2280866, that's what's dope about them to me. Posted by Vex_id, Thu Dec-26-13 06:57 PM
1.) he WILL prob. clock Maidana w/ that right-hand repeatedly, just blinding Maidana w/ overall speed and dexterity to where he is so puzzled that all he can do is just cover up in a shell like somebody who is just trying to not get hit by any more fire.
2.) he WILL prob. dominate Khan (after some fast/competitive rounds) to the point where Khan gets hit w/ huge shots and spends himself early in the fight (similar to how hatton did) - setting up a brutal KO
3.) he WILL prob. just out-box, and bully the smaller Pacquiao to where he subdues him like he did Judah, after some early moments of adversity, and ends up just keeping lil Pac-man at the end of his jab en route to a rather technically/physically dominant UD over him.
not just trill, but realism. gotta Salute it.

2280871, Agreed on all points. Crazy how every game plan his opps come with, Posted by Radio Rahim, Thu Dec-26-13 07:11 PM
we've never seen Floyd be forced to change/adjust what he does. He might be the only fighter I've ever seen do this for such a long period of time.

I expect 3-4 rounds of some of the best footwork and handspeed we've seen in a fight in some time. Good Amir Khan rounds are some of the best displays of skill in boxing.
Bad Amir Khan rounds are him going nighty night.

so true. Probably two of the main reasons I love to watch him fight, too.

2280907, I'll admit I wanted Paulie to beat Amir but he impressed me a lot Posted by Radio Rahim, Thu Dec-26-13 09:37 PM
in that fight and also in the fights after. He has the skill...you can tell he's dedicated to his craft. Unfortunately you can't teach a chin and he damn sure don't got it.
But i respect the fact that he's not afraid to mix it up but he gotta stay away from brawling. Definitely a fun fighter to watch.

2280988, pac can be and has been been outboxed Posted by T Reynolds, Fri Dec-27-13 09:26 AM
i don't know about bullied by bigger fighters though

2281147, RE: pac can be and has been been outboxed Posted by Vex_id, Fri Dec-27-13 03:55 PM
>i don't know about bullied by bigger fighters though
true indeed - he hasn't really ever been bullied by bigger guys (save for 2 minute of his fight w/ Margarito).. and that's remarkable because he's consistently fought bigger guys in virtually every fight for the past few years.
Against Mayweather though - I see size playing a significant factor in how well Floyd will be able to handle Pac's power and ultimately walk him down late in the fight. Just my opinion.

2281181, I agree that size will be a clear advantage for floyd b/c he's the faster fighter Posted by Radio Rahim, Fri Dec-27-13 04:33 PM
Pac has fought bigger fighters but his speed negated that. With floyd having both the size, speed and defensive advantage that will make Pac a moving (but still sitting duck) every second of the fight.
And yeah I think it ends like all floyd fights: Floyd picking Pac apart by round 5-6 and Pac getting pot shotted at will. His offense is his best weapon but it plays into Floyd's lair.
|
2281192, naw it's been years since we've seen floyd deal with hand speed Posted by southphillyman, Fri Dec-27-13 04:50 PM
not going to make any assumptions about floyd being faster or being able to handle mannys speed at this point he struggled like shit in the first half of that zab fight mainly because he was facing some one with comparable hand speed he's been fighting fighters with average to below avg. hand speed every since that's why the khan fight is kind of intriguing (only reason actually)
|
2281200, Khan/Floyd would end up like Prince/Barrera Posted by FILF, Fri Dec-27-13 05:32 PM
Amir always seemingly wins the early rounds w/ his boxing skills(sans the Prescott bout) but he can't take a shot & gets picked apart once the opponent figures him out. I could see Floyd feeling him out for about 4 rounds then picking him apart and eventually TKO'ing him.
I can see Pacquiao going out like Mosley or Hearns....basically come out for the kill from the bell & hurt Floyd but then get KO'd in the early rounds or shut out the rest of the way.
Maidana would get his ass handed to him just like Robert Guerrero......remember when folks thought he had a chance because he beat another over-hyped fighter who was suppose to challenge Floyd....yeah, wack ass Berto!

I wonder how much regret Floyd will feel if he doesn't fight those top notch guys for whatever reasons.

2280900, I'll tell you how much Posted by Orbit_Established, Thu Dec-26-13 09:18 PM

Over half a billion dollars and all of his brain cells tells me he'll give zero fucks

2280914, it's all business to him Posted by southphillyman, Thu Dec-26-13 10:14 PM
|
2280986, I actually don't think it's all business Posted by Vex_id, Fri Dec-27-13 09:16 AM
not as much as he portrays it to be.
If it is all business then he would have made the pacquiao fight by now - since that would clearly generate the biggest numbers/$ - and likely break all records earning Floyd his biggest payday yet.
So there are some things that aren't all business when it comes to Floyd.

2280912, excellent promotional move Posted by southphillyman, Thu Dec-26-13 10:10 PM
those could be 3 potential opponents for his next fight we all know it'll probably be khan but could you imagine a floyd vs. maidana fight? that could do 1.5MM buys imo, probably more (1.7?) i'm hoping that's the next fight
|
2280916, such great timing with Broner taking the L to Maidana Posted by T Reynolds, Thu Dec-26-13 10:28 PM
if people think Mayweather / Maidana will be ANYTHING like that fight?
ha
couldn't have had a better set-up than Broner / Maidana
|
2280999, this is why floyd should take it, lol Posted by southphillyman, Fri Dec-27-13 10:04 AM
like when canelo got exposed by trout and floyd popped up out of no where wanting that fight suddenly after canelo had been begging for it for a year smart. make a fight while the opponent is most hyped and risk is minimal

2281125, I feel like Mayweather sent that conciliatory tweet to AB Posted by T Reynolds, Fri Dec-27-13 03:38 PM
