2467656, Steph bc of his versatility and demeanor
Posted by LA2Philly, Fri Jul-24-15 10:52 AM
Can play on ball and off which leads to a lot of flexibility (the last ball dominant PG to win a ring was Isiah in 89-90) and you rarely ever see him get rattled; when he did in the Finals, he responded very well. His sometimes lackadaisical approach defensively is what irritates me most about him.

Wessy is my 2nd fav because he doesn't give a fuck, super tenacious and passionate, with a ridiculous overall skillet but I wish he would just play the game smarter and he could be incredible...meaning not over-dribbling, shot selection, not reaching defensively, and not playing center field (very Kobe-like now that I listed the issues lol)

Kyrie is right there tied with Wessy, just a notch below maybe; no knock on him, just a testament to how much I enjoy Steph and Wessy. His skill-set on the ball is the best in the game, I love his demeanor because he's always relaxed yet never satisfied, and he made strides defensively this year...he's willing to listen and do what it takes to win regularly and I respect that.

CP3's talent and drive are incredible to me...I just really hate flopping and crying and obviously that's one of his things.

Nothing against DRose...his injuries have just impacted his game so much that I'm almost ambivalent toward him. However, his resilience and humility are two qualities I respect very much. Knowing his injury history, I almost have to detach myself from liking him too much, as a sort of defense mechanism...it just hurts too much to see talented guys go down with injury, add in personal emotion? Shit.

2467688, Steph or Russy, I love both and they are so different
Posted by ConcreteCharlie, Fri Jul-24-15 11:52 AM
2467770, yeah, i can't choose as a fan. As a GM i'd pick Steph

2467795, Youre a GM, assuming all are healthy..
Posted by melmag, Fri Jul-24-15 02:09 PM

whom do you build ur team around?
2467902, John Wall, he's the only younger pg that has lead a team to the 'offs
Posted by TheRealBillyOcean, Fri Jul-24-15 07:18 PM
...as the clear cut alpha.
2467915, lol
Posted by ConcreteCharlie, Fri Jul-24-15 08:50 PM
2467997, I only speak in truths.
Posted by TheRealBillyOcean, Sat Jul-25-15 10:00 AM
2468007, Dictators are often populists, cynics claim to be realists, etc.
Posted by ConcreteCharlie, Sat Jul-25-15 12:57 PM
2468036, If I said something that isn't true, point it out. Or else you're...
Posted by TheRealBillyOcean, Sat Jul-25-15 03:50 PM
just talking bro
2468065, Well first you arbitrarily define "young" then you disqualify others ...
Posted by ConcreteCharlie, Sat Jul-25-15 06:43 PM
At 26/27, I still consider a player relatively young. He is in the front end of his prime. Rose you could toss out because of his injury history but you're making Curry out to be some day-old bread when he's just cutting into his second contract and entered his prime this very season.

Westbrook is also young and Irving is younger than Wall. But they haven't "led" their teams to the playoffs because, I imagine, they have KD and LeBron, right?

So what you said is fact minus truth. It's technically true but it's an atrocious rationale for selecting the best player. Who is better, Russy or Wall? No fucking contest. Ditto for Curry, and the 30 months that separate them in age wouldn't mean shit to any GM in the league.
2468077, So you clearly understood what I wrote, proved it was true,...
Posted by TheRealBillyOcean, Sat Jul-25-15 08:40 PM
but decided too not answer the question.

Cool.

You can debate whether the criteria I stated makes sense all you want, but there's only one guy that fit the criteria.
2468131, There is no debate about the criteria, they are absolutely laughable
Posted by ConcreteCharlie, Sun Jul-26-15 11:28 AM
It is also not even accurate by the standards you set. Curry IS young and certainly "younger." Rose was younger than either one when he did his thing and you neglected to disqualify him (which you could have, I guess).

Basically you thought to yourself "what parameters could I set to prop up my guy?" This is from OE's playbook like ten years ago. Get some fresh material.
2468133, No, Curry isn't young. And Rose has injury concerns & also...
Posted by TheRealBillyOcean, Sun Jul-26-15 11:40 AM
not young.

So you're just talking to talk.

Lol.

Like seriously, you could've responded to a number of posts in here, but you chose to get in a huff over why I selected John Wall as the pg to build around.

On some..."How dare you pick somebody who is young, durable, and has led their team to the playoffs?"

2468145, He is 27 and still getting better.
Posted by ConcreteCharlie, Sun Jul-26-15 01:40 PM
And you're elevating a specific set of circumstances over the actual quality of a player. No one, and I mean no one, would claim Wall is better or a better building block than Curry or Westbrook, and that's at a minimum.
2468158, No one? I just did.
Posted by TheRealBillyOcean, Sun Jul-26-15 05:48 PM
Question was who do you pick to build a team around. I answered it with my answer and told you why?

Why are you in your feelings about this though?
2468166, just calling you on some bullshit. carry on.
Posted by ConcreteCharlie, Sun Jul-26-15 08:33 PM
2468173, Way to call me out on my opinion.
Posted by TheRealBillyOcean, Sun Jul-26-15 09:42 PM
2468176, ugh, is that just the worst defense? "just my opinion"
Posted by ConcreteCharlie, Sun Jul-26-15 09:53 PM
well opinions can be wrong and reasoning can be even worse. deal with it.
2468179, You argued & proved my point like 6 replies ago. Lol.
Posted by TheRealBillyOcean, Sun Jul-26-15 10:55 PM
This whole back and forth is just you dickriding at this point.
2468180, What point? You never had a point.
Posted by ConcreteCharlie, Sun Jul-26-15 11:53 PM
Your point is that you love the Wildcats. In your universe, there is a way that Wall is somehow ahead of Curry and Westbrook, and that Rajon Rondo should be the starting point guard of an all-time Celtics team. These are things that other people laugh at and keep it moving, but I find it entertaining that you're willing to argue this ridiculous assertions to the bitter end.
2468181, Was the question who was the best player? Nope.
Posted by TheRealBillyOcean, Sun Jul-26-15 11:59 PM
But your dickrider goggles didn't allow you to see that.

I answered who I would build around. And told you why. You understood why. Even said as much. But still arguing some other shit.

Why?

Seriously why?

Don't give me a, "Because I find it funny, and I'm just passing time before I re-watch True Detective."

Why?

Just answer, honestly. Why must you dive on my dick after every reply?

And then you bring to attention you dove on my dick in another post too.

C'mon Dick Diver.
2468187, Uh, I understood the question very clearly.
Posted by ConcreteCharlie, Mon Jul-27-15 01:29 AM
When you're talking about guys 24-27, the things you mentioned don't play a role. Wall, Westbrook, Curry, they are all still improving. A five-year deal would be great for any team with any of those three guys right now. So you're just making up bullshit parameters to prop up your guy. How much longer are you going to defend this? One more post, you can have the last word.

Also this new dick diver deflection is not entertaining. It's right there with Kira's "STALKER!" accusations all over the boards. Not only do you not have an original idea, you're stealing from the dumbest guy here.
2468192, Well...age and leading a team to the playoffs matters to me. Sooooo?
Posted by TheRealBillyOcean, Mon Jul-27-15 08:48 AM
You're still going back and forth trying to convince me what your saying matters.

It hasn't in the previous 50 back and forths. It's not now.

Lol...nigga is so pressed for me to hear his reasoning. Why?

And if you stop diving for my dick in every post than it wouldn't fit.

Every post?

Every post.

John Wall, younger, led a team to playoffs, pass first, plays defense. Go cry nigga.
2468068, he right tho

2468134, The difference is that Irving is just getting started
Posted by ConcreteCharlie, Sun Jul-26-15 11:40 AM
Same argument could kinda be made for Wall but not really. Plus no foreseeable major accomplishments in his future. No need to drag out the Melo debate, I will let the rest of his career speak for itself.
2468617, cool, when he does something of note let us know
Posted by 40thStreetBlack, Tue Jul-28-15 03:51 PM
until then there's no difference wrt to what was being discussed.

not sure what that's supposed to mean but ok.

i have no idea what you're talking about.

2468046, I agree...
Posted by bnicedh, Sat Jul-25-15 04:25 PM
Even though Rose has led a team to the playoffs as the 'alpha' however his injury history scares people.
2468206, Lol at the criteria
Posted by LA2Philly, Mon Jul-27-15 10:08 AM
Just say John Wall because of UK and leave it at that
2468210, If that was the case, I'd go Rondo. But I think other stars...
Posted by TheRealBillyOcean, Mon Jul-27-15 10:21 AM
would be more prone to play with John. Hence build around.

The other option was Mudiay, because he has youth, marketability, passes and nothing but upside.
2468334, Oh, for sure. He's totally attracted more stars than Kyrie.
Posted by ConcreteCharlie, Mon Jul-27-15 04:53 PM
Who in their right mind would team with that guy???
2468335, Hey look who's replying to me again. Weird.
Posted by TheRealBillyOcean, Mon Jul-27-15 05:08 PM
Kyrie attracted stars or Cleveland attracted it's star and got him to return home?
2468490, Call me when Wall attracts someone prominent on a multi-year deal
Posted by ConcreteCharlie, Tue Jul-28-15 11:00 AM
So far your assertion is 100% baseless. What else is new?
2468501, Pierce came to the Wizards. And Wall was a big reason.
Posted by TheRealBillyOcean, Tue Jul-28-15 11:16 AM
Gortat was inclined to stay because of how he played with Wall too.

They haven't had the space to pitch any big time FA's.

So, I'm basing my assumption off of that and him being a pass first pg.
2468644, Pierce came for *one* year. You're cysing Gortat? LLLLLLLLLLLLLL
Posted by ConcreteCharlie, Tue Jul-28-15 05:00 PM
I said multi-year. Pierce came for one season and it was not his first choice, plus he is old as dirt.

On one hand I am bored, on the other hand I want to keep you talking so these Ls continue to spew forth.

Posted by Hitokiri, Sat Jul-25-15 02:31 PM
But I'm also a big fan of Curry, Westbrook, and Rose.
Not a fan of Kyrie. Thought I would be when he first came into the league but nah. I dislike him at this point.
2468035, Wall or Westbrook
Posted by Kira, Sat Jul-25-15 03:48 PM
John Wall is a solid leader who isn't as injury prone as Kyrie or Rose. He has that try hard game which is great on a young team where you need to change cultures.

Westbrook is a gunner and part of the Kobe tree so of course I fucks with him.

John Wall to build around and Westbrook to have because I like his game.

If neither of those two are available then give me Mike Conley because he solid.

*EDIT*

Ky will always be number one pg in my heart because he stuck around when he could've left. This post assumes I start from scratch in NBA 2K without a team and have to draft a point guard.
