@WojYahooNBA
Orlando has agreed to send Arron Afflalo to Denver for Evan Fournier and 56th pick in 2014 Draft, league sources tell Yahoo Sports.
2343399, Don't get this at all.

Seem like selling insanely low on Afflalo. I guess Rob Hennigan is a big fan of Fournier. I'm not sure why clearing cap space would be such a big issue since they already have a lot of it and if they don't have Afflalo then what kind of Win Now scenario are they cooking up?
2343401, Me Neither

I heard they made an offer to Cleveland that had Afflalo and their lotto pick for the #1 overall (and maybe another player)...that to me made a lot more sense

They could've gotten more for Afflalo than Fournier and a 2nd rounder...doesn't make a lot of sense
2343402, Every GM must be on the phone with Orlando

Like, "Woah Woah Woah, I can beat that offer!"

Would have liked to see Ainge use our trade exception and one of our young guys to nab Arron.
2343405, Maybe they are readying monster deals for RFAs
Posted by SoulHonky, Thu Jun-26-14 10:30 AM
Going after Parsons and Bledsoe or something. I don't know. Very bizarre.
2343406, Yeah, That's What I'm Guessing
Posted by RexLongfellow, Thu Jun-26-14 10:33 AM
Because why do they need another 2nd round pick? It's gotta be a move to package in a pick to get another player...had to cost them Afflalo though
2343400, whaaaaat?

I guess I should be excited because this means that Orlando is out of trading up for 1, since the Sixers deal would be better (3 and 10 > 4 and 12). But the deal makes so little sense on the surface, that I feel like I am missing something and the other shoe has yet to drop.
2343407, it's just too easy to trade for vet's in the nba
Posted by rjc27, Thu Jun-26-14 10:33 AM
I get not the idea of getting overpaid guys for cheap, but a 28 year old with a fair cap # who plays defense, averages 20 ppg and hit's 3's... wtf... how did nobody else in the nba offer more? How did the Bulls not do this?
2343485, my exact thoughts gar-pax got beat again..our GM's are the worst
Posted by select_from_where, Thu Jun-26-14 12:04 PM
2343552, Dunno about other teams, but Hornets offered a bit more
Posted by plymouth, Thu Jun-26-14 01:25 PM
They offered their 24th pick and Gerald Henderson. Charlotte media was saying they may have been willing to offer 9th pick straight up. I guess Orl didn't want to trade within division.
2343423, Ugh

2343424, got dammit
Posted by jdevolve1, Thu Jun-26-14 10:53 AM
and we couldn't have given them Hendo and the 45th pick? Fuck....
2343434, That wouldn't cut salary
Posted by SoulHonky, Thu Jun-26-14 10:57 AM
Which seems like the main thrust of this trade for Orlando.
2343444, harkless. harris. 4. 12. can absorb a big salary.
Posted by themaddfapper, Thu Jun-26-14 11:08 AM
something's going on. dunno what. but something is.
2343486, WHAT THE FUCK IS WRONG WITH CHICAGOS FRONT OFFICE!
Posted by select_from_where, Thu Jun-26-14 12:05 PM
this dude was supposed to be the consolation prize. this is ridiculous.
2343491, Clear salary dump..Orlando about to make a move
Posted by LA2Philly, Thu Jun-26-14 12:08 PM
2343501, damn they really did just let him go for a bag of rocks
Posted by Lach, Thu Jun-26-14 12:28 PM
2343539, Fournier is cheap & can play(Manu lite) / They don't want to pay Affalo
Posted by FILF, Thu Jun-26-14 01:07 PM
I'm assuming they are going to draft a point guard & move Dipo permanently to Shooting Guard. Thus, Affalo would have to play SF or come off the bench. They already have a couple of guys that can play SF for cheap (Harris/Harkless) & they probably don't want to give him a fat contract to come off the bench (Fournier can be a decent 6th man for cheap).
2343541, that still doesnt explain that shitty pick they got back tho
Posted by select_from_where, Thu Jun-26-14 01:13 PM
I understand its a salary dump but DAMN
2343520, Unless Orlando makes a big move or signing, it's inexplicable.

2343530, I think it’s obvious they’re trying their hand at something bigger.
Posted by Cold Truth, Thu Jun-26-14 12:57 PM
It’s not like they were on track to make any serious noise this coming season anyways, so this is most likely a calculated risk to enable potentially bigger moves with relatively little downside.
2343531, don't understand that one....
Posted by Warren Coolidge, Thu Jun-26-14 12:58 PM
2343615, I used to be jealous of Aaron Afflalo (c)Kendrick/Celtics Fans
Posted by Dstl1, Thu Jun-26-14 03:58 PM
.
2344156, yeah I really didn't get this trade ...
Posted by QBoogie, Fri Jun-27-14 11:32 AM
... but apparently management knows more than the public. My buddy who's a big Magic fan is liking the move and the direction they're headed. Feels like they're trying to be a mini spurs of some sort.
2344161, The lack of shooting is more like Detroit
Posted by SoulHonky, Fri Jun-27-14 11:41 AM
Nicholson is probably their best shooter right now. Defenses are going to pack things in next year.
