2360441, Chicago has evolved into a great pitching and defense team Posted by Orbit_Established, Wed Aug-20-14 02:28 PM
That SHORTSTOP is A-M-A-Z-I-N-G...maybe the best I've seen since Profar played for Curacao in 05 (I think it was 05)
And he's SMALL, which mean its skill, and he hasn't peaked physically
And that Biggie Smalls looking kid has SUPER mound control, poise
And those closer?!??! Good lord.
all three of them (Biggie, the closer kid, and the shortstop) are all tiny and 12 years old, I think...so they haven't hit their growth spurts, which is what you scout for
But man...that Shortstop
He's got balance, timing, a good arm, instincts you can't teach...his favorite player is Tulowitzki, which means you can tell son loves the game
Interestingly, Chicago's biggest problem is offense now
That Pierce Jones kid has definitely suffered from that early tear, because now he thinks he can hit everything out of the park, and pitches have adjusted and have him chasing stuff
For all the talk of their "athleticism" they are winning with pitching, defense and contact hitting.
Their speed puts pressure on defenses, but they aren't raking the ball anymore
