2343110, Chandler returning to Dallas?
Posted by SoulHonky, Wed Jun-25-14 03:33 PM
Marc Stein tweeted:

"Sources tell ESPN that Mavericks are in advanced talks on deal to complete trade that will bring Chandler and Raymond Felton to Dallas Proposed deal would send two Mavs starters to Knicks -- Sam Dalembert and Jose Calderón -- as well as prized young guard Shane Larkin."

If Dirk takes a hometown discount, maybe they can make a run at 'Melo.

2343111, meh.

2343113, damn knicks about to lose their best offensive player for a bag of dildos
Posted by southphillyman, Wed Jun-25-14 03:42 PM
2343116, wtf at that calderon contract. What am i missing?
Posted by Cenario, Wed Jun-25-14 03:49 PM
2343119, Yeah, it would have to be a three team deal
Posted by SoulHonky, Wed Jun-25-14 04:04 PM
Or the Knicks have a separate deal to move him. I like Calderon but I have no idea why the Knicks would want his 3 year, 21+ contract.
2343142, A serviceable efficient PG making 7mill and you Mad? CHILL B

Plus we get a prospect in Shane, 2nd rd picks. All for an underachieving center and felton. We still got shumpert as a chip too.

Its a solid trade.
2343157, I'm looking long term and I don't want Calderon contract on the book
Posted by Cenario, Wed Jun-25-14 05:43 PM
After next season...since Chandlers woulda be gone then anyway.

Unless another is deal is imminent, this is hustling backwards imo.
2343310, Its not hustling backwards if its a good player and a ok contract
Posted by Radio Rahim, Thu Jun-26-14 04:38 AM
he's easily movable this season if we need to make an immediate move or next off season.

Add in the fact he's a solid starter.

We are fine.
2343322, eh....we disagree. it's cool tho.
Posted by Cenario, Thu Jun-26-14 08:06 AM
I still don't think the crux of this deal was for ny to land Calderon tho lol.
2343123, aren't they supposed to be "targeting" Pau too?
Posted by ThaTruth, Wed Jun-25-14 04:16 PM
2343141, If Chandler's there, Pau seems like he'd be out
Posted by SoulHonky, Wed Jun-25-14 04:48 PM
I'd think they'd focus on a SF like 'Melo or (more likely) Deng or maybe split it up between a couple of guys making 8 million like Teague and Jeff Green (if they can swing those deals somehow.)
2343130, Clearing space for Melo's max contract.
Posted by select_from_where, Wed Jun-25-14 04:28 PM
2343139, Also includes two draft picks
Posted by Chanson, Wed Jun-25-14 04:44 PM
34th and 51st picks this year.

Just glad Felton is gone.
2343143, LOVE THIS DEAL.

2343180, lol
Posted by Poorspellir, Wed Jun-25-14 07:12 PM
2343152, Hope this is true. #KnicksTape i like Calderon & Larkin
Posted by Radio Rahim, Wed Jun-25-14 05:33 PM
Plus the picks sweeten the deal
2343154, Basically
Posted by RexLongfellow, Wed Jun-25-14 05:38 PM
calderon's deal isn't too bad...he can hit an open shot
add the picks and dumping Felton? Do that deal
2343174, Calderon.
Posted by Castro, Wed Jun-25-14 06:50 PM
2343165, Good move, Monta wasn't getting far w/ washed up Dirk playing wingman
Posted by FILF, Wed Jun-25-14 06:20 PM
2343430, Good move, Tyson's never gotten past 2nd rnd w/o Dirk carrying him there
Posted by 40thStreetBlack, Thu Jun-26-14 10:55 AM
2343189, hate to see Larkin go
Posted by SeV, Wed Jun-25-14 07:51 PM

2343191, theyre trying to re-move larkin
Posted by ShawndmeSlanted, Wed Jun-25-14 08:04 PM
The Knicks are trying to move Samuel Dalembert and Shane Larkin, according to Chris Herring of the Wall Street Journal.
Now that the Knicks have the 34th pick in the draft, they at least have some ammunition to get into the first round. Larkin was a top-20 pick last year and he could be used here to sneak into the 20-30 range with that 34th pick. The Knicks probably are not too attached to Dalembert and could wind up buying him out.

Believe what you want. But I'd rather have a blue collar no-name Center. Chandler is far too entitled.
2343200, That's Terrible
Posted by RexLongfellow, Wed Jun-25-14 08:28 PM
I heard he threw Woody under the bus, but to blame Woodson when under him you got DPOY is just grimy

And I was a fan of Chandler (still like him), but I lost a TON of respect for him when he got buttfucked by Roy Hibbert in the playoffs (said he was sick/injured...fuck that)

And to see how bad Hibbert played this year made me more angry at Chandler
2343209, That had to do w/ Hibby beasting in 2013 than Tyson

Hibbert absolutely demolished the Heat & played just as well against the Hawks.

vs. Hawks: 14/8/2 (48%)
vs. Knicks: 13/10/3 (47%)
vs. Heat: : 22/10/1 (56%)

>And to see how bad Hibbert played this year made me more angry

Hibbert sucked against everyone in the 2014 post-season. Dude had a quadruple bogey.
2343201, Assuming Chandler is healthy next season
Posted by Numba_33, Wed Jun-25-14 08:31 PM
good move for the Mavs since he'll (potentially) give them good defensive presence, but will this even move them ahead of the other two Texan teams, muchless other teams in the West?

And it goes without saying that as a Knicks fan, I am as happy as I can be at the current moment now that Felton is off the team. Remarkable of Phil to include him in the deal and get picks back. I would have to imagine Felton will fully enjoy Texas' looser gun laws as well.

LOL@ defensive presence cmon none of yall have watch tyson the last two yrs muthafucka was known to escort pgs into the lane and watch them lay him up time and time again, he can't catch any pass that ain't a lob he is trash.
2343255, Knicks have recently been notorious for killing Big-men's career

Y'all remember when Camby/McDyess were on their way out of the league before they moved onto a different city (Camby became DPOY eventually). I bet Amare signs w/ the Suns next summer & plays 70+ games. Shyt, Z-Bo was Andre Blatche status w/ the Knicks then ended up becoming an All-Star.....It's the City Y'all (c) Common

Marbury/Francis's careers were also buried at MSG.

WTF are you talking about Camby was a flop in toronto til he came on the scene in NY in 99 just for lying i will ignore your other statements that is what i call theory of tautology gtfoh
2343321, Calderon/Monta were a bad fit, trade makes sense for both teams
Posted by rjc27, Thu Jun-26-14 08:03 AM
Monta dominates the ball, which worked well for Dallas but relegated Calderon to a spot up 3 point shooter (a money one at that). Him averaging 4.7 assists with all those scorers was a shock to me (and my fantasy season)

Still though I'm surprised they had to throw in Larkin plus 2 2nd's this year, quite the haul for the Knicks... I personally can not stand Tyson Chandler, most overrated NY athlete in the past 10 years by NY fans, they treated this dude like Dwight Howard when he can't score, and for such a good defender he repeatedly got cooked by good offensive centers... any given night Samuel Dalembert can be a more effective player...

If I'm a Knicks fan, my hope for next year is now a starting 5 of Calderon/JR/Melo/Andrea/Pau with Hardaway Jr., 34th pick this year, and whatever other scraps they rile up off the bench giving them a solid 8 or 9 man rotation, I'm assuming though they definitely move up now with all the ammo they have... Larkin/Shump/2 2nd's should get them into round 1 somewhere
2343323, nice to see OKS come round on tyson hate
Posted by Cenario, Thu Jun-26-14 08:08 AM
Only reason the knicks were desperate for him was bc Dantoni was our coach smh.
2343338, If Cuban would've just signed TC to begin with we'd have CP3
