How many guys get taken and don't get tick until year three anyway? In reality, with so many one-and-dones, the NBA is already moving to where it should be with the D League as a team-affiliated minor league. We see in baseball and hockey guys who get taken between 18 and 20 and need seasoning. Two guys get the training--physical and technical--at a pro level while avoiding wear and tear. Another continues to play in a high-level pro league overseas. I don't see anything entirely novel or wrong with the strategy.
