2278162, Broner post-fight interview surfaces via Showtime Sports

damn. Definitely seems like dude is broken
down in a few ways from the fight - as one
would imagine he would be.

I'd like to see him bounce back and recommit
to the sport - the hatred being thrown at
him is expected, but nonetheless excessive.

Showtime will have the full interview up shortly.

Anybody who acts like he did before, during and after that fight deserves everything he is getting. Hopefully this humbles him, but I doubt it.
2278220, I ain't give a shit about the stuff he did before the fight.
Posted by b2thej, Wed Dec-18-13 09:22 AM
Hell dudes are trying to market themselves to get as much exposure as possible. While I don't agree with it I get it BUUUTTTTT that shit he was doing in the ring especially when he did the humping I immediately wanted Maidana to knock his ass out. Respect the sport.
2278223, damn @ the girl in the background. she looks hurt
Posted by T Reynolds, Wed Dec-18-13 09:36 AM
I never hated Adrien like that, I did want to see him get beat, and Maidana fought a hell of a fight and made me a fan.

At least he did an interview and kept it relatively together. B-Hop's comments about only getting to leave the ring like AB did when you get robbed were on point, but at least there is some footage that shows he swallowed that bitter pill (made more so by his approach to marketing himself as a fighter) and gave credit to the guy who flat out beat him.

From the interview I feel he will definitely be back. I feel he is disappointed and not used to losing, but not that he was broken. He showed some heart in the fight, it's nowhere near a career ender.
2278227, What do you think about the cheating allegations?
Posted by EmDub, Wed Dec-18-13 10:04 AM
Smelling salts? Other?

That crew is know to be shady.

2278236, Looked like vaseline. when you look at him rub it on the towel
Posted by T Reynolds, Wed Dec-18-13 10:31 AM
and then rub it on his nose that's what it looked like

Ariza said he was letting Maidana blow his nose, which sounds worse because he clearly puts something ON it before putting it to Maidana's face

Fuck Ariza but I doubt he would resort to smelling salts with the camera right behind his shoulder

2278239, I see Madiana kind of jerk his head back though
Posted by EmDub, Wed Dec-18-13 10:39 AM
Could be he was just in pain but it is a little shady.

Doesn't change the fact that he dominated, just interesting when you know a cheater is inveigled, what else were they doing?

2278243, that would be a dumb way of doing it.
Posted by Cenario, Wed Dec-18-13 10:41 AM
should have had the pill in napkin prepped prior to the round ending.

cheaters know how to cheat lol
2278248, he said it was nose/mouth gauze
Posted by southphillyman, Wed Dec-18-13 10:50 AM
there are pics of what that looks like out on the net, it's shaped like the shit he was using
ariza is a dickhead but i don't think he's THAT dumb to blatantly cheat a week after one of his fighters got caught
2278253, I can understand the suspicion - it looks suspicious
Posted by Vex_id, Wed Dec-18-13 10:56 AM
and it should be investigated - and from
what I understand it is being investigated.

As far as it being a pill - I don't think it
was. If it was anything it was a smelling salt
or a powder of some sort (meth amphetamine) that
he put up to Maidana's nose and he snorted it
so that it would instantly enter the bloodstream
and have an immediate effect. The reason I can
see that being possible is because Ariza is pinching
something on the napkin - holds it up to Maidana's
head - and then Maidana appears to cock his head back,
inhale, and his eyes seem to get big. He did look
gassed and a bit hurt/buzzed in the 11th & 12 rounds
and I given Ariza's history - it should be investigated.

But until there's anything conclusive Maidana is innocent
and his win should not be tarnished.

Explaining it away as gauze, Okay

I'm not sure why someone needs to inhale gauze 3 times

there was obviously something else present that Ariza is collecting with his fingers

even the gauze could have something on it

Why is Ariza still involved in professional boxing?
2278273, AB has the other welterweights salivating....

after what they saw maidana do. dudes like keith thurman will light that ass up. all the heavy hitters at 147 would fk him up.

except for danny garcia (the only WW who doesn't want to fight floyd) who is probably friends with AB and doesn't want to fight him, cuz he's a bitch.
2278276, LMAOOO. Why you don't like Danny Garcia?

danny's ok. he's a solid B IMO. i think amir "no chin" khan would get revenge in a rematch.

of course, his dad is fkn annoying, needless to say.

he just comes off soft. especially when it comes to questions about fighting floyd. everyone from 140 to 160 wants to fight floyd. shit, even bhop wants a piece. except this dude.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9p2TDb6Wx08

anyway, i think danny will get beat before he gets that opportunity. although it wouldn't surprise if he did get beat and gbp made the match anyway. floyd's still got some showtime ppv dates to fill up.
2278289, All hate dropped for Danny after he dominated Mattyshe

2278291, i give him props for that definitely....

2278292, I expected Lucas to do to Danny what Maidana did to broner

...the reality is, there were a lot of low blows by Garcia in that fight, even some elbows that Danny used....I believe dude could beat him if they fought again, and had a quality ref...watch it again, totally blatent ish...

2278284, garcia was talking about fighting him if he won that fight
Posted by southphillyman, Wed Dec-18-13 01:00 PM
it's bad enough there are basically two divisions in boxing
last thing we need is multiple fighters in the same weight classes refusing to fight each other because they had a sleepover last night or whatever
roger mayweather was talking GREASY about broner after the fight too
i wouldn't rule out mayweather vs. broner actually
2278290, lmao why?
Posted by the_time_is_when_god...lounge, Wed Dec-18-13 01:10 PM
2279289, Roger had me in tears talking about Broner

2278468, broner doesn't want it with Thurman...no way..
Posted by Warren Coolidge, Wed Dec-18-13 08:08 PM
now that we all see that you can hit Bronner in the head when you step to him, and he doesn't throw many punches to get his opponent off of him...

Thurman would knock him out..he too heavy handed...
2278583, Danny Garcia's not a WW
Posted by AlBundy, Wed Dec-18-13 10:46 PM
yet.

you are correct. i actually forgot he was still at 140. but as we know any of the top guys in that 140-147 mix are usually mentioned as potential opponents.

speaking of 140.......i'd rather see danny g. vs floyd then "glass chin" khan.
2278463, I aint look at anything but the bitty in the back.
