Posted by auragin_boi, Thu Mar-12-15 08:57 AM
*These were created without looking at the current playoff games.

Final Rankings:

1. Springfield Isotopes (Ernie) - (43-19), 280.8, (3)
Odds on favorite for a finals run?

2. Trenton Tapeworms (TJT) - (41-21), 284.4, (2)
Ready to battle Ernie for the Black conference.

3. Lefferts Gardens Losers (Shawn) - (40-22), 277.6, (5)
Legit shot at finally making it back to the finals...9 yrs after his first trip.

4. Washington REASONS (Basa) - (41-21), 281.2, (1)
Dominant most of the season but now praying Durant is back within the week instead of the 1-2 he's projected and Blake makes a surprise return though he's been estimated at 2 weeks.

http://tinyurl.com/kczqzxo <--wasn't spot on but still.

5. San Diego Broussardians of the Galaxy (RBO) - (38-24), 275.4, (4)
RBO has that sneaky-just-good-enough-to-win-if-anyone-slips team. AKA Robe's team last season.

6. Coney Island Bad Boys Reloaded (Cenario) - (38-24), 269.8, (6)
Is this the year Smithers finally gets his ring? With Basa's squad ailing, it's pretty much Ryan, Shawn and Cenario's conference for the taking right?

7. Iowa City Shatners (Boogs) - (35-27), 260.4, (8)
Could Boogs actually sneak in and win this thing?

Nah.

8.Los Angeles Bojacks (Ryan) - (34-28), 258.2, (9)
Depleted conference leaves Ryan up for his first possible shot at a finals appearance.

9. Grays Ferry Ghost Riders (Theo) - (30-32), 257.2, (13)
Theo sucked most of the season. Then he didn't. Someone who's been on cruise control most of the year doesn't deserve a 10 game W streak to finish the season and snatch a playoff spot. Me and LABeat have some wack fantasy basketball Karma. lol

10. Duval County Road Trippers (Frank) - (31-31), 262, (12)
Finished the year strong? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

11. Motor City Patches (Ceej) - (33-29), 263, (7)
Ceej is the only GM I feel sorry for this year. His year actually sucked more than mine.

12. Houston HardHead Kickdoe Burglars (LABeat) - (28-34), 261.1, (11)
Gonna miss his playoff trash talking this year.

13. ChiESL Luxury Tax Casualties (Commish) - (25-37), 259.7, (10)
Misses playoffs for 2nd time in 10 seasons. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

14. South 5th Stoners (Matt) - (15-47), 240.4, (15)
¯\_(ツ)_/¯

15. Northeast DC Fighting Bidens (Magilla) - (11-51), 203.9, (16)
Won one game since last rankings. Smh

16. STX Buenos Diaws (King Robe) - (13-49), 217.3, (14)
First to worst? LMMFAO...defending champ lost 17 straight to finish the year. Completely punted the last half of the season though he actually could have made the playoffs with ANY effort. I understand punting but c'mon. Very uncouth of you Robe. Tisk.

Race war: Finally Tally = 153-111 WHITE PAUWAAAAA!!!!
At least I was on the winning side of the Race Warz! lol

Started a video last night to wrap the season/playoffs. Will finish it tonight.

I dont dwell on the past. It happened, I'll move on and come back scrong next season.
2428842, ^^ Truth ^^
Posted by magilla vanilla, Thu Mar-12-15 09:30 AM
It seemed every fuggin' move I made was snakebitten this year. See Bogut going day to day to ZOMG HIS KNEE MIGHT LITERALLY EXPLODE the DAY after I accepted that trade with Ba. See Tony Wroten clicking and then BOOM. DONE.

That said, I still could have salvaged a playoff appearance with any better waiver management.

I totally understand if you guys want to relegate/contract me. But I think I could make an improvement next season.
2428844, why'd you disappear?
Posted by Cenario, Thu Mar-12-15 09:31 AM
2428907, Bunch of new gigs hit at the same time
Posted by magilla vanilla, Thu Mar-12-15 11:08 AM
then the times I logged in, my roster just looked . . . LOL.

I mean, yeah, the .86 PPM or lower guys I could have added from the wire would have been better than nothing, but I also didn't want to risk losing the injured guys, thinking their healthy numbers would have me in fighting shape once they came back . . .which of course some didn't.

Just a shitty season all around. I can't even say most of my trades worked out the way I could in previous years.
2428843, the injuries you have at this point are just ridiculous.

2428884, my team ranked higher than ryan and boogs?? interesting...
Posted by Cenario, Thu Mar-12-15 10:30 AM
2428885, Averaged 300+ over the last ten games.
Posted by Frank Longo, Thu Mar-12-15 10:31 AM
A.K.A. what my team would've been with a healthy Rubio all along.

Sigh. Can't dwell on the past.

Losing Game 1 thanks to some shitty outings from my forwards hurts. Still, hoping to stay hot.

Putting me behind Boogs in the power rankings (he's averaging 240 over the last ten) feels like a shot at my team. Oh well. Gotta use it for motivation in the locker room.
2429085, I think you might have me.
Posted by TheRealBillyOcean, Thu Mar-12-15 04:36 PM
My dudes got injured at the wrong damn time. We were cooking too. It sucks, but that's the fantasy life.

Posted by ErnestLee, Thu Mar-12-15 10:48 AM
If Wade can play 75% of the remaining games, I like my chances. Victor is rounding in to form to protect any Wade DNPs, Nerlens is blossoming late like I hoped he would, and Russell Westbrook is good at basketball.

Wont be easy with the other top 3 teams in my direct path. Should be fun. Round 2 starts Saturday!

2428959, I think Frank can be in that contenders list

Like he said hes 300+ lately. Just keep winning and surviving.

Its crazy that theo had the 2nd longest W streak of the season
2429084, Who had the longest?

Goddamn right I know who.
2428961, I feel like this is the most competitive playoffs in awhile
Posted by ShawndmeSlanted, Thu Mar-12-15 01:02 PM
2428966, yeah there was no runaways in the draft
Posted by Cenario, Thu Mar-12-15 01:10 PM
Ernie/TJT had the strongest draft probably...you and basa improved on a good draft with big trades.

We usually have 1 team with 45+ wins and a high average but no team has dominated from beginning to end.

5 teams with a 270 avg has to be a record. And then i'm at 269.8.

But this is Ernie's to lose.
2429028, cmon

Not saying it'll be a travesty if you lose or anything. Its not like you've been running around all year saying you're definitely winning it.

Posted by auragin_boi, Thu Mar-12-15 02:32 PM
Plus some of the teams that would make it more interesting are hobbled coming in (Ceej, Basa). Not to mention a team with 15 wins made it.

2nd round on should be fun though.

Jrue Holiday (leg) went through some limited shooting work on the court Friday.

He still is not even close and he did "nothing practice oriented or in practice pace," according to coach Monty Williams. Holiday is likely out at least a couple more weeks based on how he just shed a walking boot last week
2430199, Ooh boy.

Pending a major miracle, me and TRBO headed to Game 5...

LMAO. Fun while it lasted.
2430215, Would a Tim Duncan DNP-Rest do the trick?
Posted by Cenario, Tue Mar-17-15 08:03 AM
In NY tonight...in milwaukee tomorrow. Seems feasible.

You probably need him to go full Pop and rest Danny Green too.
2430231, Anything is possible when you roster 3 Spurs
Posted by ErnestLee, Tue Mar-17-15 08:54 AM
His lineup isnt doing him any favors either.
2430232, ginobili already but his minutes don't matter.

2430251, How so? I have 3 or 4 guys that did not play.
Posted by TheRealBillyOcean, Tue Mar-17-15 09:59 AM
2430252, Duncan at CF, Reke at FG. Problem solved.
Posted by ErnestLee, Tue Mar-17-15 10:04 AM
2430260, Lol...but that's assuming I know KG will never play again.
Posted by TheRealBillyOcean, Tue Mar-17-15 10:16 AM
And Humph is gone for good. And could make those changes before the deadline for Game 2.

That wasn't the case.

It's easy to look back now and make those changes.
2430267, Nah, You set your lineup for scenarios just like this
Posted by ErnestLee, Tue Mar-17-15 10:24 AM
Putting someone at CF doesn't necessarily mean you expect to get their minutes at center. Those two changes wouldnt have changed anything for you when everyone was healthy, just protected you for when they weren't.

You'll get there.
2430270, Lol...okay set yourself up for being w/o 3 centers and...
Posted by TheRealBillyOcean, Tue Mar-17-15 10:33 AM
having 1 center only play 19 mins.

2430271, yes, you should prepare for those things.
Posted by Cenario, Tue Mar-17-15 10:36 AM
Why wouldn't you? Especially when you are talking about Duncan/Garnett/Javale and other low minute centers
2430274, Because I had so many of them. And I didn't think...
Posted by TheRealBillyOcean, Tue Mar-17-15 10:47 AM
Humph's injury was that serious. And I thought KG was playing every other game.
2430276, all of that is irrelevant lol. You set your lineup to eliminate the possibility
Posted by Cenario, Tue Mar-17-15 10:55 AM
of wasted minutes while optimizing your minutes. If you said that you wanted Duncan at FC bc you wanted his minutes at F bc blah blah blah well that would be a strategy decision. But that wasn't the case here.

Switching duncan and Tyreke doesn't decrease your scores in any way and only helps in a worst case scenario...the scenario you experienced.
2430359, Lol of course I want Duncan's minutes at F & Reke at G.
Posted by TheRealBillyOcean, Tue Mar-17-15 03:09 PM
And did not expect the worst case scenario.

My point is, it's easy to configure a team after that worst case scenario happened and say, "Well you should've done this."

Manu and Danny Green could've ran into one another and blew out all 4 ACL's too.
2430366, nah, i'm not simply saying that about wanting his minutes at F.
Posted by Cenario, Tue Mar-17-15 03:30 PM
I'm saying if there was a strategy where you said "I know i'm leaving myself open for wasted minutes but I want to optimize and make sure Duncan gets the minutes at F bc i want xyz player to get the minutes at C." that's not what happened here at all.

Anyone that knows how to set their lineups could have seen that error. Ernie and Ab have already stated that. Its not hindsight talking. Usually, Ernie and or myself make a post at the start of the season about vets who have set their lineups wrong. I could have sworn there was a whole argument about this this year in reference to Ceej's lineup(which wasn't wrong btw.) lol
2430521, How is your explanation any diff from what I said?
Posted by TheRealBillyOcean, Wed Mar-18-15 10:04 AM
Like seriously?
2430524, I just dont think you get it
Posted by ErnestLee, Wed Mar-18-15 10:09 AM
Those two tweaks wouldnt change anything when everyone is healthy but would protect you when they arent. You've wasted your "flex" guys.
2430539, RE: I just dont think you get it
Posted by TheRealBillyOcean, Wed Mar-18-15 10:46 AM
>Those two tweaks wouldnt change anything when everyone is
>healthy but would protect you when they arent. You've wasted
>your "flex" guys.

Here was my rationale:

Zeller
McGee
Koufos

Those 3 get the majority of if not all of the Center mins

Duncan - Solely at F. At C he is basically wasted.

KG and Humph - get any C minutes not caught by Zeller/McGee/Koufos and they are my strongest F's after Duncan.

MKG my 4th strongest F gets any F mins not caught by Duncan/KG/Humph especially if Ducan or KG sits.

Then my Guards which are the strongest part and focus of my team.

Harden - G

Tyreke - 2nd best G

Calathes & Manu - any left over G mins as my 3rd and 4th strongest Gs

Green - in the event there are any left over G or F mins.

I never ever wanted to use Duncan as a Center. And I never ever wanted to use Tyreke as a F as my strenght were my Guards. And before the injuries, I had more than enough F's to get F minutes and Green to clean up anything missed.

So yes, it is hindsight.
2430541, lol its not hindsight. Bc if you have multiple injuries Duncan and Reke
Posted by Cenario, Wed Mar-18-15 10:55 AM
are insurance at those positions. Those are the only instances their minutes would get touched at the C(duncan) F(reke) positions. Simply switching their positions but leaving the order them same provided insurance. There was no added benefit in what you did in having their positions the way you did.
2430547, Yes it is, because it depends on WHO gets injured or misses games
Posted by TheRealBillyOcean, Wed Mar-18-15 11:11 AM
3 or 4 G's miss. Still screwed. I lose 2 C's and 2 F's, still screwed.
2430556, you can't protect yourself from every situation. But ernie and i explained
Posted by Cenario, Wed Mar-18-15 11:33 AM
the clear benefit in switching Garnett and Tyreke's position. What benefit do you gain by having the positions the way you listed as opposed to what we suggested?
2430569, Is THIS hindsight?

>
>So yes, it is hindsight.
2430527, What i am saying is making a strategic decision to possibly increase
Posted by Cenario, Wed Mar-18-15 10:18 AM
your potential score based on everyone playing and performing to expectations. If everyone plays and performs as expected, there is no change in scores/benefit in the way your lineup was set that game. If guys miss games(like they did), there was a clear detriment in the way your lineup was set.

you had risk, but there was no reward.

Ask someone here you trust.
2430398, There's no hindsight here. I peeped your lineup flaws months ago
Posted by ErnestLee, Tue Mar-17-15 04:19 PM
If you werent in my division, I probably woulda told you then.

2430290, Well, yea. Set yourself up for ANYTHING
Posted by ErnestLee, Tue Mar-17-15 11:43 AM
Having multi position players is huge in this league, and you're not taking advantage of it. None of my "forwards" are FC, but they all get forward minutes. If Nerlens and/or Dieng were to miss a a game, they could take the center minutes.

In your setup if the centers above Duncan dont play, he's still getting forward minutes, which Danny Green could have gotten for you.
2430254, You only used 75% of Danny green. couple of tweaks and you wouldn't
Posted by Cenario, Tue Mar-17-15 10:06 AM
have wasted any of his minutes and used up some of those C minutes.
2430256, It's the little things
Posted by ErnestLee, Tue Mar-17-15 10:09 AM
I've been watching that series close since its my next opponent and i saw that coming once the other guys sat. Could have easily cost him the game, the series and more.

2430508, General Question with an obvious answer
Posted by Cenario, Wed Mar-18-15 09:33 AM
AB's season ended with Rose on IR. Rose is roster ineligible for everyone, correct?

Cool.
2430514, Yes...because i won't be picking him up, so no one can
Posted by auragin_boi, Wed Mar-18-15 09:36 AM
2430516, Am I on a 1 week penalty now bc of Bosh? lol
Posted by Cenario, Wed Mar-18-15 09:42 AM
2430520, lol, I don't even think we have 4 weeks left in the season
Posted by auragin_boi, Wed Mar-18-15 10:00 AM
so it doesn't matter. You IR anybody now, you probably won't get them back before it's all over.
2430525, "I" may not have 4 weeks left in the season lol
Posted by Cenario, Wed Mar-18-15 10:11 AM
but i could still IR a dude to keep him from getting on someone else's roster ya know?

A better example would be if one of ernie's guys got a 2-4 week timetable today. He might not want to ride out with dude, but IRs him instead of just dropping so that someone else doesn't pick him up if the dude comes back with time left in the season.

Unless the leagues understanding is that IR can only be used with 4 or more weeks left in the year. I just assumed you could always use it provided there's a 4 week timetable.
2430534, lol @ the stash strategy
Posted by auragin_boi, Wed Mar-18-15 10:26 AM
IR as it stands has no deadline so theoretically, your scenario is legal and I have no issue with it.

I'd kick myself if I got to the finals after IRing a major guy and he came back in 2 weeks instead of 4 though.
2430537, you'd kick yourself even harder if you just dropped him and he wound
Posted by Cenario, Wed Mar-18-15 10:32 AM
up on someone else's roster. lol

Depending on your lineup, you might have to drop the dude just to get to the finals so as not to waste minutes. I lost a game to ceej bc of holding on to jrue and Kerr resting Curry/iggy same game. I needed to IR Jrue back in january smh.
2430540, True...like I said, I have no issue with it. Fair game.

Ryan is looking at probably a top 4-5 all time playoff high. Cenario is looking at 330. Frank may give Ern's team a tougher battle than imagined with that 294 playoff avg. And with Davis and Monroe hobbled, combined with boogs eying 300, TJT is looking very vulnerable.

Long series' though. Hopefully.
2431059, that 330 ain't on my neck, so that's fine.

and yeah, my chances are shot because of the injuries because they all hit after i could make a change in response against boogs.

i legit don't have more than 2 forwards against boogs until game 4 at the earliest which is, obviously, too late.

Our league bracket has not updated for the second round. Can you please look into this.

League: OKP Survivor, Season X: A Kings Robe

Thanks!

Hey - For some reason the system has had trouble dealing with leagues that use this playoff format. I believe I've fixed everything for you. Can you take a look and let me know if it's all good?

Hi...thanks for the swift response. It looks like everything progressed to the next round but the boxscores are all wacky now.

For example: http://basketball.sports.ws/game/150666/68/8/3

In this game LA is playing Trenton but in our playoffs Trenton is playing Iowa City.

All of the matchups are off in the same way:

http://basketball.sports.ws/game/150666/68/16/5
http://basketball.sports.ws/game/150666/68/2/7
http://basketball.sports.ws/game/150666/68/4/11

We've gotten a good laugh out of it but I'm sure we'd like it set correctly based on the brackets.

Thanks for you help again!

Tarik looked terrible last game. Hopefully he snaps out of it tonight

Winner of Game 2 has a much better of winning the series.

So Tarik vs Clarkson.
2431832, so far the decision to bench Lin again
Posted by ShawndmeSlanted, Tue Mar-24-15 10:03 AM
has been 50/50.

Kyrie continues his up and down, but Lin hit a cold stretch. I think the Laker schedule gets soft -- so I gotta see what to do if I make it to round 3.

Probably didn't really have a shot with him anyway.

That game locked on 3/20th.

That afternoon, OKC announced Durant was out indef.
Brandon knight ain't play since March 9th

Those were 2 obvious drops. Now you only got 10 bodies including

Tobias Harris who got injured on March 17th
James Johnson who don't play consistent minutes
Klay thompson who had got injured on the 17th and supposed to miss up to 10 days

The Shved and Whiteside injuries, there was nothing you could do about it. The rest was forseeable.

Then again, projections got you losing by over a hunnid so maybe you were right. :-)

Looks like i shouldnt have benched lin. The harder part was who should be on the bench. Both MCW and Kyrie have good and bad games.

Shoulda probably bin Lin/Hill down the stretch.

Of the teams left I think Ryan is the only one who stands a chance with ern--mostly cause hes healthy. He needs Clarkson to keep ballin and turn into a late season sessions.

I dont know if Wade will sit out more games. That could help.

2432296, best chance to beat ernie is in the finals with the wacky end of season

rosters and minutes. You'd have to at least win one of the first 3 obviously when the rosters might still be in tact.

2432448, The season that could've been.
Posted by Frank Longo, Thu Mar-26-15 03:08 PM
Would've been fun to see a whole season of that CP3/Rubio tag team. Oh well.

Gotta get better at drafting a third guard. Second year in a row that if I'd drafted my third guard differently, my season could've been entirely different. Farmar was a massive fuck-up, just as Pat Bev was the year before.

Too many late-round fuck ups in the draft, really. A few vets that were too old or rooks that weren't ready to carry the weight that my early season troubles required.

Oh well. At least I made it back to .500 regular season, which was a damn miracle considering all the bullshit (and considering I simply stopped updating once I realized I wasn't catching Boogs, lol). Just have to adjust for next year, and maybe not trade for the top pick next time.

... maybe.

(Shout out to Draymond Green for being what I thought he'd be, btw. Coming for him again next year.)
2432450, lol remember when i was trying to get Tobias over draymond when we
Posted by Cenario, Thu Mar-26-15 03:13 PM

were you ever really considering trading me cp3 or just wasting my time.
2432456, I wanted to see what the biggest package I could get was.
Posted by Frank Longo, Thu Mar-26-15 03:26 PM
There was one deal I was ready to accept. The other party rowed back though.

It would've taken an owner probably sacrificing more than he should. I definitely wasn't desperate. I just wanted to see.
2432459, RE: I wanted to see what the biggest package I could get was.

2432465, Nah, just you being smart.
Posted by Frank Longo, Thu Mar-26-15 03:30 PM
It would've been a dice roll for you to offer enough depth to make it worthwhile for me. Could've paid off, could've blown up in your face. And since you were already doing so well beforehand, no need to make that deal for you.

And I kinda knew that. But with the Drummond and Durant deals swirling around, I wanted to see if someone would be bold enough to pull a big trigger. Cooler heads prevailed.
2432470, taking any package that involved Bosh and Chalmers would have been
Posted by Cenario, Thu Mar-26-15 03:34 PM
devastating for you. I think my team got better without bosh. He'd been bad for a long time. And the emergence of whiteside would not have helped.
2432455, Hate to keep harping on it, but Payton was absolutely your pick there
Posted by ErnestLee, Thu Mar-26-15 03:24 PM
Bounced between him and Oladipo myself.
2432460, Especially because I was so goddamn high on Payton coming in.
Posted by Frank Longo, Thu Mar-26-15 03:27 PM
I just figured he'd be turnover-heavy like so many rookie PGs. I was playing the minutes game, thinking I could get higher FPPM at lower minutes. Which was wrong in multiple ways.

I don't even want to see Payton's final numbers. I'll see them next year when I start researching, lol.
2432468, They're berry, berry good

When you're good and loud...and lose, people go 'in'.

When me or LABeat and to an extent, Ern get that groove, we toss tons of feces so when the fall hits, it comes back HARD. Basa is in this group of GM's.

He probably knew Ern and C were gonna go in if he lost. lol I'm sure he didn't expect the Frank or Theo or Boogs or Matt treatment (relatively quiet winners that everyone goes 'bummer' when they flame out in the 'offs).

But watching him minimize is brilliant. When he's carrying W's around, he's like: http://tinyurl.com/ojb7nzg

^^^LOOK AT MY W!

But when he takes an L: http://thumbs.dreamstime.com/z/hand-holding-tiny-sprat-23712191.jpg

Posted by Basaglia, Fri Apr-10-15 12:09 PM
what am i supposed to do when I take an L around here?

i ALWAYS say I was wrong and offer congrats to winners. all that.

y'all just mad because i don't act like y'all and be fighting bammas when they got the high ground like anakin skywalker or some shyt.

i ain't fighting back hard on no Ls, dogg.

i. wait. my. turn.

this year was my turn to party, because i was always gettin fried by cen and ernie for not being good at survivor. well, i had a good year, but i couldn't close it out. but, i ain't mad about it. sorry.

ernie so pissy, he couldn't even accept a sincere "good luck" and that's just why his angry ass lost a few days later. like, i ain't gon argue about how poorly i managed my team down the stretch. too many people got injured and i flat out didn't have the time to figure shyt out. oh well.

so, because i said "OH WELL, see y'all next year" and K.I.M.'ed, it's "Basa never takes his Ls"

y'all crazy

2435687, yall were right like you usually were. I was wrong.
Posted by Cenario, Fri Apr-10-15 12:18 PM
that woulda pretty much taken care of it.

You guaranteed a chip because you had the best team in January. You usually aren't paying attention beyond January and have no idea what goes on late in the year and playoffs. Which ironically is what I was getting on you about earlier in the year. Low and behold, you stuck with your beat up roster and flamed out in the playoffs....like we all predicted.

Congrats on your good year tho, but you went crazy guaranteeing a chip lol
2435691, y'all predicted me flaming out in October, November, December
Posted by Basaglia, Fri Apr-10-15 12:30 PM
so, forgive me for not saying y'all were right, especially when y'all starting caving and penciled me in as one of the teams to beat and then started dry-partying about durant's injury.

yeah, i wasn't giving no credit for that.

"stuck with your beat up roster" is a lie, because i pretty much overhauled it. you just saying anything, because you mad you hittin' dem title-less golf balls just like me...YET AGAIN.

SHUTCHO ASS UP!

out right about many things and the projection of your team changed once you traded for Durant obviously.

Only reason anyone partied on Durants injury was because you insisted 'you'd be fine'. wrong.

And i outlined all the players you shoulda dropped in your series against me, but you were busy remember? Now you overhauled it? what are you even talking bout?

yes, i was busy. i didn't even KNOW tobias wasn't playing. i didn't even KNOW Whiteside was gon miss games. knight took forever to return, when i first heeard he'd miss a few games before the 'off even started. James johnson missed a game outta nowhere. then, shved just went *POOF*. i ain't have time to follow all that.

Tier 1: No shot in hell
#16 Magilla
Look. I apologize in advance to the baby, but if you didn’t rank this team 16th you have no credibility and your rankings suck. This team is terrible. Some other guys can get away with drafting KD and waiting, Magilla can’t. Vucevic and Tyson are fine but no better than anyone else’s centers, the guards are gonna be terrible and might not even cover 96 minutes when all 5 play some night.
Strength: KD
Weakness: Holes
Lynchpin Player: If Magilla’s gonna prove me wrong its gonna be because Greivis plays like a lead guard he was drafted to do. That would take a Lowry injury and playing like he did 2 seasons ago.
Max FPPM Key Players:
Vucevic: 1.25 ↓: Will be a better NBA player but worse in .WS with orther Magic emerging.
Chandler: 1.12: ↓: Better than last season, but still eh
Melo: 1.20 ↓: Slower pace, more deliberate offense, more 3, less rebounds.
Vasquez: 1.09 ↑: Better than last season, but up and down as a bench player.

Vucevic was slightly better than I thought at 1.31
Tyson was significantly better at 1.26
Carmelo got injured--meh
Grievis was way under

Tier 2: Outside shot but not really
#15 Auragin
In recent years Auragin has turned into the old man of .ws he passes up on analytics and upside for the good players of years past/traditional stats with mixed results. This year’s boring team is going to be pretty average until he hits the wire. Rose’s best .ws seasons came in his MVP seasons where we was still just 1.28. At his best he’s a very good but not elite player. Demarcus is gonna carry him but Zach and Dwest will fall slightly. Lance is great in real life but in .ws? No thanks. Jimmy Butler, Ditto
Lynchpin Player: This team’s ultimate success rests on DRose. He’s one of the few players on the team with upside. If he gets back to MVP form and gets to 1.28 or gasp… 1.30 just him and Cousins alone will win games when other guys fill their roles.
Max FPPM Key Players:
Drose 1.23↑: Better than last season but not great.
Born Ready: 1.05 ↑: I dont see it, but I’m going max here. Maybe he has the ball a lot and doesnt play as many minutes - but 1.05 is the max.
Boogie 1.6 ↑: He matures and gets even better, but doesn’t block enough shots and turns it over too much to go into God Mode
Zbo 1.14↓: Slight decline for Zbo starts his ultimate decline in future years

Rose way under at .97 and got hurt
Born Ready way under at .93 and was hurt for a long time
Boogie..almost spot on with 1.59
I was wrong on Zbo 1.23

Tier 2: Outside shot but not really
#14 Beathustla
Let’s be clear. There’s a huge gap between 16 and 15. Houston had a solid draft and has an outside shot, but he’s gonna have to make some moves on the wire. I like Kaman this year but not as a C1. LMA was a beast last year but I think he went a little high this year. I think his career high rebounds will drop this season. Either way the rest of the Fs leave a lot to be desired. I know how good Derozan is in rea life, but here? With this many good forwards no excuse for this mediocre a group. Ty Lawson could be a steal where he went if he stays healthy. Teague is solid, I dont quite know what to think of IT3 we should see early on.
Lynchpin Player: If Teague can keep his upward trend and end up more towards 1.15 next to Ty Lawson then his team is gonna be more trouble than I thought but still the Fs will be the killer.
Max FPPM Key Players:
Lamarcus Aldridge 1.34↓: Still a stud but a slight drop off from last season as rebounds drop. Regression to mean.
DeRozan 1.07 ↑: Nice uptick but ultimately his minutes are what keeps him from being a 1.1 G.
Rudy Gay .97↓: Back to his usual mediocre .ws self.
Ty Lawson: 1.19 ↓: Injury keeps him from replicating last year in fppg and gp
Teague: ↑ Continues upswing to 1.14

Pretty close on 1.32 with LMA
Derozan only .96
Wrong on Rudy at 1.08
I was wrong on TY (Hi Ern) he was at 1.27 and drafting him wouldve given me a much more consistent corps of guards
Teague at 1.22 was even better than i thought

Tier 2: Outside shot but not really
#13 Smithers
Smithers another case of average Cs with limited upside. Gortat is frustrating to own because he’ll have big games but then he’ll kill you with bad games. Hawes is solid I wouldve rather had Kamania for an efficiency backup C with Bosh clear to cleanup. I’m not as high on Bosh as a lot of you are. He doesn’t rebound well enough and won’t again at this point in his career. Millsap was signifigantly worse last year with Horford so pray he gets hurt again. I think Ersan can actually help this F crew be respectable. Love Steph to be at 1.3+ again. If Monty plays Reke as much as he’s been doing, Jrue is gonna be back to some damaged goods. After that at G…
Lynchpin Player: For Cenario to be as good as he thinks he is, he will need Jrue to get back to 1.2+. I think it’s more realistic he ends up in 1.10s.
Max FPPM Key Players:
Gortat 1.13↓: Last year was his contract year, it won’t get much better than that.
Bosh 1.18↑: Somewhere between old Bosh and Big 3 Bosh. But not what Cenario wants or needs.
Millsap 1.24↑: Production falloff next to Horford.
Ersan 1.10↑: His reemergence helps Cenario a bit.
Steph: 1.33↓: He’s still great but ball movement offense spreads love a bit.
Jrue 1.18↓: Loses touches to Tyreke and boards to Omer.

Wow hit Gortat right on the head
Bosh was worse than I thought at 1.05
Millsap fell off slightly and was close to my number
Ersan was inconsistent at 1.04
Curry was WAAAAAY above expectations at 1.55 and what fucked up my low prediction for cenarios tea,
Jrue was slightly better than i predicted but also missed the second half of the season so meh.

↑↓
Tier 3: Starting to get warm
#12 Boogs
Boogs has been on his typical Eeyore, but the truth is his team isn’t that bad. I would’ve drafted differently at 10, 15, and 18 but Boogs went with 2 top guards and Joakim. Can’t be mad at the two guards but I don’t know about Jo this season. Pau is going to eat away at some of Jo’s numbers and i don’t know how healthy he is with reports from the summer. The good news is this maybe allows Jo to play less and stay more healthy. Boogs generally drafted safe and reliable which was the smart move given his drafting situation. I’d worry about the F situation. No reliable big time guys and no depth. Needs the coined “Smedium 3” to come up big.
Lynchpin Player: For Boogs to jump into the top half he needs Giannis to get his Ak47 on. Boogs is praying the Giannis at pg experiment is officially over.
Max FPPM Key Players:
Joakim 1.35↓: Down a bit from last year because of Pau
John Wall 1.33↑: Best season of his .WS Career as his game continues to mature.
Lowry 1.29↑: Someone said he had no upside. I dont believe that. I think DeRozan’s development helps him.
Giannis 1.10 ↑: Next year is his real big season.
Taj : 1.10 ↑: Gets back to form with less minutes and more efficiency.

Damn I hit Joakim right on the head too.
Wall was a bit better than I thought at 1.39
Lowry was gangbusters early onand cooled off big time to 1.24
Giannis had his moments but was still 1.03
Taj was terrible at 1.03

Tier 3: Starting to get warm
#11 Matty
Matty drafted a real solid team. Fun fact: Matty and I were close to making the deal that Boogs and I made with his picks. Matty actually agreed to do the deal first, but Boogs had picks I liked more. Look for the future Shawnland article that breaks down how I would’ve drafted differently if I had Matty’s picks and Vice Versa. Anyhow Matty has a young beast in Drummond but I really worry about his F situation. Ibaka will regress with the emergence of Adams. I like Parsons to get better, but not elite because of minutes. Goran is frustrating because he will absolutely have huge nights. He will also have nights with lots of minutes and not so good output. Maybe IT3 changes that for the better. I like Trey Burke in .WS I dont think he’s a great real life pg, but he gets great usage in an offense where he’s the best ball handler by far.
Lynchpin Player: For Deyote to compete with the elite with this roster he needs Chandler Parsons to be closer to 1.10. I think he can do it because he will rebound better and have the ball a bit more in his hands for assists. That said, I think he ends up closer to 1.05.
Max FPPM Key Players:
Drummond 1.55↑: Can be an even bigger beast if he puts it together and his offensive game matures. His minutes will always be nicely limited because the frontcourt depth.
Ibaka 1.18↓: Serge, meet Steven. Steven takes boards (that is as long as Brooks starts him).
Parsons 1.10↑: See above
Dragic 1.15↑: Slight uptick but not enough for Matty.
Trey Burke: 1.10↑: Lots of time with the ball, lots of pick n roll action.

Drummond at 1.54 was slightly below my prediction.
Ibaka fell off as expected to 1.08
Dragic proves hes a mediocre ws player at .95
Trey Burke .90 sucks

↑↓
Tier 2: Outside shot but not really
#10 Robe
I don’t like this team as much now as I liked it during and post draft - but it’s dangerous. Dwight is going to have a BIG year and was undervalued this year. In a bad season last year he was still at 1.35. Best C’s so far. Love Faried in real life, but think his summer overvalued him in .ws. After faried the Fs dropoff significantly. I’m a big fan of Leuer in .WS but he will be up and down and you dont want that as a 2nd F. How long will Rajon be out? I think Stan will help Jennings a lot and Ramon is gonna be solid.
Lynchpin Player: Hmmmm is it Rondo or Jennings? Rondo if he plays needs to get to old form, if Robe doesnt really get Rondo he won’t be good. If Rondo plays he needs Jennings to step up as a 2nd Guard to push him to contend.
Max FPPM Key Players:
Dwight: 1.45↑: Another MVP like season pits him back on the map.
Faried: 1.30↑: Good but not good enough to carry Robe’s Fs
Tristan: 1.10↑: Nice uptick and more efficient with Cavs.
Rajon: 1.30↓: We’ll see how much he plays but hes never below 1.3
Jennings: 1.15↑: Stan, Those Bigs to throw lobs too, and a bigger commitment to passing.

↑↓

Dwight at 1.21.. i was way off.
Faried has been better lately but still way below at 1.2
Tristan .99 meh
Rondo 1.26
Jennings 1.23

All robes guys were worse than i thought theyd be except jennings which is a big part of why he sucked.

Tier 3: Starting to get warm
#9 Theo
Every year I rank Theo’s boring teams low. Every year he kicks my ass. I’m happy to get out of his division for the first time in 10 years. Omer is gonna have a nice year, and Hibbert is gonna have a minor bounceback. Love isnt going to be as big, but may be more efficient. Lee and Horford round out the best F group so far. G’s are boring and actually kind of sucky with no upside. 3 headed Mavs Gs, really?
Lynchpin Player: Horford needs to stay healthy. If not this team is a lot worse. and drops out of tier 3.
Max FPPM Key Players:
Omer: 1.25↑: Has a career year defending Anthony Davis but doesnt do enough with blocks and points to really be special.
Hibbert: 1.15↑: Back to somewhere between last season and the ones before.
Love: 1.43↓: Falls off but still an elite .WS guy
Horford 1.29↓: Coming back from injury things get spread out a bit in ATL.
Conley 1.10↓: Gatekeeper
Calderon 1.06↓: Triangle takes the ball out of his hands and assists drop
↑↓

Omer a mediocre WS C didnt hit my mark 1.15
Close on Hibbert with 1.12
Love 1.19 not even close...lol
Horford was slightly better than I thought at 1.32
Despite his good real year Conley is still a meh WS guard, 1.06
Calderon sucked .82

Tier 4: Out the box contenders
#8 Ceej
Ceej had a uncharacteristically good draft helped by the trade with Frank - though he missed on some guys in the middle rounds Big Al and Gasol will anchor his middle nicely. I wonder which of those Fs will step up for him. I really liked the Thad pick when it happened, but on second thought I think he ends up being better in real life than .WS. The guards are led by Lillard who I think continues to improve and I think he might’ve gotten one of the best values in the draft with Deron Williams where he did. In hindsight I wouldnt have drafted Deron or Wade, but I might actually want Deron on my team over Wade. If Kemba reproduces last year - he’ll be up there with the best guard units in the league.
Lynchpin Player: I was going to say Deron, but I’d actually feel more confident with Deron reproducing when healthy. I wonder if Lillard can get back to where he was or better in .WS. which wasnt great because of his minutes.
Lillard 1.12↑: Did his game mature after a summer with Team USA?
Kemba: 1.15↑: Slept on player whose consistently been above 1.10. Does lance hurt or help?
Marc Gasol 1.2↑: Slight uptick nothing spectacular.
Al Jefferson 1.44↑: He’s pretty healthy and I see a monster year for him.
Deron: 1.20↑:Even in most his bad years his around 1.10. He won’t be elite, but he’ll be good til he’s hurt.
Kobe 1.07↑: I think health wont be an issue and reduced minutes help. But will he pass the ball and get any assists?

Dame, Went way above expectations to the tune of 1.2
Close on Kemba at 1.14
Marc Gasol had a big swing and was 1.31
Al Jefferson was a bit of a disappointment at 1.3
Deron at 1.08---never had a super long injury stretch but was below what i thought
Kobe was above what I thought but then got hurt- draw.

Tier 3: Starting to get warm
#9 Longo
Longo loves this team a lot but I think he did himself a disservice trading down for Rubio. According to Synergy a high% of Rubios assists last year went to Klove for jumpshots. Frank’s really only ranked this high because CP3 is THAT good. For some reason he keeps just trying to rebuild his championship team over and over again. This year he’s surrounded with terrible shooters, and granted he may get more assists in transitions I think we see a fall off. Larry Sanders could be a great pick if he can stay healthy (he’s already hurt again). I love the Draymond Green pick. In a contract year he does everything and plays limited minutes. That will really help Frank’s team on his good nights. I had to laugh when Frank pick Jordan Farmar and texted me that he couldnt believe Farmar was still on the board at that point. He’s not the passing pg that will pick up really well behind Paul in WS, conversely Andre Miller was a great pick and will eventually be Frank’s #3. This isn’t the juggernaut Frank team of 2 seasons ago, he’ll have some waiver wire work to do, and if CP3 goes down for 20 games again, watch out now.
Lynchpin Player: For Frank I think this is Larry Sanders. If he can get anywhere near 1.4 and 39 ppg from 2 years ago, thats 2 guys in 60 minutes that will give Frank around 100 with CP3 thats a hell of a boost.
Max FPPM Key Players:
Larry Sanders 1.27↑: Up from last year but not back to elite. Just a above average C who misses some games.
Henson 1.23↑: See Sanders, Larry.
CP3 1.55↓: Last year was insane. I see a “regression” to the meanif you can call it that. The Clippers will look to rest him more and he’s a year older.
Ricky Rubio 1.23↓: Explained above

Was way off on Sanders and Henson
CP3 was slightly above what I thought at 1.58
Rubio was way obove but always hurt at 1.37

↑↓
Tier 3: Starting to get warm
#8 Ryan:
Monster Front line that will have some huge games. Downright Scary. After those 3 I dont like the depth on the team. Jabari is going to be up and down in .ws. Parker is consistent but misses games and doesnt have a lot of upside. Monta was at his best last year and still eh. Don’t trust Payton yet. Funny I say this, but Amare could be the guy who actually brings the rest of the Fs back to life.
Lynchpin Player:
Elfrid Payton: If he can have a 1.1 type season Ryan instantly jumps into contender tier.
Max FPPM Key Players:
Deandre 1.38↑: DJ keeps getting better.
Bron 1.45↑: Not as many big games but consistently great and less minutes.
Monroe 1.25↑: Gets back to his 1.2 ways.
TP 1.07 -: It’s not going back up from here.
Monta .98↓: Regression to the mean Monta.

Deandre was way better at 1.44
Bron played his way up to 1.4 but was still a disappointment
Monroe was better than I thought at 1.29
Parker was below expectation
LOL right on the number at .98

Tier 3: Starting to get warm
#7 TJT:
Anthony Davis, Anthony Davis, Anthony Davis. AD has the potential to set records in this league if he can stay healthy. 1.60 isnt out of the realm of possibility. I love the Dalembert pick. Always a value late. We’ll see what happens with Brook. Tjones is great but on that Houston squad will be up and down. A lot is riding on Hayward and Kawhi stepping up here if Bledsoe can just stay healthy now that he’s gotten paid.
Lynchpin Player: TJT drafted Kawhi projecting a 1.25+ projection. That isnt out of the realm of possibility seeing how he finished the season and the finals. Pop claims they will run plays for him - but we’ll see what happens in the Spurs System. Doesnt help that he’s missed a ton of preseason. If he’s 1.25+ TJT will have some big games
Max FPPM Key Players:
AD: 1.65↑: Primed for the greatest .WS season ever.
Brook: 1.15↓: I don’t think he makes it through another season.
Dalembert: 1.23↑: Plays well cleaning up Knicks messes on both ends.
TJones: 1.15↓: gets better in real life but production slips because Dwight is better.
Kawhi 1.26↑: Stage 1 into him becoming a full fledge star.
Bledsoe: 1.15↑: Slight uptick but doesnt do enough assists to be truly elite.
Hayward: 1.10↑: has a nice season and starts to show his playmaking more.
↑↓

Davis fell below my predicted number at 1.62
Lopez made it through the season and was better at 1.21
Dalembert LOLOL
Tjones got better once he played
Kawhi was even better than i thought
Bledsoe pretty close to my # at 1.17
Hayward had his moments but was 1.07

Tier 3: Starting to get warm
#6 Basa
The injury prone stud centers wont be bad if theyre out on an alternating basis. I have a gut feeling Varejao wont miss a whole lot of games this year. Blake and Pau will hold down the F position with Jordan Hill as the perfect big cleanup man. This might be the deepest Front line so far. But wait -- whose starting at Guard? Darren Collison and Brandon Knight? Doh! There will be some nice games from this team when the guards play well. I actually like Collison a lot. IT3 was overrated in Sac. He had the ball a lot and a high usage. Collison will have the ball a lot also He isnt the scorer IT3 was, but a better and more willing passer. He will be fine. I dont expect Nash to play more than 41 games and that might be generous. Brandon Knight is a mediocre WS player. He just doesnt pass the ball well enough to be good here and now jabari will eat into his ppg.
Lynchpin Player: I think Darren Collison is the x-factor here. If he can get into 1.07-1.1 territory (completely possible in Sac offense) this team will contend.
B Klay Thompson: He’s been on absolute fire in preseason but he plays so many minutes and in the past hasnt done enough other stuff. In the preseason he’s had a couple 5 assists games with kerr’s ball movement. Overall as hot as he’s been he’s still right around 1.0 (still a .21 jump from last season)
Max FPPM Key Players:
Bogut : 1.32↓: Goes down a bit but plays more games.
Andy: 1.35↑: Has the potential to have a big year again with Bron back.
Blake: 1.46↑: Primed for an MVP type season. Needs to get back to early career rebounding to really make it happen but his coring is going to go up.
Pau 1.351↓: Him and Noah will “neutralize” each other abit if you can call it that.
Collison: 1.08↑: System pg but may only play about 26 mpg

Bogut 1.38 and stayed relatively healthy
Varejaout
Blake was below my number at 1.37
Pau had a great year at 1.45
Collison regressed all season to 1.01

Tier 4: Out the box contenders
#3 RBO
You know, I didnt like this team when it was being drafted- I even clowned RBO for it Then I looked at it post draft and was pretty impressed. I had it as high as #2 before settling it at 3. A lot to like with the old guard Timmy and KG manning the FC along with some reliable guards with some upside. one of the things RBO did was draft good flexibility to cover for injuries and time off. If the old guys miss games that will hurt but he’ll still be in the picture come playoff time once RBO learns to set lineups.
Lynchpin Player: Most of RBO’s guys will do what they do but he needs a repeat of last season from Tyreke Evans which is a bit scary. If Tyreke can put together a smilar season, RBO will be there at the finish.
Max FPPM Key Players:
Harden 1.33↑: Didnt quite get what I predicted last season because of a slow start, but after the all star break he was an absolute monster.
Manu 1.20-: Manu do what he do do.
Duncan: 1.45↓ Timmy too - oo.
Tyreke: 1.15↓: Bad in real life not bad in .ws
KG 1.25↑: What a pick that late. I had him on my radar since pick 70 but didnt have the posistion for him. He’ll have a mini bounceback but miss some games.

Hardens MVP season was even above my expectations 1.43
Manu went down to 1.07
Duncan exceeded them at 1.49 and didnt miss all that many games
Tyreke almost spot on at 1.06
KG was good til he got traded

↑↓
Tier 4: Out the box contenders
#2 Ernie
Ernie doesnt take Paul George in the first round and has a nice draft. Dieng and Noel have phenomenal upside at C, and Derrick Favors can cover anytime Noel is out, while he goes into Beast mode this season. last year I had to settle on favors and was unhappy. This year I got screwed out of getting him. he was absolutely my pick there (We’ll do another feature on how my draft would’ve been different had I gotten Favors there). Lots of really good FPPM guys at F and Russy at G. I don’t really trust Wade. I think Ernie picks someone like Kemba, Dragic, or Bledsoe there and the team is even more scary. I like Oladipo but i dont think this is his breakout .ws season quite yet.
Lynchpin Player: DWADE. If he can perform and have a nice bounceback while also not missing a lot of games, Ernie is a 1-2 favorite.
Max FPPM Key Players:
Dieng 1.35↑: Moves up and has some HUGE games but somewhat disappoints with expectations of 1.4+.
Noel: 1.25↑: Has some huge games but again misses time to injury and some duds. A guy to own next season.
Favors1.38↑: He starts moving int real beast mode territory and has a career year everyones been wiating on.
Wessy 1.5-: Huge Year but not much of an improvement in WS due to more minutes and more turnovers.
Wade: 1.20↑: He will have some great games, but sometimes just be alright and have a lot of turnovers trying to do too much on bad wheels.
Oladipo 1.03↑: Moves above 1.0 but not huge. Some good/great games (more than last season) mixed with duds. Playing with ball less leads to less assists but allows him to roam for more rebounds and get less Tos.

I overestimated Dieng 1.18
I overestimated Noel overall but underestimated him if you count the last month 1.16
Westbrook went god mode 1.73
Oladipo still played under my prediction but has been good lately
Wade way under 1.2 or 1.3 at 1.13

Tier 4: Out the box contenders
#1 Shawn
Made a risky trade that has seemingly paid off. Was finished drafting by pick 160 something and was able to get a lot of guys who are solid and mix them with guys who have upside. For the first time didnt draft a rookie, and hasnt made a FA move yet. This team has enough depth to absorb some injuries, and is loaded with guys who will score consistently.
Lynchpin Player: Josh Smith was drafted at a value considering past draft positions, but considering last year’s performance he was overvalued. If SVG can really play him at 4 and keep him near the bucket there is no reason he cant return at least partially to form while playing a solid but not high load of minutes.
**Since its my team ill do max FPPM for every one**
Max FPPM Key Players:
Sully 1.35↑: Ive argued with realrap about him vs Tjones. In real life i still dont know but in WS the way Boston will run their offense through him he has big time potential as long as he doesnt get hurt or more fat.

Sully was below where I thought but he had some great moments. His injury really derailed my championship musings. Thats what you get for depending on a fat guy.

Gobert 1.3↑: Follows up great summer with a nice season and emerges as a great clean up C in WS with limited minutes.

Gobert another win. He was close to my number but once Enes got traded shot up to 1.41

Adams: 1.2↑: I really like what this kid does in real life. Rob doesnt think it translates in WS, I think it does to some degree. he’s gonna board and block shots while also scoring. Like Wessy says “he can catch.” I think he starts to emerge as a star in the NBA we’ll see in .WS

Worse than I thought. had some moments but finished at 1.07.

Dirk 1.18↓: Goes down a bit but not much. Dirk does what he does and plays less minutes with Parsons around.

After Kyrie Dirk was my second biggest L. Just couldnt get consistency but his random big games kept him in my lineup 1.09

Tobias: 1.15↑: He’s had a great summer and offseason. This year he establishes himself as the star of the Magic’s young core and someone they can possibly build around.

.94. Not even close- had the chance, but didnt turn the corner.

Josh Smith: 1.2↑: Midrange Shawty gets closer to the basket after being forced by Ron Van Jeremy. Gets better, but not old elite self (unless traded).

1.19 and he did get better after he was traded.

MKG: 1.05↑: Lots of up and down games but does a better job with boards, steals and blocks and has some real nice games mixed in with duds.

MKG played where I thought he would be at 1.03

Kyrie: 1.27↑: Doesn’t get enough assists to be 1.3 but becomes an efficient guard in WS next to Bron and Love.

Hate to say it but this was one of my killers. At 1.06 if I had a different first pick Id probably still be playing. of guys who played all year Kyrie was pretty much the worst first pick even though he was a second rounder.

MCW 1.18↓: When he plays he has some big games and some average ones but isnt quite able to replicate last season. Still a solid G when he plays.

1.13 I thought hed get better post trade with a decent team. I was wrong. He was around 1.18 in philly. his bad game killed my season in game 4 vs ryan.

Reggie Jack 1.07↑: Playing for that contract without KD, gets some starts and shows his flashes once he recovers from wrist injury.

Hey look AB, you dont have to quit as Commish. Someone ended up at 1.16 :) And Kanter is at 1.10

Jlin7 9.93932923↑: Jlin becomes best basketball player and destroys the galaxy.
Jeremy Lin 1.15↑: Jeremy gets the ball back in his hands and does what he does best. Still some turnover issues but overall markedly improved.

jeremy finished at 1.05 but was hot since AS break hitting for 1.22 last 20 games. SHouldnt have benched him for Kyrie.

George Hill: 1.07↑: I know, I know how the fuck is a guy whose never been over 1.0 gonna get to 1.07? Did he magically get better? No. With PG out he’s gonna get a lot more usage and have the ball a ton. So far in preseason (I know its preseason) he’s been well above 1.0 every game I believe. He picks up the slack on the boards, gets more assists and doesnt turn the ball over a lot. Just a perfect storm. Was really excited about drafting him late til he banged his knee last night.

Probably my biggest W this season was way better than even i thought at 1.24

3.6 fucking points. One less TO and were in OT. Fuuuuuck.

Projecting 344 for game 4, but who knows. Just gotta hope Curry sits soon. FUCK!!!! I want this real bad, guys.

I'm in the Finals of another league right now. I've run the league for 8 years...it's my 3rd finals appearance, and I've had the best record like 5 of 8 years.

I've yet to win that one.

I'm only 2 points ahead right now with 2 more days to go....and I want the title in that league badly, but nothing compared to this.

And this is my first time in the 3rd round here!

game 5 not looking too good for me anyway. Millsap probably won't play, biyombo got hurt last game, curry is on a back to back....Think we looking at a ryan/boogs finals.

2435155, Survivor Finals: LA Bojacks (Ryan) vs Iowa City FaFW (Boogs)
Posted by auragin_boi, Wed Apr-08-15 09:24 AM
Los Angeles Bojacks (34-28, 310.5 Playoff FPPG in 9 games)
The original Sports Nation poll had Ryan ranked #1 in the preseason. (It also predicted 3 of the 4 teams that wouldn't make the playoffs). But I think I hit it on the nose:

"1) Los Angeles Bojacks (Ryan)
Ryan's talking about quitting...in the year he has his best draft. Go figure. Jordan, Monroe, Top 5 Tony and Monta are solid...but then you add Lebron and well...it just gets downright scary. Jabari, Bennett and Payton were great gambles (I think Payton will be a great WS player). G depth 'might' bite him in the butt at some point but he could always drop Blake and Evans to add more G's. Definitely a favorite to win."

A lot of people had Ryan ranked #1 but then, the season started and he stumbled out the gate and pretty much everyone disregarded his team for prettier squads (Basa's, TJT's, Ern's, Cenarios, Shawn's, RBO's). But Ryan kept plugging along, humbly expressing optimism in his squad but never getting overconfident or too low. And then it happened...stride. And at the most perfect of perfect timings. Walton Division title, first round bye and 300+ scores. And he's STILL pressed to win:

Transaction #1397 - 04/08 02:18 EST
Los Angeles picks up Meyers Leonard (POR).

For someone who hasn't been here before, he's making moves like he's studied all the greats (A_B & Ern) on how to finish off that ring given the adversity of late season NBA turbulence. Kudos my friend!

vs

Iowa City Forms a F*cking Wall (35-27, 263.8 Playoff FPPG in 7 games)
NOBODY thought Boogs would be here...including himself. We all shared a laugh at how neurotic he was about his draft trade with Shawn but it only showed how much he cared. Awww...but look at that, it paid off! Jet division title, first round bye and enough consistency to snatch a finals spot away from Ernie. Boogs has been relatively quiet this year (and in recent years really) so I'm guessing he just hit late 30's or 40's or something grown man-like and feels like it's a bit sophomoric to trash talk like he use to (and dude use to throw sharp knives) but I bet the kid in him has the same bright eyed glee he experienced the first *cough* THREE TIMES he made the finals. lol The real question here is, would Boogs commit survivor suicide if he actually went 0-4 in the finals (all losses to the Walton Division mind you, damn, speaking of, the Walton has won most of these titles...Shawn, Me (2), Theo, Robe...that's 5 of 9 and Ryan would make 6 of 10. Would have more if Theo and LABeat didn't choke in 2 appearances, Walton division aka RING CITY!!!).

I use to think Theo was the greatest player in the league. He had a great 4-5 year run in the reg season but he's flamed out in too many post seasons and only made the finals twice. Because of that Ern is right at his heels and Frank needs one more finals appearance to be there too...but Boogs could literally have 4 rings right now...FOUR fam. No one has more trips to the promised land. That says a lot...even if he doesn't win it this year.

Season Series: 3-1 Iowa City
Los Angeles 216.8 @ Iowa City 272.4
Iowa City 284.7 @ Los Angeles 283.0
Iowa City 226.2 @ Los Angeles 234.9
Los Angeles 203.3 @ Iowa City 288.6

Injuries:

Los Angeles:
None

Iowa City:
Lowry (Back)
Robinson (Ankle)
Johnson (Ankle)

Prediction:
Sports.ws says Ryan would win a 7 game set 4-2: http://tinyurl.com/l66glnh

I'm going to agree here with the site. Ryan wins 3-1. His post season run has the perfect combo of strategy, roster makeup (guys still playing, dudes contract balling), pressedness (still roster tweaking) and good luck (no injuries). Will be too much for Boogs to overcome.

LeBron James said he plans to rest before the playoffs, but doesn't have a plan on which game(s) yet.

James' owners will want to keep a close eye on his nightly status as it sounds like any of the Cavs' upcoming games is a possibility for him to rest. Kyrie Irving, J.R. Smith, and Kevin Love stand to see the biggest boost in fantasy value when James sits, so we'll be monitoring this situation for updates.

Losing games 3 and 4 by less than 4 points, and then seeing Biyombo play his best game of the year scared the living shit out of me. Having Clarkson come through to put up just over 1fppm was huge. Obviously, got a little help with Millsap being out.

Just trying to stay pressed, since I've heard that's the only way to win.

I've got no idea as to how this will go with star players resting. I've tried to pick up a few guys who will fill minutes. It's been an insane season, and I've been very lucky with health and the emergence of my guards.

Yeah, not that it'll matter much given the state of my team, but Bron might sit the next two:

LeBron James is hinting that he may sit out the next two games, both of which are against the Boston Celtics.

The Cavs have clinched the No. 2 seed in the East and have nothing left to play for. James had a nice game on Wednesday against the Bucks and Brian Windhorst is suggesting he'll sit out the next two, which works in Boston's favor if true. The Celtics and Nets are currently in the playoffs, but the Pacers and Heat are just one game behind them in the standings. The Celtics getting to miss LeBron in two straight games could be a huge win for them in their quest for the playoffs, while LeBron's fantasy owners need to prepare for life without him over the next week. Iman Shumpert could be the guy to benefit most from him missing games.

Also: damn you!

The lineup locks suck, but what can you do?

We do need to modify the payouts though. You can barely be a top ten team and win a division. Should have the money allotted towards regular season champ, either points, record or both, or conference champs.
2435728, Eh...I disagree, only because we are now swapping divisions
Posted by auragin_boi, Fri Apr-10-15 02:47 PM
Every 2 years.

Sometimes a division is gonna suck (injuries, bad drafts, stronger divisions, etc.) but since we mix it up, everybody is more likely to have that now and not just one group in one division.

Most wins would be cool I suppose...top 2 records in each conference but 'eh'. Highest avg? Eh. And conference champs get paid, either winner or runner up funds.

Its still not "hard" to win the division. You have a 1 in 4 shot of doing so. TJ had a way better team than Boogs and Ryan, yet gets nothing. Being good for 62 games is harder than being fortunate for 5.

I mean regular season conference champs. Personally, I would eliminate division winner money and put it ALL towards regular season champ.

Yea to me division money is not worth it especially since we are gonna switch evwryb2 years. I mean I've been in a tough division my whole survivor life.

I like putting it towards top score or top record. Originally my thought was top record but top score is the least "luck" over the course of the season.

I agree with this too. Add it to the overall pot or score/record winner from regular season pot.

If anything top 2 division winners
2435749, My point wasn't that it's 'hard' per say, but that it's not something
Posted by auragin_boi, Fri Apr-10-15 04:17 PM
everyone won't be exposed to at some point.

>shot of doing so. TJ had a way better team than Boogs and
>Ryan, yet gets nothing. Being good for 62 games is harder than

And I've won a division probably twice in 10 years. It ain't THAT easy. And I'd argue it's a lot harder to maneuver the sharp volatility of the playoffs than the long haul, tweakable, trade open, regular season. The post season is the regular season on a 150 rpms.

The only way to resolve any 'perceived' fairness issues would be to do away with divisions. But given the unevenness of the schedule, someone will ultimately say "Well only reason he won is because he played Magilla's team 4 times and I only played him 3".

Also, eliminated divisions might backfire and disenfranchise owners not having such a great season because they have no shot earlier on. If they are in a division with other struggling teams, at least they could work to win their division.

I mean, I have a preference but we can collectively decide.

>I mean regular season conference champs. Personally, I would
>eliminate division winner money and put it ALL towards regular
>season champ.

Reason we came up with division winners is engagement. Keeps everyone chasing at least a piece of the pie. If everyone thinks it isn't needed anymore...cool. Again, we can collectively decide.

So did Reggie jack and kanter do enough to keep you around next year?

You have some of the participation and feedback you want right now. Strike while the iron is hot and ask for people's opinions and a vote instead of making the executive decision and saying "x or y is the only thing we should consider" when at least 2 people think otherwise.

Like I said this is the first time in years people are somewhat interested this deep in the playoffs. You shut us all down and we may end up going back to the non participating league you were shitting on early this season.
2435755, Not really but whatever...

>So did Reggie jack and kanter do enough to keep you around

Karma did it's thing so I'm cool. I'm just not gonna care as much, which is probably better for the league anyway.

>You have some of the participation and feedback you want right
>now. Strike while the iron is hot and ask for people's

1) 'SHOULD' does not imply executive decision. It implies that that's MY preference.

2) When the season ends, I'll do one offseason post that will cover all new proposals/votes, etc...like I normally do.

>Like I said this is the first time in years people are
>somewhat interested this deep in the playoffs. You shut us all
>down and we may end up going back to the non participating
>league you were shitting on early this season.

People paid more attention this year because the NBA was more fun to pay attention to (and a few dudes who typically aren't very good/mediocre, had good seasons). Guys that sucked...didn't do much (besides me) LABeat was tempered, Matt practically quit a 3rd through the season, Magilla crawled into a shell after the Bogut/Durant fiasco and Robe...the defending champ, punted on pretty much the whole season.

I doubt me making any 'executive decision' about how money is paid out would have any bearing on participation unless I said "Win, lose or draw...THE COMMISH GETS ALL THE CASH!".

Hopefully we have the same activity or more next year. But I wouldn't be surprised at a 'regression to the mean' (c) Batty dawg.

We'll vote, like we normally do...even if you had a case of convenient amnesia during Drummondgate. It's cool.
2435760, I wouldn't be mad at a slightly shortened season.

at all. Is funny cause I can see how you can think it is in hindsight. But none of my suggestions even thought 1% about you.

Any changes I suggest are for future seasons and not this season at all/.

I just saw the "harder to be good for 62 games than lucky for 5" and how winning a division shouldn't mean what it does, etc and projected. Apologies.

Doesn't look like Carroll is.

I'm in trouble for game 3.
2435992, Yeah, but his mins will cancel out Greek Freak's minutes
Posted by JBoogs, Sun Apr-12-15 06:05 PM
So unless he plays a game as good or better, it's a disadvantage for me that he's playing.

2436008, You need about 44-45 points, straight up
Posted by JBoogs, Sun Apr-12-15 08:06 PM
Amare (assuming he plays) and Clarkson are pretty much guaranteed to get that.
I need a miracle.

Oh well.

Little scared because I needed a terrible game from both Noah and Wall to get this close but fingers crossed for the next game.

Edit - I guess he put up like 11.6 in the first half. Id need a 33 point half. Not gonna happen. Sigh.
2436027, He's up to around 30 now

Clarkson has around 30 (less with that last to) so I need some stat padding here. Can I get 15 points?! Cmon.

Really with literally anyone of these guys had played. I don't like my chances with Wall and Noah not having sub par games and Lebron out the rest of the series.

Either way fun sweating it for a second. One less TO and it coulda been even more fun. Kinda dope to be able to make lineup changes a little closer to real time now.
2436075, damn ryan...another close loss.

Waivers Weasel

Awarded to the team that best milks their low winning percentage. They're the team always seems to scoop up players off waivers at the very last minute when you've been first in line for a full day, and the team that always seems to have 13 players on their team.

If olynyk plays his usual 22, I'll get about 25 from Marvin and like 22 from Kelly for about 353. That's gotta be close to a record right?

2436639, This has been the craziest fantasy season I've ever had.
Posted by Ryan M, Wed Apr-15-15 12:07 PM
As noted up above somewhere - I run another league (Yahoo, but points system similar to Survivor) and had continually been a top seed. I've played for 8 years and my seeds were 2, 2, 1, 1, 1, 1, 1, 4, 1 and I FINALLY won this year after 3 finals appearances.

THAT was sweet.

But this? This is another level.

I thought I had an okay draft but was really bummed my Greg Monroe pick autodrafted rather than getting a guard, which I sorely needed at that point (and there were a lot of solid Gs drafted after - Lillard, Kemba, Bledsoe, etc.). I was stuck with T5T and Monta as my top 2 guards, which bummed me the fuck out.

Little did I know that Elfrid Payton was going to come on in the way he did - AND I'd have the best FA pickup since Ramon Sessions in Jordan Clarkson.

But DJ going crazy (especially without Blake) was unexpected. When I had an opportunity to grab a solid CF and a FG by getting rid of a slumping Monroe and a terrible Tony Parker, I did it (to the chagrin of TJT, unfortunately). Well, Josh Smith getting amnestied really bolstered Monroe...but I still didn't hate the trade as it gave me 3 solid G's to play around with.

I picked up so many FAs - some good, some bad, but it was all in the experimentation and continually staying pressed. I got lucky with Clarkson, of course. A lot of luck hit me at the right time and, while I thought my team was a contender when the playoffs started, I certainly didn't expect to average 304 per game in the playoffs.

So, a crazy season to be sure. 9-4 in the 'offs, with 3 of those 4 losses by a margin of less than 4 points. Lots of sweats (that 5 game series was CRAZY). I caught a lot of lucky breaks, but you kinda have to, right?

At any rate...feels pretty rad to win this. I've played this for a bunch of seasons now and had never even been to the conference finals. I felt like I truly figured out how to successfully experiment with lineup changes and 'coaching' this year...and I'd say that even if I didn't win.

I'll gloat more, but now I'm trying to get in that dos trofeos club.

For now tho -
