Not really, there was no serious contract impasse with any of those guys and while there were some internally created urgencies with Iverson and Shaq, their teams could have afforded to wait, too.

They weren't getting any better deal for KG and you're overstating Al's shortcomings and the clarity thereof. He did go onto make the all-star team and be a 20/10 guy
