.

Warriors got a better bench this time, but the starting five is roughly a wash.

This will be an Xs and Os series. There's adjustments to be made that can give either team fits
2542738, absolutely no excuse for either team...
Posted by CyrenYoung, Thu Jun-02-16 11:17 AM
..both teams are relatively healthy (or as healthy as you can expect by this time of year).

both teams have all-stars, future hall of famers, skilled position players, and scrappy hustlers coming off the bench.

its all or nothing.

2542755, "Not enough help" is a legit excuse for 2007 and last year.
Posted by SoulHonky, Thu Jun-02-16 11:56 AM
That Cavs team was overmatched and last year injuries decimated that starting lineup. I'm stunned that so many people seem to overlook Love and Kyrie's injuries last year (and LeBron's performance which was pretty damn great.)

The two Heat losses, obviously, can't fall under that category.
2542756, depends on JR Smith.
Posted by Mr. ManC, Thu Jun-02-16 12:01 PM
he needs to contribute on offense and defend the perimeter.

he does that, Cavs have their leverage.

If not, then splash brothers will go oink.

2542758, another question is: who the hell they getting to defend the Curry-Green PNR?
Posted by Amritsar, Thu Jun-02-16 12:04 PM
sure you could have Lebron do it all series

but his wheels will probably fall off on the offensive end by game 3

2542762, fam you beeen in a bubble???...they got kyrie and love this year
Posted by Cenario, Thu Jun-02-16 12:12 PM
2542765, hahaa. think we both mentioned it before : better off defensively with Delly and TT
Posted by Amritsar, Thu Jun-02-16 12:15 PM
like way better off..

Tristan can at least slide his feet when switched off on Curry. Switching with Kevin Love just feels like cruel and unusual punishment.

and Delly will at least try on defense. Even if he's grabbing and mugging Curry everytime. At least he's actually trying.

2542795, I see a lot of things OKC exploited that the Cavs can't IMO
Posted by LegacyNS, Thu Jun-02-16 01:29 PM
Or at least no to the degree that OKC did...

Like you said, OKC switched on the Curry/Green pick and roll using Durant a lot of times which took away the immediate 3 from Steph. Also, Durant is agile enough to take away an immediate dive to the basket off the switch were as most big are in a trail position right away.

Cavs don't have a Steven Adams offensively. Thompson can do the rebounding part but he's not as powerful as Adams on the low block.

Cavs don't have a Westbrook. Bron is more than capable of driving the lane but he'll be dealing with Iggy a lot. Kyrie can drive the lane but he's not as big and athletic as Westbrook. Also, for Kyrie to be effective he's gotta dish out 8-10 assists like Westbrook if he's the primary ball handlers in the series.

Cavs don't have as many shot blockers either. Adams & Ibaka are pretty good plus guys like Roberson, Durant & even Waiters were making blocks trailing guys driving to the basket.

OKC showed a lot of things you can do to slow GS down but you need similar personnel to pull it off.

LeBron is well past the "no excuses" lane

If the team could unlearn "default isolation play" mode offensively I'd be more optimistic.

besides, GS will just throw in SouthRaleighMan and Ezeli and they'll do the same thing as usual
2545877, the problem is Bron is trying to be GM and the coach
Posted by legsdiamond, Sun Jun-12-16 07:09 PM
Kobe had Phil
Jordan had Phil
Tim Duncan had Pop

Bron had???

Look at Jordan as an owner? Cant draft for shit...

If Bron had a HOF coach he would prolly have 5 or 6 rings. He needs to stop playing GM and just play basketball.

He also doesnt have that killer instinct but a coach like Pop or Phil knows how to mind fuck you into becoming an assassin
2545897, Bron HAD Riley

And steph curry has......Kerr. Are you putting Kerr in this hof coaching category too? Would Lebron be up 3-1 if kerr was coach???

man, please.
2545944, LMAO, Kerr is an 8 time champion...
Posted by legsdiamond, Mon Jun-13-16 08:28 AM
who was coached by Pop and Phil Jackson, played with Jordan and Tim Duncan and just went 73-9.

nigga...

did you really laugh off Kerr like he didn't take the same team (damn near) that Mark Jackson coached and turn it into one of the best squads ever? When a team gets a new coach and goes 73-9 2 years after losing 31 games I think you need to give the coach a lot of credit.

When it's all said and done if his back doesn't break he will definitely be in the HOF as a coach if he stays in GS. They prolly get 2 or 3 more chips if he stays and they keep their core players.

2545953, kerr has 8 championships???
Posted by Cenario, Mon Jun-13-16 09:04 AM
fam seriously, stay over in GD.

2545974, lmao.. i meant 6.. 5 as a player
Posted by legsdiamond, Mon Jun-13-16 10:00 AM
point still stands tho.

nice catch
2545986, Would LBJ be up 3-1 if kerr was coaching the cavs?
Posted by Cenario, Mon Jun-13-16 10:14 AM
Kurt Rambis has 8 championships and worked with phil too btw. Don't mean a damn thing.
2545998, easily... Curry and Klay were cold as shit in game 1.
Posted by legsdiamond, Mon Jun-13-16 10:40 AM
and if they run a fucking offense instead of hero ball they win game 4 in Cleveland.

2546006, lol, k.

2545908, Bron tried to get Spo fired and Riley told him no
Posted by BrooklynWHAT, Sun Jun-12-16 11:16 PM
and that was the end of that.
2545909, exactly, if Bron had a Pop or Phil who told him no and challenged him..
Posted by legsdiamond, Sun Jun-12-16 11:28 PM
to be the best he could be I bet he would have more chips.

Bron is a coach killer.

he is still a veast but if he had 1 coach who had that fire Bron would have more rings.
2545928, Maybe he should consider that when he's forming super teams idk
Posted by Cenario, Mon Jun-13-16 05:45 AM
