I hear what you're saying but I don't see how that's a selling point - and it clearly isn't an angle that can help Reigns right now. How's he supposed to say: "I know you're all mad at me for being hand-picked but top brass and not being ready to take this next step in my career and being pushed over other people, but let's put all that aside now and focus on the fact that I haven't lost a match since FCW".

I don't see how that endears to him fans at this point or makes him more sympathetic towards them.

Had he not been heading to Mania against Lesnar, had he not won the Rumble and faced the Backlash then absolutely, yes: him vs Rusev at Mania with that as the selling point would be perfect.
