but Morey has told Chandler, look, that's the business. Keep playing and you can get your contract in free agency. What happened with Boozer was an odd situation where he convinced Cleveland to release him early, so that Cleveland could "make him whole" or whatever (basically Cleveland was going to give Boozer the raise he deserved), but by doing that Carlos became unrestricted and bounced straight out of town.
Chandler is restricted. If Morey wants to retain him, he just has to match. It's much more similar to the Batum situation, where the Blazers always wanted to retain him but Nic and his agent had to use the market to set a fair price.
But basically if Morey wants to retain Parsons, he can. It's not similar to the Boozer situation at all.
