He's the opposite of the general NXT model, so it's saying very little that they've cooled off on him. his countdown gimmick had him over for a good stretch but that kind of gimmick only goes so far no matter what.

I think he'll work much better on the main roster and a situation where he can play the enforcer for a baby face is a good role for him.

He could wind up a significant player just as easily as he could fizzle out, but I think he needs a little more of the on the job experience the main roster can give him. He's a project and I don't think more time in NXT will help him much. His look, size, presence (yes, I'd argue that that's a thing) and work rate make him a better bet for the main roster even as a project.

I won't be shocked if he does pan out, but his chances of survival are better with the main roster.
