Bensalem (Pa.) High School’s Kevin Grow, who was born with Down syndrome and had been the basketball team’s manager for the last four years until suiting up for the team’s final two games, joined the Philadelphia Sixers on Monday, the team signing the senior to a ceremonial two-day contract.
The 18-year-old scored three points in his debut game as a high schooler. The next day, he scored a game-high 14 points, including a 3-pointer at the buzzer. “I hit a buzzer-beater and it was party time in the locker room,” Grow said at the time.

“Grow has become an inspiration to the Sixers organization, as his story has swept the nation,” a statement from the NBA team said.
After he signed the contract, Grow joined the Sixers on the floor toward the end of practice and shot around with his new teammates.
He will get his own Sixers jersey and locker at the Wells Fargo Center and participate in pregame activities prior to Tuesday’s night game against the Cavaliers, including taking part in the high-five tunnel when players take the court and standing with them during the national anthem.
