Posted by 3xKrazy, Sat Sep-05-15 02:37 PM
Shaw should've taken that NFL money 2 years ago...

2474052, the clustering of big games at 7-8 pm is so wack
Posted by cgonz00cc, Sat Sep-05-15 03:56 PM
Its really gotten annoying over thats couple years

2474057, Will muschamp got Auburn D flying around
Posted by guru0509, Sat Sep-05-15 04:11 PM
But idk if that's just UL offense looking busted
2474060, didnt look that way to me honestly
Posted by cgonz00cc, Sat Sep-05-15 04:21 PM
UL shot themselves in the foot like four times

Auburn doesnt deserve to be up 17-0
2474067, They can't get any rhythm going....
Posted by guru0509, Sat Sep-05-15 04:38 PM
Smh and they tried a 61 yard fg

Wut
2474068, he wasnt short by much either and dead on
Posted by cgonz00cc, Sat Sep-05-15 04:40 PM
That first drive after that dumbass trick play looked good until the penalties happened

And Bonnafon looked good before that disaster of a fumble

The OL is hanging on by a thread tho. At least UL's secondary looks damn good
2474069, well that was a quick 7 for auburn
Posted by cgonz00cc, Sat Sep-05-15 04:44 PM
UL just gotta grind scores and stops now

2474071, This might be the year Cal gets back to 8 or so wins
Posted by MothershipConnection, Sat Sep-05-15 04:47 PM
At the very least they'll put up a ton of points and put pressure on teams... still think Stanford will be OK and will bounce back but their nature gives them a bit smaller margin of error and I've never been impressed with Hogan (even when beating our ass).
2474073, Hogan was hitting dudes in the hands and watching them drop it
Posted by cgonz00cc, Sat Sep-05-15 04:51 PM
I thought he looked pretty good for most of the game

That dropped TD was egregious

But then again Michigan hasnt shut down a spread team...uh...ever :/

Hill is one of the 2 best QBs they will see this year, the other being whoever lines up for OSU

2-2 in nonconf is a high possibility
2474133, welp it just got less interesting

They may be able to get 6 wins and a bowl in the ACC but I don't think you'll really know anything about Rosen or the team in general until we play @Arizona in week 4... have to think this is the last year for London. This has gone about as well as possible for Rosen so far though.
2474086, dont pretend the ACC is wack
Posted by cgonz00cc, Sat Sep-05-15 05:26 PM
Especially after one of your flagship programs dropped a game in evanston lol
2474088, who's pretending?

With the most srs top 15 nonconf wins last year

Lets see what clemson, fsu, Tech, and vpi&su have to offer before getting ahead of ourselves

And please dont tell me you're ready to crown Auburn again? After UGA whipped that ass last year, an ACC team walked out of Athens with pieces of broken hedges adorning their armor.

great offensive showing. Alvin Kamara is going to be the perfect complement to Jalen Hurd.

defensively though...Lincoln Riley is going to love watching this tape. big plays *and* long drives given out like Halloween candy. that can't continue.
2474184, Hoping that defensive showing a lot to do with Martinez being suspended
Posted by Frank Mackey, Sun Sep-06-15 12:18 PM
He's Jancek's eyes up top during the game, so miscommunication could have played a major reason.

Was disappointed not to see Maggitt and Barnett making more plays. Their names were barely called during the broadcast.

Posted by MEAT, Sat Sep-05-15 10:33 PM
And he hasn't improved. That experience is over. Let's go with heard, let's run with Locksley, Swoopes, just won't cut it.
2474169, cosign...dude is awful
Posted by LAbeathustla, Sun Sep-06-15 08:54 AM
2474189, Never thought it would be worse than Garret Gilbert
Posted by THRILLHOUSE, Sun Sep-06-15 01:04 PM
But Swoopes is somehow worse than Gilbert and Case McCoy. Don't get at all why Heard did not play in the 2nd half. Both Strong and Watson said Heard was fine health wise after getting the wind knocked out of him. If the O-Line is gonna be that bad, they gotta go with Heard since he is actually mobile. If the offense is this bad again next week vs Rice, then Strong needs to fire Watson.
2474164, Chad Morris and Tom Herman are taking swings in the on-deck circle
Posted by 3xKrazy, Sun Sep-06-15 07:28 AM
man, I really loved that Charlie Strong hire

maybe he can come DC at OSU after Chris Ash leaves
2474166, A bad, bad day for black coaches

2474185, the fans are going to be more patient than the boosters
Posted by obsidianchrysalis, Sun Sep-06-15 12:20 PM
Apparently 10K Texas fans were at the game. The boosters are not going to be happy about the force of the loss, especially given how badly the team played at the end of last season.

It simply doesn't make any sense that Texas consistently gets top 10 recruiting classes but very few of the players actually produce at the level they are expected to.

Hopefully Strong can turn it around and get to the end of his contract, but it's looking less likely as the weeks continue.
2474731, Strong making a change at OC
Posted by THRILLHOUSE, Tue Sep-08-15 07:07 PM
Said in my previous post that he needs to cut Watson loose, didn't expect it to happen this quickly. Just announced that Watson will just be QB coach now and Jay Norvell is taking over the play calling.
2474141, vernon adams got NAILED on a late hit

it was so deliberate too...after he slide and was on his back smh
2474146, I honestly didn't think it was that bad
Posted by sfMatt, Sat Sep-05-15 11:02 PM
they had to make the call because of the helmet to helmet action, but I didn't really feel like it was that deliberate...

after the fact the dude acted like an asshole, which made it look much worse
2474147, Wasn't the transfer a bit contentious?
Posted by MothershipConnection, Sat Sep-05-15 11:14 PM
I honestly haven't been paying that close attention in the offseason but I had the impression that it was.

I mean it wasn't like it was a guy who was buried in the depth chart leaving for more PT or a guy leaving a terrible situation, he left an FCS playoff contender.
2474148, sure...
Posted by sfMatt, Sat Sep-05-15 11:16 PM
I'm sure feelings are hurt
and the EWU staff definitely made it difficult on him, but whatever
2474149, one of the worst def efforts I've ever seen from Oregon
Posted by sfMatt, Sat Sep-05-15 11:24 PM
A lot of times ya'll will talk shit about our D and I'll tell you that we did what we needed to do.

Tonight was just abysmal.
No QB pressure
a young secondary getting absolutely murdered by one player
garbage open field tackling.

They have to gut-check this week big time in order to be ok next Saturday in East Lansing.

On the other hand, the skill position situation is officially absurd. We did everything tonight without the services of Devon Allen (still recovering) Charles Nelson (precautionary rest) Darren Carrington (weeeeeeeed) and Thomas Tyner (out for the year). Dwayne Stanford is playing like a man. Bralon is back. Royce is still Royce, and a little trimmer today. Kani Benoit in his third year looks ready to be the number 2. Tony Brooks-James looks explosive. Byron Marshall is going to have another huge year. Taj Griffin looks *De'Anthony* fast. Last year's SPARQ national champ is in the two deep as well and played a few snaps (Kirk Merritt). This group is going to be a very exciting watch.
2474150, it was dirty and probably personal.

Posted by guru0509, Sun Sep-06-15 12:08 AM
very impressive showing for an FCS school

i wonder how long before an FBS school is willing to a take a chance on that madman.

he's still spending Nebraska money lol

In a one-year period, Nebraska will pay Pelini $1,536,108, while Youngstown State pays Pelini $213,894 (a total annual salary $1,750,002). In other words, NU is paying about 87.7 percent of Pelini's yearly income. That number would change if Pelini's annual salary is adjusted by either YSU or should he gain other sources of income.

>> At $128,009 per month from now through Feb. 28, 2019 — 1,389 days — Nebraska will pay Pelini $4,212.99 per day to not be the Husker coach. That includes weekends.

>> Pelini's weekly pay from Nebraska works out to $29,490.91.
>> Putting it in context of the 40-hour work week, that works out to $737.27 per hour, or $12.29 per minute. And now that you're thinking about it, we'll take the next logical step: For every second of the 40-hour work week, the University of Nebraska will drop about two dimes (20.4 cents) into Pelini's pockets.

2474163, if he's willing to be a DC, sure

2474168, So glad I decided to celebrate my anniversary and not watch PSU/Temple
Posted by Mignight Maruder, Sun Sep-06-15 08:35 AM
On a positive note, my alma mater Towson almost pulled off the upset against ECU (lost 28-20). My man Darius Victor is a tough, bowling ball RB to watch out for.

But yeah, Franklin and crew got their work cut out for them. Losing to Temple for the first time in nearly 75 years is not going over well with the PSU fanbase. He's got to figure out a way to better protect Hackenberg and get more creative on offense. That was just atrocious yesterday. If that's how easily Temple can shut you down, imagine how bad it will be against tougher BigTen teams???

That Tyler Matakevich LB for Temple is legit. Might not have NFL speed, but dude is a ballhawk and human eraser on the playing field. I hope he gets some serious Butkus Award buzz this year.
